  • Jeff is the best thing to happen to this group. I'd really like to se him come back

  • So fantastic.. from origin to future.

  • I love how after Victor's solo when Bela starts soloing you just think, nahh Victor's the shit, and then he just totally blows you away. Love this band!!

  • if u lisen all bela fleck music, u can feel how much did bela learns from victor, and how much victor learns from bela, like poul mcrney with john lennon

  • Love this video. Vic and Roy Wooten are the S**T!

  • It's Victor Wooton and the Woodaddy's!

  • Hey, Victor still gets paid by the note! These guys are great.

  • let me get something straight. i hate most jazz music, its just not my style. But this, this is AMAZING! all the solos are perfect and kick so much ass! and Future Man's drum guitar thing is crazy, i want one.

  • Can someone please upload this video in better quality? :D

  • @mjdrummer9 I don't see anything wrong with the quality.

    Just enjoy the music :)

  • This is music that can make me relax and freak out at the same fucking time!!! i feel so inspired and awesome when i sit and listen to this beautiful MASTERPIECE!!! i wont point anyone out of them because i love them all!!! at the seventh day god made THIS!!! Brilliant!!

  • @crashedcan it was. lol

  • @crashedcan You know, there's a very good reason for that...

  • Great! But I must say, if someone would've let me just listen to this song without images I would've found it hard to believe that this guy is playing the banjo. Sounds exactly like a guitar...

  • The best combination of Musicians like Rush. I would kill to be in both groups. Even just for a day.

  • @tomaspepino Jeff is HAVING an orgasm during his own solo.

  • Damn, future man has an amazing voice!

  • These guys are F*n amazing - tight, all great players... What kind of thang is the singer playing?

  • @blueyedboymrdeath Drumitar. His own invention based on the Synthaxe

  • I can't believe all these years I thought Bela and the Flecktones were some kinda "Paddle faster, I think I hear banjo music" new-grass bluegrass unit. Holy ...

  • unbelievable live piece

  • It's kinda funny how the beginning of Bela's solo loosely sounds like their old "Bonnie & Slyde" number.

  • Klasse

  • Kickin!!!

  • i hate how when bela comes up to play the banjo solo i get lost in victors bassline but when i try to listen carefully to victors bassline i get attracted back to belas solo! either way theyre both awesome!!!

  • listen belas solo carefully, and is 100 % probability of an orgasm.

  • I saw them open for DMB but I wanna see them again, I didn't realize how good they are

  • Victor PAPAI!! ^^

  • I've been listening to this song for the last 6 years and this was the first time I realized that it wasn't Bela Fleck who was sining. xD

  • just amazing, i watch this video at least 3 times a day its just so good

  • These guys are sick

  • 3:44 Does some1 figure out how vic creates that sound? amazing... =D

  • @Bassbeagle I think he using an artificial harmonic. If you lightly touch the string with your index finger then pluck with the ring finger you should get the sound. There are loads of odd places to get them so have a play around =)

  • @muppet089 what are real harmonics?

  • Natural Harmonics are produced by plucking the unfretted string while lightly touching it at the 12th 7th or 5th fret, (which divide the string length into 2, 3 and 4 respectively.) Higher divisions are pretty quiet and more difficult.

With the oddly named "Artificial" Harmonics, the string is fretted, otherwise the technique is much the same, usually touching the string 12 frets above the fretting point, while plucking.

    Pinching is another harmonic technique.

    All are real.

    Cheers

  • i was wondering the same thing because in some of the newer videos hes kind of off to the side. he needs to be upfront with those guys

  • why doesnt futureman sing more?

  • who would "dislike" this?

  • WTB time machine to go back in time and be there, if only I had knew back then

  • I wish i could rock what futureman wears

  • Total Originality.... makes your jaw hit the floor....

  • FUNKY FUNKY!!!

  • ....When the music is inside you

  • damn bella fleck is damn technically brilliant lol.

  • These guys must feel so good after pulling off a performance like this. I mean honestly, if I had even half the skill to play like they do, I would just be the happiest guy in the world. They got it made, that's for sure.

  • not only after, i think the best feeling is in action.

  • great

  • so, sooooo cool

  • Comment removed

  • is jeff coffins using a wah? it sounds like it

  • electric banjo, sax with an envelope filter, sythax drummatar, Victor Woot=

    amazing

  • victor yeah !

  • Saxophone with an envelope filter? What an awesome sound!

  • Amazing! Thank you for posting this.

  • AMAZING!! Victor Wooten is unreal.

  • The synth that comes in at 1:20 is a sweet touch.

  • Béla's solo here is so nice, don't even have to look, just play :D

  • 4:53, is one of the best things i've ever heard.

  • @WiFooo its one of the best things anybody has ever heard

  • Greatest bassist ever stepped on Earth...

  • Speechless :o

  • Such talent and virtuosity shown by these wonderful artists. This song just made my night.

And I never knew Futureman had such a voice! I love it!

  • the best banjo solo i've ever seen

  • only one Ive seen '-' but still good :D

  • @yoavm92 Check out the sinister minister one

  • questa è stupenda..

  • Flack(flins)tones you are the best.

    Come in Croatia!

  • 3:44

    What?!?!

  • Gotta be some kind of pinch harmonic. He does that kinda thing often.

