  • whats da name of the song b4 the video starts?

  • 1:17 Did you ever stop to give your mom your dirty clothes?

  • 1:38 thats the Bolt Catch/Release, not the magazine release.

  • FUCK AR 15 AK AL THEY WAY!! BY THE TIME YOU CLEAN THIS SHIT YOUR DEAD FUCK THIS RIFLE!!!!

  • The armalite model 15 (Ar-15) is just a civi model of the military's m16/m4 . Only difference is Ar's are semi-automatic, and military are selective fire , single, triple, and automatic . Both are gas operated and fire both the 5.56*45mm and the .223 . I use 5.56 in my rock river arms LAR-15 all the time , not a single jam even used in heavy ass dust storms ,and rain . The trick is maintaining your firearm. It's simple and fun to do.

  • @mb666100 yah i agree i had a friend who had a Bushmaster AR15 and it was very reliable. I think there's a lot of myths about the reliability of these guns. People think they're all as unreliable as the original Colt XM16E1 and the M16A1 used in Vietnam.

  • I like the simplicty of breaking down the AR-15 and Ak47 both very good and reliable weapons. I clean my AR after every time i shoot just to keep it running smoothly probably put about 150 rounds through it by the end of the day

  • dude you obviously dont know your facts...the bolt is empty? You mean chamber? Also, its .223 and 5.56 not .556

  • man i want an AR but damn thats too much just to take down and clean it...do yo have to take the bolt down that far to clean it to keep reliable?

  • @GNut1980

Cleaning an AR without breaking the bolt down is better than not cleaning it at all, but I would strongly recommend you clean it thoroughly. Every little bit of fowling increases your chances of a malfunction

Once you know how to clean it, it doesn't take very long at all

If you want a rifle that you don't want to worry about cleaning (and you don't want to spend a fortune) look at something like an AK

I have and love both an AK and an AR, but I have and love them for different reasons

  • @ekaj8 excellent comment...i too am getting an ak in the coming months maybe 2 lol but i still want an AR just to have an keep for variety and for acuracy...youre right it doesnt look that hard to take down just as simple as a handgun

  • @GNut1980 no, i have shot over 10 thousand rounds through mine with out breaking the it down that far, all i do is remove the firing pin, retaining pin, and bolt carrier, theres no need to take a chance of loosing small springs and such, and i look at it this way, if you spent 1000 dollars on a gun and it lasts you 20-25 thousand round(aprox 6-7 years) then it did its job and its time for a new one, thats about 150 bucks a year which isnt bad at all, none of us are using these weapons to defend

  • @built04Cobra thanks bro!

  • You are very awkward carrying that fire arm, don't shoot your face off.

  • AR-15s are shite.

Oh, do not get me wrong, they are absolutely brilliant...

until they get a spot of dirt in them [as you do when in the field]

    then they just go "Klik!"

Time to get a combat rifle that does not jam when used in combat, Yankees.

  • @danielskipp1 And I assume you've been in combat with an AR-15?

  • @DiscoDude82

and that would make a difference how? A population survey of one. Hmmm.. not a good source of data. How old are you, son? I may not be stupid enough to kill for the Pentagon of Evil with an AR15 but i know what i am talking about. How about 2 decades of study of the opinions of many "experts", historians and autobiographies of soldiers, mostly SF, and recently even biased vids on YouTube show AR15 users having jams.

If you admit the AR15 frequently jammed you will be getting real.

  • @danielskipp1 They aren't all the same as the original M16 and M16A1 that we had in Nam. There have been many improvements. And if kept clean - which a person should do anyway - they are very reliable. I would probably still select an M1-A just because I can use it for more than I can use an AR for (being a 7.62x51 rather than a .223).

  • LOVE THE NAM MUSIC CCR IS THE BEST!

  • Hold production, the cleaning lady is asking for dirty clothes to wash. at 1:18 -)

  • 1:17 I really think you should have stopped and given your mom your dirty clothes...

  • The first pin you remove on the bolt carrier is the firing pin retaining pin and the second one, the one you called a retaining pin, is the bolt cam pin. Just so you know.

  • Do they have versions of the AR-15 that allow detachment of the carying handle? I noticed all of the AR-15s I see don't allow you too. Do they have versions that fire both 5.56x45mm and .223, or are those just M4/M16s. My dad owns an M4 and his shoots both 5.56x45mm and .223. I want to buy one and I would like the capability to shoot both, but I noticed that the M4s I'm finding are about twice as much as the AR-15s and the AR-15s only shoot .223.

