  • Yes, I would love... to see a series like that I think it would be fabulous and educational!!!

  • This book looks amazing! I love history and make up, Definitely on my 'to get' list!

  • The historical series would be a very interesting view.

  • Would love to see the historical series!

  • I need that book ! Believe it or not but in France, it's so hard to find books about make-up before the 70's/80's. :( The only one I found was so bad and the informations were wrong.

  • yes please do please do

  • Yes please! the series would amazing!

  • Ah! Yes, sounds splendid, please do it!

  • Yes Ma'am!!! Historical series!!!

  • I think we would all love to see your history of makeup and hair through the decades. It would be wonderful to see you break the video into two parts, normal, day time look and then a look that would work either for the evening or what a starlet would wear. What a treat for all of us to look forward to!

  • Do it! And thanks for the review- I was curious about this book!

  • The historical series sounds fantastic! Loved the review! And your hair seriously still looks great and classy even unstyled!

  • History of make-up and beauty is facinating. Did you know that Queen Elizabeth I whitenen her face using a mixture of white lead and vinegar... highly poisonous!

  • I would also love to see a historical makeup series - can't wait!

  • I think it's a great idea. I know I would like to see a 1920's makeup tutorial that was more "everyday" and colorful than the normal "flapper" type tutorial that we all see on youtube. hope that made sense.

  • Somewhat amused to see you mention/display the page with vintage ads, and realize that I recognize some of them. Boy do I feel old now. Hahaha... :)

  • Yes please to the history series!!! <3

  • i would like to see you do this "walk" through history! That would be so interesting

  • I love your idea!!! I'm also very interested in history of make up, and hairstyles, I hope some way I can get this book altough I think it is a little lot of money for me at the moment

  • That´s a really great idea to do the historical walk-through. I really, really hope you will do it.

  • thumbs up for a vintage series, can't wait!

  • Yes pls!!! I would love to know/ hear about makeup history!!! <3

  • Love the idea of the tutorial based on this book!

  • I would looooove to see a 2 part walkthrough!

  • I love Making Faces!

Yes, you should do the series, that would be so fun

  • I would love to see a by the era series, what a great idea !!

  • I would love to see that historical walk-through series if you do decide to make them! I think you could explain and show so many new information of those eras for most of us!

  • I think this is a wonderful idea! I would look forward to this beauty related journey through history!

  • I would LOVE a series like that!

  • So thrilled you did this review! I had no idea that book existed, but now I have to have it. I too am fascinated with the history of style and beauty. This video took me bck to when I was obsessed in high school and would spend hours in the library reading about it. Time I get back into it.

So that being said, please if you feel like you're really drawn to the project and you'd enjoy putting it together, then totally go for it :) I'll be watching and cheering you on the whole way! :)

  • Thanks so much for this! Totally have to get it somehow!! : ) Sanni xo

  • This book seems really neat. I just requested my library purchase it!

  • Yes, please do a walk through history series! xx

  • I like your hair. :)

  • @LolleLectric blech...this is SO leftover from two days ago. hahaha. But thanks.

  • What a great idea! Please do it!

  • I found a book that might interest you : "Vintage Style" by Sarah Kennedy! I read it in a bookstore and it was full of info about icons' style (makeup, fashion hair) and giving tips on how to recreate them! I'm going to get these two books! Also, I'd like to read the book on Max Factor!

  • @moviefan19S I have such a huge wishlist! haha Thanks for adding to it...

  • Love your walk-throught idea. I thought you might be interested in this flick...about the change from the stinky to the dandy in male fashion.

  • @ppaisley Thanks! I've seen that...so interesting.

  • A historical walk-through of make-up and hair would be fantastic! Please do the series!

  • I would love to see a historical walk-through of the decades of style! Please do the series! I'm especially interested in the idea of having history videos to go along with the tutorials.

Also, it makes me happy that you use BCE. :)

  • @fizzysassafrass as in Before Our Common Era?

  • @LisaFreemontStreet Yep! I don't often get to hear others use it.

  • I enjoyed your review. I was thinking about purchasing the book, and you have definitely given me the push to get it. I really want to read the section about the Vikings! For the series you are thinking about, how far back would you go? 10s-60s? A bit before or after? The 2-part per time period sounds fabulous!

  • @CorinnaAtomic Did you remove your comment about the pdf files? I actually DO have both of those on pdf that a viewer gave me. Was it you? haha

  • @LisaFreemontStreet Haha I did remove it and I sent you a message about it instead, but I don't think it was me who sent them to you. ;)

  • Yes Please do the series!

  • I think the series would be very interesting and how fitting to read the book & then bring it to life so to speak! :)

  • definitely will be purchasing this book =]

  • Yes! The walk through history series would be awesome!

