Wow, his hands look so natural with cards palmed, great effect but not the most economical, there have been far easier versons created without any loss in effect or fairness, but still just an amazing effect, and i would say larry jennings executes every sleight perfectly, where some guys do some sleights well but you cringe when they do others larry is very consistent.
Holy crap! I can't believe it pulls it off so cleanly. Took me three takes to finally catch on how he did it. And damn! To do that so confidently and openly... Wow!
Open Traveler's is by far the best trick I've seen done with the four aces. It's simple, and it's a nice reprieve from tricks like assemblies and whatnot.
larry jennings is a legend but i like the invisble palm better than open traveller because easier and no extra move to hide it don't get me wrong this trick is a lot harder but why not take a shorcut coorect me if i am wrong
Best tabled retention vanish I have ever seen. The rub away vanish is very difficult to learn. Doesn't matter how many times you watch him do it, it's flawless.
It boggles my mind that someone who goes by the name of "magichobbyist" would have the balls to criticize one of the greatest sleight of hand artists of the past century.
How can you say that the performance of a man who invented some of the greatest card and coin plots, and who also evolved some of the greatest handlings for existing plots, and who Vernon himself referred to as one of the greatest exponents of sleight of hand, is a struggle.
my goodness man ow can u call him a weak magician!! dude his rub vanish is just amazing...man u know abt magic n so ull naturally know the moves involved...dont go about saying such things abt one of the legends in magic
Just a simple one ahead process. Note how camera editing is done to not show him placing the first 2 aces (supposedly one) down on the table. Any fool will see there are 2 cards and not one.
Also his palming flashes some paint when he adds on the last card.
I saw Jennings perform many times...in this crap he is caught up in that "magic castle" bullshit where people will fall for anything.
His chop cup routine, however, is the best there ever was.
Wow, he has a good trait in not speeding up or slowing down. Also, I noticed he doesn't doubt himself, you know if you think you messed up? I'd like to see him perform in real life sometime...
Larry Jennings IS the guy who INVENTED the trick. It USES the slight "the invisible palm" but the TRICK itself is simply known as "The Open travellers. This was first published in 1969 in the Book Expert Card Mysteries by Alton Sharpe
Thanks for your comment. I've checked and found out that this effect is known both as Open Traveller and Invisible Palm, so I've changed the title thus.
His version is called open travellers though...you were correct.
In my opinion, his version is still one of the best. Sure, you have to palm cards, but as long as it's done properly nobody will ever suspect it (like Erdnase said though, it's difficult). However, the palms do take place at a beautiful time psychologically, and if there's no palming involved, the packets have to come into contact with eachother, or there's some other type of compromise.
actually its just a version of the Invisible Palm plot, Harris was not the original person to do this. I am not sure who was the original creator of this plot, might be Marlo, not sure. Personally I like Harris' version better, but that is personal preference. This is beautiful as well, but again, personally I prefer Harris'.

I think it was Larry.

Did Ed Marlo or Larry invent the invisible palm?
bairdyboy1 3 years ago
I know some people disagree but I prefer Larry's calm and assured handling of this trick rather than Arnaud Chevrier's.
Both are great but this is just beautiful magic.