  • @zachiary56 Many manufactures sell AR15s without the carry handle (usually to make adding scopes easier). Any gun chambered for the 5.56 will fire the .223, although some say that guns chambered for the .223 should not use 5.56 ammo (due to minor differences in specs). Most of the AR15s I know of are in face chambered for 5.56, so I'm not sure what guns you may be looking at. Some sellers use 5.56 and .223 interchangeably so the best bet is to look at what is actually stamped on the gun.

  • the green means is G.I. issued, at one point.

  • Note: If you don't have a chrome lined Bolt Carrier Group, GET ONE. IT WILL MAKE CLEANING WORLDS EASIER.

Thumbs up so people can see.

  • eww marine corp >:P jk hoorah to you :)

  • green fowlerers in mag are colt

  • Tripod. Script. Rehearse.

  • thats the bolt release. not the mag. incase noone noticed....

  • Comment removed

  • what brand sling is that?

  • Well you were referring to the locking cam when you said retaining pin, also I find it helpful to turn the rifle upside down with the carrying handle facing down to disassemble my AR

  • this is the exact same as the C7a1 cocking handle and all

  • John Lennon knows how to disassemble an AR-15? Wow...

  • Thanks for the vid. This is my first rifle and I this vid helped me get it apart.

  • Are you the real life version of Mr. Mackey? :p Just messing with ya.

  • Someone can say me what it´s the song of the begin of the video?

    Thanks

  • @Diegobirras

Fortunate Son by Creedence Clearwater Revival

  • @ekaj8

    Thank you very much!!

  • @ekaj8 so why is it your rifle wont have its bolt held open on safety? my bushmaster m4 ar15 can so im just curious why yours doesnt O_o

  • @Diegobirras english?????

  • @hateliberals1

    what???

  • Today I cleaned my xm15 and for the longest time I didn't know how to separate the upper and lower. Anyway, I cleaned everything in the carrier group with break free, then wiped it down really well, then I stuck my finger tip into some lubricant and rubbed it sparingly all over everything so there was a very fine coat of it on all the pieces. Does this sound like I cleaned my bolt carrier group correctly?

  • ok dude get your facts straight its not just a barrel its an upper receiver if your gonna do this type of video please please don't embarass urself come on u want people to think you know something then know what your taking about otherwise dont make videos ok numbnutz

  • you americans and your guns...laughable!

  • dude, you are using all the wrong terms, its not a "bolt" its your darn carrier group, the bolt is a different part held in side the carrier group, "the bolt is empty" you mean your chamber is empty, its not a retaining pin its a cam pin, its not just a barrel its the upper reciever and barrel, theres lots of parts in there, im not being rude or harsh, but f your making an instructional video, you need to be 100% accurate

  • I found that my polyer Magpul PMAG level mags work MUCH better than the stock POS, to smoothly feed ammo into the chamber.

LOVE IT with my ACOG TA31FG scope. Freaking sweet!

  • I can't for the life of me, beat the crap out of the front sight pins enough, to remove them for a new 4-rail hand guard. WTH?!? Help!

I tried wd-40, Liquid Wrench, and a 3 LB. hammer with titanium nail sets. Any tips?

  • @MrBlister1972 Are the pin ends actually exposed? you MIGHT have to grind off one of the ends and expose the pin. Then hit the pin from the end you ground off.

  • I use brake cleaner spray from Walmart for $2. All those bolt parts you have to scrub come clean a lot faster using this. I hose down the parts, then scrub for several seconds. Hose down again, let the dirt rinse out with the cleaner, and dry the parts of with rags etc. Fast and easy.

  • Another one bushmaster does not make an ar-15. Wannabe colt people

  • The green on the inside is the highest quality and helps prevent jamming

  • @luciax402 You are a stupid fuck . Green on the inside sounds like a kid.

  • does this rofle jam much?

  • @TheBlabla1996

I shoot high power rifle competitively so I keep very accurate records of how many rounds have fired vs jams. This particular rifle has about 2300 rounds through it. I have had 10-15 jams and I would say up to 8 of those malfunctions are due to bad ammunition (I reload much of my own ammo and sometimes I just don't get it 100% right) The main thing needed to avoid malfunctions is keeping the rifle clean. I clean mine after every 80-100 rounds.

  • @ekaj8 okay we had that kind of rilfe on the firering range and they sad: we have to clean this gun every 5-10 rounds and then it still jams, but it is stil my top 1 rifle

i like cleaning rifles, its nice to do

  • @ekaj8 i clean mine evrey time i shoot

  • what i wanna know is what is the diffrence betwen an m16a1 and an AR-15 couse i cant se any vissual diffrens?

