Hi i ordered a jetta gli autobahn at montan import group in bozeman,mt about a month ago and they told me at the beggining that it could be 2 to 3 months before it gets here and now i come to find out that he hasnt even ordered it yet!!! so i was just wondering why is this?? Thanks
@MrTacoDelPaco Usually it takes roughly 8-12 weeks or so to special order the car...it has to be built and whatnot. Another way to go is they can swap the car in from another dealer, provided that there is a similar car in a local dealer's inventory. As far as why he didn't order it yet, it seems to me that he dropped the ball. It's totally worth the wait though! Maybe buy from us and take a nice roadtrip home?? :-)
@TrendMotorsVW Thanks for your help and just one more question. I found the exact car i ordered for sale at another vw dealership about 500 miles away in denver and i was wondering if it would be possible for the to ship it up to the delearship im dealing with???
@MrTacoDelPaco That is entirely up to the dealer you are working with and the dealer that has the car. Good luck though and let me know how it works out!
@zre90 Hello...sorry I didn't see this sooner. We've got a bunch of them in stock. You can check our website for current inventory. TrendMotors with a dot and then a com. Thanks!
@fienyanney8 I did not. The power delivery is very linear and easy to keep under control. It's like a point and shoot camera - easy to operate to capture the best image. I think the power is perfect for this car.
In comparison, I just drove a 2011 Mazdaspeed3 with the 263-HP turbo-4, and that zig-zagged in first and second gear like whoa. Too much power without an LSD, IMO.
Im looking at getting a GLI because for $26000 I doubt I could get a better car. The exterior is simple but noticeable, the interior looks classy but sporty. The suspension has received great reviews. Purchase a ECU flash to get 250hp/297ft torque and it can compete with the majority of the sports cars on the road. Oh....enjoy the 30+ mpg highway....yes thats AFTER the added power.
@adooooo45 You couldn't be more correct...I really enjoy the fact that with my 1.8T flashed, I'm still enjoying close to 30 mpg...and this is without direct injection technology. There is nothing like a VW turbocharged four to boost power while keeping fuel economy respectable.
@paulicapopcorn It's just a model it doesn't mean it was designed specifically for the Autobahn lol. If you're looking for that then 911 Turbo would be the way to go. Or if you want to stick with VW then a GTI W12.
@TheV12Diesel I'm sure you can order them through VW Parts...but why not just swap snows on your existing wheels? It would be cheaper, that's for sure. Unless you want to have one set that is free of winter weather damage...in that case, a nice set of steel wheels with cheaper tires would be your best bet, financially.
Hello, I love the rims I would like them for my car, they are 18¨ right? what is the reference so I can look then on internet to buy them, and do you know any web page that sells them, thanks
@santiagocervera19 Hello! You are correct...they are 18". I think your best bet would be to hit your local VW dealer or maybe find them used on VWVortex.com. The car is so new that your pickings may be slim...but be patient and you may just come across them for a good price. Good luck!
Hey thanks for the review. I must admit I was really disappointed with the new Jetta being watered down so I'm happy this one seems to bring back the things I loved about the old one. Is the material on the inner doors made of hard plastic or is it soft touch as well? Finally do you know if they'll be watering down the MK7 Golf? I'm really worried about that. I was gonna get a fully loaded Golf TDI (comes with leather in Canada) or a Jetta GLI because of identical price.
@TheV12Diesel The door cards are made out of harder plastic than the dashboard, but to me it's one of those "oh man, why didn't they just use the soft touch....(1 week goes by)...oh that? I forgot about that." After spending time with the car, you look past that. Overall, it's an excellent package.
As for the MK7...I have no idea. I hope it continues to be of a high quality hatchback that it's been known for.
Hey Brian! Excellent review for the Jetta GLI. I was hoping to pick one up as my future car, but I've heard many mixed reviews about this it. How is the handling compared from this to the GTI? Seeing as though these cars are both front wheel drive. Plus, does this car lack the "punch" the GTI has when you hit the throttle? Again, thanks for the review and I'm hoping on purchasing this asap. :)
Thanks for the compliment. I haven't pushed this car to its limits, but being an owner of a 4th-gen GTI, and knowing that car's capability, I can only speak the highest praise for the newest GLI. The car shares identical underpinnings from the 6th-gen GTI, including the independent rear suspension and brakes. As for out of the box performance, the GTI is a rocket, IMO grossly underrated, and this car is pretty much the same thing, just with four doors.
@contradictions As for the front-wheel-drive setup, I'm willing to bet that you're not going to find the limit as far as handling goes. My final suggestion is to take one for an extended test drive, get a feel for the entire car; its performance, interior ergonomics, and overall presence. I think you will be satisfied in the fullest if you make the choice to purchase. You going for the 6-speed manual or DSG?
I have a general feel for what the 5th-gen GTI feels like, because the owner of one is my brother, which I rode in quite a few times.I do hope soon to take one for a test drive, to end this controversy of handling and or power between the two. I'm going with DSG. Or, if anything I can wait out a year or so, learn and get the hang of driving stick shift, and buy myself a 6-speed manual. But most likely it will be DSG.
Excellent Review. Considering to buy this car, I found it really helpful. I have some questions though. Do you know if VW is considering Xenon + LED lights for the headlights (like the 2012 GTI) for future upgrade?
Also, can you tell more about the Fender sound system ? how does it really sounds ?
Thank you very much. PS, the white version looks really classy, I'd definitely go for that one
Thanks for the compliment. It's nice to know that I'm not just making these videos for the pleasure of hearing my brain talk haha.
First off, I am uncertain of the option of HID headlights with LED strips in the future. I would hope that VW would consider something like that to further differentiate the front end from the standard Jetta.
As for the Fender system...if you're a music fan, you are definitely going to notice a crisper sound and deeper tones from the speakers.
Not saying that the standard audio isn't up to snuff, but there is a discernible difference with the Fender system. Enough for VW to offer it in more than one of their vehicles.
If there is anything else I can help you with, and that include sales, let me know!
Hi Brian, thanks for your feedback. Definitely a music enthusiast so i'd go for the Fender system. It's a little sad that HID lighting does not come standard on this car... Which would have gave it a more distinctive and classy look.
I Live near Montreal, Quebec so I would buy here ... unless you have the deal of the year for me ! haha.
Thank you! I'm an enthusiast through and through so I want to make sure that I convey this car to my viewers as completely as possible. Thanks for viewing and tell your friends!
