Hi VA team, how you did to make the animations idle, walk, run work properly? I added my own model ok but cannot give it animation, tried with bake animations, etc... did you keep localPlayer empty from models? your tutos are great, thanks!
You're asking for a tutorial or a list of programs? 3D max has all the functionality you need for that. Once you've got all the animations on the same timeline reference them inside unity.
It's tough to make work, what you suggest would make things unintuitive without visual cues as to which of the geometry is collidable. I feel you're right though, without it, it seems a bit odd.
I could delete a few chairs on each row but then this is meant to be a replica of the real-life seating arrangement.
@VirtualAutonomy no, dont delete any seats, i just though you could do a box collider around every seat or a mesh collider, even if the box collider was smaller then the actual seats, just walking directly through a seat is a bit weird, anyways, your heaps better then i am at unity, i have made a FPS using the tutorial on the unity site and created my own physics test without any help and im gonna make a 3rd person platformer next, if i make an actual level that is good i will upload it
I agree, it's all a work in progress. I'm trying to see which speed suits the area best as I'm not about having people running about, not in this room anyway. ;]
I still need to finish the camera controls and navigation, as well as hack in voice chat and live video streams (at least until unity supports it directly).
if you are on a mac, there is an extension for voice input. not sure how good it is, since i don't have a mac, nor do i know if its wht you want, but you can check it out on the unify wiki
could we get a demo if this to try or is it private for you class?

How does this work? Does the script create a server on the hoster? Or do the developers have to pay for a number of servers?

I would suggest to learn the basics of rigging/modelling in maya and motionbuilder!

He's the only asset I purchased, bought from turbosquid. Animated him after.

you need better collision

@samm565
Yes, thanks for that. ;p
Adding in collision for each row would make the environment unnavigable.
VirtualAutonomy 1 year ago
@VirtualAutonomy couldn't you add a bit better colision so you cant walk through the last 3 chairs on each row, anyways im not the unity genius

One tip, looks nice but change the animation speed to fit with the translation of the character.