  • @noerden91

Eugene Stoner designated this rifle the AR15, when the military adopted it they re-designated it the M16. M16s are selective fire weapons while AR15s are pretty much always semi auto only. They are essentially the same rifle. Hope this helps.

  • @ekaj8 yeah thanks im not a gun nut even do i want to but in my country the only thing you can own legit is hunting rifles

  • @noerden91 ekaj8 went into the detailed version.. basically ar-15 is the civilian version of the military's m16/m4

  • @noerden91 ar-15 is a semi auto carbine, and m16 is based off the ar, but it is a rifle, (basically longer barrel) and shoots selective fire

  • Bro!!

Get some 30 round mags and a collapsible stock!

    Good vid tho.......

  • you mean the chamber is empty and even if you only fire 1 rnd you should always clean your rifle after firing it

  • What is the name of the song in the very begining of the video?

  • Can you buy full auto firearms in the States? I live in Canada, we only can buy semi atuo.

  • The Marine Corps have been phasing out the 9mm side arm as the primary weapon for officers in exchange for the m4 carbine. Every Marine is a rifleman, and the Marines feel the officers have started to stray away from that.

  • give the spring a handjob... got it! nagh that was a great video thanks my bush master kept jamming a found out they gave me the spring from a different gun!

think it was a Mini-14 but who cares? subed

  • Take that sticker off your gun

  • Did you know that Bushmaster doesn't do anything special to their weapons to make them "match" grade? They test fire every rifle they put together, (I say put together because they don't make most of their parts either, but most AR companies don't) but anyway, they test every rifle, and those that shoot the tightest groups, they stamp "match" lol it's pretty funny actually

  • Yes that's what its called A retaining Penn

  • why safety on the aim?

  • what gun do usmc infantry officers use? and what acog sight do they use?

  • @GscottS16 ..Marine Infantry officers are issued a 9 mm Pistol ...Thats the standard weapon for Staff NCO's and officers...Of course If an officer is in combat he would probly carry carry a standard rifle .

  • talk to much jak

  • @oxycodone30 Oxycodone is BAD! Anyways don't be scared of your AR just grab it by the horns and dig in! Just don't go any further than a field strip and you will be A-OK!!

  • bro, is that a chinese newspaper?? haha

  • How come in your video you did not clean the gas tube? What's the best method for cleaning the gas tube?

  • thanks man, that helped

  • how do you clean the gas tube in the hand guard

  • @huntz2471 In ordor to clean out the gas tube use a pipe cleaner and use your pinkie to check for cleanliness.

  • I can strip and clean my AK in a matter of 3 minutes [2 if I'm in a hurry] I'd like to have an AR [for the distance shot] but I don't know, it takes so long to clean an AR and the parts are so small, that it would be near impossible to clean this in a jiffy...under fire.

    Correct me if I'm wrong,please.

  • How much did you pay for that? I'm thinkin about buying an ar-15, I want it to look like the m16's used in Vietnam. Anyone got tips for one one to go with?

  • i have that shirt!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • bad sling dude !"!!!!

  • marines are idiots

  • @DongoHumongo350

    trolls are idiots...

  • last time you cleaned it was last year? that 'aint good.

  • i clean it after every shooting, unless i shoot under 20 rds

  • @ekaj8 Your AR should be cleaned after everytime you take it out shooting

  • Don't believe everything you read from the 1960's.

  • would be nice with better video quality!

  • hey i have a Olympic Arms AR-15 and its my first...just wanted to no if it was a good rifle?thxs

  • Olympic is ok. depending what you want to do with it. if you are just plinking and keeping for self defense, it's fine. clean it everytime you shoot it and just keep up with taking care of the rifle. A lot of people get caught up in the name on the side of AR lower, but what it comes down to is that all the parts for the AR are made by 5-6 different companies. just like buying a pair of jeans. everyone makes them, but you pay more for name brand and the jeans arent' any better than walmarts.

  • great vid just next time dont shoot it with your cell phone

  • okay vid and if they are kept clean ar-15 style rifles are very reliable

  • lol the marine core sticker i got like a hundred of em they give em away when they try to recruit us in school

  • Haha I've only seen the army at my school

  • @macorine987 lol ive had army marines coast guard volunteer fire dept and police dept

  • if it's not clean yeah, that's the only problem these guns really have. they NEED to be clean if you want them to opperate correctly.

