I live in Kingman (Arizona, 75 miles from the dam). We moved here right when they started construction on the approaches. We go to Vegas occasionally and saw the bridge in every step of its construction.
There's also a sign near here that says when the construction was expected to be completed. It changed all the time.
Transformers was filmed <2007 which was before they even started working on the arch. This is not the bridge from that movie.
If they interrupted traffic to film it, yes it would be important, and yes you would've known instantly. This highway is the main route between Las Vegas and Phoenix, two of the US's largest cities. Around ~10,000 vehicles cross the dam daily.

Yes very impressive. Above all it'll cut the border crossing by a whooping 30 minutes. Touted to be another WONDER even before its inaugyration. I wonder how many years it would take to pay off the investment, perhaps never.
There'll be no tourists when gas hits $50 a gallion.
The is a great achievement. America is the pioneer when it comes to construction engineering!
Hats off!
I love USA.

that waterlevel looks very low

@SuperBlackngold Because lake mead is Las Vegas's water source.
People use water more than it can natrually refresh in the water cycle and because of the climate change, less water has been coming also.

The bridge they filmed the Poor rated transformers movie
was the Taos bridge in New Mexico. It was claimed that
this is the first movie that has filmed entirely in the same state.