  • It's actually pretty simple to do. Vic demonstrates in one of his DVDs. wows the crowd EVERY time. gotta love him.

  • State Theatre, Kalamazoo, Dec. 11th.

WOW, I'm getting my tix today.

    PEACE

  • I'll have to say....

    Future Man is HOTT.

    PEACE

  • fantastic.

  • wow

  • mi favorita!!!

  • J été a se concert ! un pur bonheur !!

  • Pure funk!!

  • And Victor's "G" string suddenly finds itself at the beginning of the end, here! :) You know what I am talking about! :))

  • Can anyone tell me which record this is on (either studio or if the gods are smiling this live cut). And at risk of being a pain, which are the best albums to start out with from these guys. Thanks.

  • It's from Left of Cool.

  • I've searched and searched for this live performance on DVD and can't find it anywhere. :(

  • HI wmdip, it's on left of cool but I don't think that there is a particular album that you can start with but personally I prefer the live one. Live at the quick and live art are pure gold.

  • My fav albums (and most like this tune) are The Hidden Land and Live Art, Live at the Quick, and Little Worlds,

Regarding the solos on this cut. I'm friggin dumbfounded. So sick

  • It's crazy that this only has 17,000 views but songs like lollipop by lil wayne has 30 million views. This is what music is all about

  • Fucking right. yes.

  • Indeed

  • Most people don't know what we know. It's a shame I know, but that's the way the world is. Why listen to this when you can listen to sexually and verbally explicit songs like the one's lil wayne sings? It stones me.

  • Because not everyone is a musician, nor do they want to be.

  • @durrban i didnt even know how much views lil wayne had. but this owns lil wayne by far.

  • @durrban why is everyone giving this guy thumbs up? He's got a bullshit statement

  • @BennyGaberMusic because "Lollipop" is complete crap. And it does not qualify as music.

  • @safetymonkey42 It's not wise to say something like that, you can say it's awful, but not that it doesn't qualify as music! Music is universal. everybody feels something different from everyone with sounds. I'm not saying i'm a Lil Wayne fan or anything, even though he's a legit producer, that lolipop thing contains the natural structures of a song, some people can get to that higher level with music like that, just for THESE sounds! Fleck is alright, but some people may think this is stale

  • @BennyGaberMusic No one listens to lollipop for the music, no one says "oh did your hear that bass line in lollipop", anyway who are lil'wayne's musicians?

  • I agree but 17,000 people who actually realise that this is music ..while "Lollipop " is disposable, forgettable, dross for people who " Eat $h1te..'cos 10,000,0000 flies can't be wrong"

  • @durrban does that makes u unique xD

  • relocos! geniales! la electronica usada bien...

  • y WONDERLLOSO, MARAVILLOSO

  • Incredible gropu, incredible theme and incredible performance!

  • can someone tell me what does victor do with is bass @ 3:45 to get that sound

  • Im quite sure its a bent pick harmonic but instead of a pick he uses his thumb and index which makes the lower harmonic ring out more than the upper

  • thanks mann

im going to try to get it on my bass

    if im lucky!!

    thanks

    bless

  • I don't play. I would have guessed that he was just communing with God to make that sound :-)

  • yea man

    you r right

    victor is impossible!!!!!!!

  • I friend of mine is learning to play bass. I sent him some clips of Victor. He said "stop, man. Watching him makes me want to quit! :-)"

  • lol

    thats what happened to me

the first time i heard him too =)

  • it's an artificial harmonic produced with his index finger as a "node" and then plucking behind- that's steve bailey's influence on him shining through :P

  • Harmonics man

  • he just bends the string at a high fret

  • wow that croud is dead!

i don't see how you can stay still during that!

  • brilliant minds! AMAZING !!!!

  • wow, Bela is in deep concentration.

  • sax is killer here. who does that?

  • Jeff Coffin. He's amazing!

  • i like futureman's voice...

  • yeah both the wooten brothers have a knack for the vocals. i dig it.

  • OMG! How I love this!

  • WAH SAXAPHONE! holy crap thats sweet

  • Cool....real cool.

  • Left of Cool, actually

  • That was amazing

  • Absolutely amazing! Beautiful tune... And they each killed their solos!

  • the drumitar. future man made it.

  • It's a Drum guitar I guess

  • sry, guys but can any1 tell me what is the singer playing?

  • drumitar. he invented it. pretty cool, eh?

  • BELA FLECK ROCKSSS

  • Do You Have the Lyrics of this song ? :D

  • The shit!

  • They're ALL ridiculous! WOOOOOOHHHOOOO :) Nobody gets all down into it like they do.

  • I could listen Flecktones all the fucking Day :D

  • Jeff rips the fuck outta this tune love it

  • how exactly does coffin get that effect on his sax?...thats awesome

  • Does Jeff's shirt have "Om" on it? That's awesome!!!!

  • the best band ever!

  • yea, these guys are all just absolutely sick at their instruments...really doesnt get much better than this folks

  • Best thing on the world....Flecktones and Bela

  • This song rocks wow im so impressed by THE wooten

  • yea, he's the best...but i think there's 2 wootens up there, isnt futureman and vic related?

  • Yeah, Futureman's actual name is Roy Wooten and he's Vic's older brother.

  • better quali...

    thx 4 uploadin