  • Ooohhhh, yes, yes do that series! You must!!! Please do it. I said it before, but I personally would adore seeing some interviews with older women from those decades, just about how they did their makeup and hair and things like that. You are such a warm person, you would get a lot from those women. I love hearing from older generations about their old ways. Please consider it!

  • @lisaturtle13 What a great idea!! I'll definitely interview my mom for the 50's episode and I'll also think about finding someone for the others. I can flippin well interview myself for the 80's ...sigh. haha

  • Love your idea!!

  • Hey, maybe you could write the book! You have the knowledge! Fill in that void you see in the market!!

  • Thanks for showing us this fab book! It seems like there are alot of accurate photos & videos of looks from the mod 60's, the peace-hippie 70's,material girl 80's & techno 90's, but ya just don't see much on the 20's thru 50's. Sure, there are the photos of flappers, poodle skirts, saddle oxfords and pony tails, but not much TRUE representation of those eras. Would love, love, love it if you would do a history of those! :) You're the best!

  • I would love to see those vids! So excited!

  • Yes. Please. A Walk Through Makeup History Series. Thank you. ;)

  • That is a wonderful idea.. I think you could do so much with topics like that.. Can't wait

  • Oh Lisa and another question since your hair is that length now will you be making tutorials inspired by those with the same or similar cut as you from those eras? like, Anne Baxter? or 1920s wave.

I was considering getting this cut! Super cute!

  • @dbarroga right....:)

  • it would be so nice to see looks from different decades.

  • Yes a series in decades of Make-up would be very interesting to see from you. Your videos never disapoint. Always a good watch.

  • I really like the 'historical videos' idea! It would be very interesting!

  • What a wonderful idea! That will give us the opportunity to be educated as well...in my situation I will find that totally helpful since sometimes these things/information are not available for everyone. So I think many of us will appreciate you putting in some history in the vids! We'd be really grateful!

100 percent with ya! You always have amazing vids and great ideas! Thank you so much for always sharing! And PS You look great!

  • I would LOVE to see a series of looks through the decades. Please, do it. :) You explain things soo well and I learn so much. I'm really interested in getting that book. I do have the Vintage Face one and I love it.

  • I think you should do the series!

  • PLEASE do the walk-through of the decades- that would be sooo awesome :D

  • Would love to see a series based on the decades!

  • Jesus! $300 for that Vintage Face book?! I own it! It is so small.. It is a great little book tho

  • great!

  • The idea of walking us through the history of makeup sounds fabulous! Please DO do it doll! Can't wait! <3

  • That would be awesome. :D good idea

  • I love books, I love make up, I love watching trends changing through the decades..... this sounds like it has it all! Great!

  • If you decide to do it. I definitely will be a loyal "watcher" of every single video in the series :] xx

  • Does this book have examples of cosmetic usage from other places in the world, or is it mainly focused on European makeup history?

  • I love your history idea! Do it! :D

  • Yes! yes! Awesome idea :)

  • Oh yes! That sounds like a swell idea!

P.S I need to read that book. :]

  • That's such a fantastic idea... Very similar to the Starlet Series which I loved!

  • I love the history idea! :D

  • That is a fab idea! I would love to see you do a history of makeup/tutorial!

  • do it! i would love it!

  • I love that idea for your channel:)

  • Yes! I love this idea!

  • A series like that would go perfectly with the starlet series you did awhile back... And you absolutely could go all the way up to 70's-80's, because Kate Jackson had short hair and Molly Ringwald had short hair, and I'm sure they weren't the only ones but they were the first that came to mind in my personal catalog of favorites.

  • that would be awesome!!! i love all your videos! you are awesome!!! <3

  • Yes please;)

  • WONDERFUL idea!!!!

  • Fantastic idea!!

  • I've already commented on Facebook, but I wanna re-iterate how much I would LOVE to see the review of make up through the ages. Although I would miss your tutorials, who wouldn't, I think it would be totally worthwhile and I think your just the person to do it!

  • yes yes yes to the series :) its a splendid idea!!

  • I would really enjoy this. You are one of the best spoken, best informed people that I have seen on here so if anyone would do a fabulous job, it would be you.

  • There could be a way to get Vintage Face. I'm going to try for an Inter Library Loan since there are libraries that have it, and if your library has ILL then they will ship it for a small fee. Mine only charges $3, and Northeast State Community College in Blountville TN has a copy. ;)

  • I would absolutely love to see those videos! I sounds very interesting! So yes; do it, do it do it!!!!

  • Your ideas sound great! I'd watch all of those vids!! Also I saw this book on her site n thought oh who cares? It's all been said n done but you changed my mind!!

  • very nice book. I belive it will cost a huge amount of money for the shipping in Europe. Thank you very much for this info. It is definitly on my list of book to have but not really on the top of my list.

  • Would absolutely love to see a series on the decades! :D

  • that would be awesome ^^