  • great video really help me. I'm leaving for Air force BMT march30th

  • @rjereza whoever told you they are more reliable is wrong... they're just easier to clean

  • No, mine isn't a piston gun

  • @anteracmacash just click turn off annotations

  • I think you did a great job and you helped me out in a few areas. I have a Bushmaster and a LWRC thats all suped up. I use my Bushmaster for Target shooting thats what I have it set up for. The LWRC I have set up for tons of friggin fun! I call it my second vehicle because thats about what I put into it!!LOL I just shoot with diff. groups from diff. ranges. What kind of shooting do you do?

  • I shoot high power competition with this particular rifle, we shoot from 200, 300, and 600 yards

  • @ekaj8 The maxium effective range of an M16 is 300 Meters. If you use rapid fire or "rock &roll" then you are using indirect fire or surpressing/cover fire.

  • @gunlver

    those LWRC's are nice!!!

  • @gunlver Where'd you get an LWRC from?! I've looked many websites and stores to buy it and i did not find one!

  • Great cleaning video you sure helped me out in my AR15 cleaning process. I just subscribed to your page, I was hoping you could help me out and do the same to my page? Watch and comment my vids if you like them or if you have any ideas!

  • can you post a video on how to take apart the t6 collapseable stock...like if you want to upgrade the stock to a magpul.

  • all you do is pull the tab to adjust it the opposite way you usually do and it slides right off

  • Thanks so much for this video! im getting mine tomorrow! i cant wait! :D

  • i am working on getting a DPMS AR-15 i have shot a AR-15 befor but im just trying to find out what the plunger piece to the right of the charging handle can someone help me out. i should know what this is but i just cant think of it. plus other videos just show rich kids slaming on that piece probly braking it.

  • its called a forward assist, if your bolt fails to go all the way forward you can manually push on the forward assist and it will physically push the bolt all the way home. i have rarely needed to use mine, but it is there in case u need it

  • Comment removed

  • is that a plano double rifle case? I have like 3 of those and they hold all my rifles really nicely at the foot of my bed :D

  • all you need to clean an ar 15 is a rag a stick little oil done

  • This video is unnecessarily LONG. It's a good 2-3 minutes before anything useful to cleaning is discussed.

  • In the USAF we were told to use the nose of a cartridge to push out the first retaining pin, and did not take the uppe off the lower for cleaning. Side note: USAF M-16s did not have the "forward assist" feature as Curtis "Bombs Away" LeMay thought it unneeded, as did Stoner; but the Army required it.

  • i though the store give you 30 round clips when you got a AR-15 they gave me 3 of them for free and a 100 round drum for 50% off hmm i guess stores are different than they are in the south

  • it is the states reg.s i live in gay ass fucking NY and no gun in NY is aloud to hold more than 10 rounds. unless u can find mags made before 1986 and considered "pre-ban" i just bought a Bushmaster a3 m4 and it came with 1 10 round mag.

  • I live in good ol' Tennessee! The Patron State of Shootin' Stuff! The only ammo limit here is on shotguns.

  • @trippyhatesu I suggest you move quickly! Bushmaster makes a nice weapon I have one and I love it! Take care of it and it will take care of YOU as with any weapon!

  • for "One Rad Rude Boy" its just takeing time in his vid explaining it all for ppl like you i can deff break my bushmaster down and back toghter in little over a minute and cleaning isnt all that long of a process if ya dont play arround

  • lol, funny that it's a 2 part video, whereas AK disassembly is pretty much like a 3 minute demonstration.

  • There's alot of small pins i may lose in the sands of iraq.

  • So then when you'll shot first terrorist take his AK and have no worries about small parts it just didn't have it :)

  • no, it depends on what state you live in. i just picked up a smith and wesson last week. it has a nice weight to it. check your local and state laws.

  • Are assault rifles currently banned in all states?

  • no i just bought a Colt ar 15 i live in WA

  • nope assault rifles ban has expired

  • NO, they are not. Depends on how gay and retarded your lawmakers are, but a lot of places don't really even restrict something as long as it is only semi auto (such as in the city I live in, you can own a rifle that is defined as an "assault weapon" by the BATF). You can even own full auto guns as long as you pay for a class III permit.

  • @patsfanczar So true my state allows just about anything! I love it up here in Maine! The gun laws are great and the girls ain't bad either!

  • Obamas working on that with his anti-american terrorist dog named holder.

  • Yeah, I don't like that eric Holder either.

    He' a fucking Asshole.

  • wow it seems it takes time to strip down an ar compared to a ak.

  • Im really taking my time in this video, it can be done more quickly

  • How much weight did you add to the stock? It sounded like it's made entirely out of steel or lead..

