This was an accident. Zookeepers do not go into the cages with the big cats for feeding (here in NZ anyway). In this case, a door was accidentally unlocked whilst the keeper was putting food out and the lions got out. So perhaps stop calling him a retard...

Another keeper is supposed to lock the lions away in the back, while the other keeper puts the food into the enclosure. As you can see they got out. The only reason the Keeper held onto the Red Bucket (which had no food in it buy that stage), was because he felt that that was all he had left to protect himself with. You try thinging logically when you have 2 lions heading in your direction. He is lucky to be alive. Trust me he reacted brilliantly. He is my very brave husband.

truly rediculas comment above! did you not hear the zoo keepers telling the crowd to get away from the area... yes that includes the person filming the attack! the lions definately wouldnt of been shot and killed, tranquilised maybe, or possibly warning shots from a gun. It would have been far too risky to shoot live ammo when the lions were laying over the zoo keeper.

No the Lions were not killed, because the keeper Bob did not want that. He was in there territory accidently, they were not supposed to be there. Another keeper was supposed to have locked them away.
