Sites like the pirate bay are hosted in countries that do not protect copyright laws. Most of these countries are small countries who tell themselves they are a free society. Lets say you invented something andf it was the best of its kind. You patent it and spend money marketing it. Now someone goes and starts copying what you have monitary investements in and giving it away for free. Movies, music, games, books all cost money to produce. Just cause someone has the ability to give it to others
You call pirates the people who are exploiting but you overlook the fact that people are being exploited by the people who claim to be fighting for them. Artists don't make shit for selling albums. You could sell 10 million records and still be in the red. Artists make money doing live shows.

Artists do not make money doing live shows unless they are at the very top of their profession. Live shows are extremely expensive loss leaders. The money is made in CD sales. If an artist sells 10mm CDs and is in the red, he has a thief or idiot as a business manager or is pissing his money away. That's not unknown.
I know of no laws broken by the mpaa or riaa. Pirate Bay is known for their blatant criminal activities, and for bringing huge numbers of children into crime.

The copyright provisions that were enacted by the founding fathers were based on actuarial tables, based statistically on how long the creator of a work was expected to live after filing for copyright. (which was NOT immediate, like patents, you actually had to file!) I just finished watching Of Gods and Generals. Reminded me of this place. The South actually believed that freedom meant the freedom to enslave other peoples. Thats what we see here. 1) If I make a toy for a child, that individual toy belongs to that child. If you LIKE that toy, and whip out a pair of calipers and take down measurements to reproduce the toy, and then proceed to do so, you have not devested my child of his toy, but have instead created a means for other children to play with identical toys.
2) A diary is not usually published to the public, nor is it read aloud in public. (whereas the child's toy is used in public.) Thus there is an expectation of privacy.

To say they are stealing from workers is incorrect. Employees are hired by Employers to provide a service. In order to classify something as stealing from the workers, they would have to steal their pay check or personal items.
Now you probably can't say its a moral action (which is ultimately relative) to download items, but give the fact that companies rather create laws and prosecute people, rather than change they way they bring their product, than they are partly to blame.

The TPB bus was not toured because of luring people to go to TPB, they did it because they wanted that bus mobile standing outside of the courthouse here in Sweden... If any pirate stumbled across them, they could donate if they wish, and that's what people did...

2. Unfortunately, torrents are used almost exclusively for illegal actuivity.

Sites like the pirate bay are hosted in countries that do not protect copyright laws. Most of these countries are small countries who tell themselves they are a free society. Lets say you invented something andf it was the best of its kind. You patent it and spend money marketing it. Now someone goes and starts copying what you have monitary investements in and giving it away for free. Movies, music, games, books all cost money to produce. Just cause someone has the ability to give it to others

Artists do not make money doing live shows unless they are at the very top of their profession. Live shows are extremely expensive loss leaders. The money is made in CD sales. If an artist sells 10mm CDs and is in the red, he has a thief or idiot as a business manager or is pissing his money away. That's not unknown.
I know of no laws broken by the mpaa or riaa. Pirate Bay is known for their blatant criminal activities, and for bringing huge numbers of children into crime.