  • I'm not sure of the weight but there is a solid lead triangular block in the butt stock, it takes up the entire buttstock

  • nice video... its was simple i have a DPMS panther arms AR-15... I Texas u can get whatever u wnat besides a selector switch.. i have 15 30 round mags and a tactical forerail with a eotech and front grip... but as far as taking it apart i find it easier and less confusing everytime i do it... and for those that are new to the AR style rifle the russian wolf ammo is really bad for the extractor in the AR.. and its really dirty and if your AR has a gas tube it can clog that tube up.

  • at 1:39 did you mean to say bolt release button instead of magazine release? if not sorry its not the best quality.

  • yes I misspoke, it is the bolt release, not the magazine release

  • The device he pointed to is indeed the bolt release. The mag release is on the other side fore of the trigger.

  • The AR-15 came before the M16, the M16 fixed a few problems that the AR-15 had like the jamming from full auto.

I hate when people post the wrong info.

To the guy down there, The AR-15 wasnt designed last as a civilian version. Get your info right.

  • how much do these cost?

  • The price range varies greatly and you do not necessarily get what you pay for, I would go to a local gun shop and check them out. Mine personally cost around $800, which is a good price for a match grade rifle, i had multiple discounts helping lower the price. Sorry I cant be specific

  • You likely wont pick one up for less than 1000 at the moment

  • I just picked mine up pretty much new(Custom Built w/ Yankee Hill Recievers) for around $800 as well. However, I have connections and acquired it pretty much at cost from a dealer. Retail price is floating somewhere around $1000 - $1200 at the moment. Could be less for a very basic model or a used AR that needs some TLC...

  • I moved to Europe and Im having problems to find an armory with AR 15... do you know about any online retailer? I need to replace the recievers...

  • Can you own a rifle in california?

  • I have no idea what the firearms laws are in California, I have heard that their laws are strict concerning firearms

  • Yes, but you need what's called a "Bullet button" so you have to use a bullet tip or tool to hit the mag release, no mags over 10 rounds, and a lot of ar-15 lower receivers are banned(for no reason other than model name, a lot of newer ones are legal).

  • I find it funny that the banned lowers are exactly the same as the legal lowers. I have a pre-ban Stag Arms lower that I just replaced with a post-ban Daniel Defense lower. THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME!!!! Gotta love California.

  • Yes California Gun laws are very strict, I can vouch for that. But you can own rifles, and most other guns if its not full auto.you must buy the semi auto civilian variant of any assalt rifle.

  • it isn't as hard as it looks, once you get to know how to do it the cleaning takes no time and disassembly and reassembly are under the 2min mark

  • anyone notice that the ar 15,m4a1,m16 look alike

  • the ar-15 is the civilian version and original version of the series

the m16 was designed off the ar-15 for the military (has fully automatic fire)

the m4a1, m4, m4a2, and anything else that looks like an m16 is based off the m16 or the ar-15, they are just different variants

  • actually the m16 was designed first then the m4 then the ar 15 was created as a civilian versian of the weapon system

  • I'm pretty sure it was the AR-10 design which AR-15/M16/M4's are based off of. The AR-10 was originally designed as a 7.62 weapon I believe. Everything else came after Colt acquired the license from Knights and successfully marketed the platform to the military, that's when it became the M16.

  • Comment removed

  • That sure is a funny sling for an ar15. Isnt that a garand sling?

  • It is a leather sling used in competition, it is very similar to the garand sling

  • 1:38 should be "bolt catch", not "magazine release".

  • good call man, I totally messed that up. Thanks

  • it happens to all of us...lol. i don't think i could live without my ar15 or my 1911a1. thanks for the vid.

  • very helpful, thanks!!

  • she's beautiful mate

  • The AR-15 is pretty sweet! When i get mine, i will use what you showed me because i didn't know before. Thanks!

  • very nice gun man, good video. i am getting mine with a collapsible stock, and i want a flattop upper receive instead of the a2.

  • how do you add extra weight to the buttstock?

  • There is a trapdoor on the part of the stock that directly touches you shoulder, all you have to do is open the trapdoor and add the weight you want. You can buy lead weights to put in the stock, I know a guy who loaded his stock up with buckshot for weight and then crammed in a bunch of cotton balls to stop the rattling.

    I hope this helped

  • Yes, it did. I was always wondering what that was in the butt stock as well. So thank you

  • In mine there is the triangular lead weight

  • video was helpful but collapsible butt stock is better, the regular stock doesnt add to stabilitiy and the shorter collapsible stock is more versatile and just cooler in general
