  • The is a great achievement. America is the pioneer when it comes to construction engineering!

    Hats off!

    I love USA.

  • My dad worked on the bridge. (:

  • kis my fuken ass bitch

  • My girlfriend and I drove over the dam and saw the bridge in constuction two

years ago. She left me. Now the bridge is ready to drive over and hookup with

    chicks in Vegas. SEE YA.

  • @2008davidcr

Whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

...except for STDs & STIs. Don't be daft, wrap your shaft.

  • @UltraredM what is STI's?

  • @jasonmildward34 Sexually transmitted infections.

  • In the future, now that the new bridge is built.

Will be be able to still drive over the bridge itself if we choose to???

  • I live in Kingman (Arizona, 75 miles from the dam). We moved here right when they started construction on the approaches. We go to Vegas occasionally and saw the bridge in every step of its construction.

There's also a sign near here that says when the construction was expected to be completed. It changed all the time.

    "Construction on Hoover Dam 2002-2005"

    "Construction on Hoover Dam 2002-2007"

    "2002-2009"

  • @TheCanadianPenguin - Yeah - just like the Afghan war.

  • @TheCanadianPenguin that place is pretty cool looking from far away

  • I was there during construction in August'09 when only the curved support had been built.

  • that waterlevel looks very low

  • @SuperBlackngold Because lake mead is Las Vegas's water source.

People use water more than it can natrually refresh in the water cycle and because of the climate change, less water has been coming also.

  • My ex employer...Washington-Obayashi.

  • A video about the new bridge that showed 5 seconds of what it looks like. What a joke. Get it together associated press!

  • wait a minute...so they closed it down to film the transformers..what did they do with the traffic? I guess it was not that important anyway...

  • @dangermous1968

Transformers was filmed <2007 which was before they even started working on the arch. This is not the bridge from that movie.

If they interrupted traffic to film it, yes it would be important, and yes you would've known instantly. This highway is the main route between Las Vegas and Phoenix, two of the US's largest cities. Around ~10,000 vehicles cross the dam daily.

  • @TheCanadianPenguin

The bridge they filmed the Poor rated transformers movie

was the Taos bridge in New Mexico. It was claimed that

this is the first movie that has filmed entirely in the same state.

  • that looks like the bridge from transformers.

  • For a video about the bridge, they hardly showed the bridge haha.

  • It's that big thing that starts about 1:06 that the people on the Dam are looking at.

  • @SteeveeDan thanks +1. that was what i was looking for...

  • Umm i didnt see no bridge that bypasses the dam hmm odd

  • Yes very impressive. Above all it'll cut the border crossing by a whooping 30 minutes. Touted to be another WONDER even before its inaugyration. I wonder how many years it would take to pay off the investment, perhaps never.

There'll be no tourists when gas hits $50 a gallion.

  • @yaplonglong

Very bad trolling, try again next time.

  • cheap silver state!

  • GAWKING TOURISTS! BA HA HA HA!!!
