  • Ya know.. a little PayPal Donation box on your website might be a good thing. I know I'd contribute, just because you've put so much work into this. Thank you so much.

  • Great piece of advice.

  • Can you send me lesson 14 please?

  • how come the next video is private ? =(

    lesson 14

  • Thanks

  • Well, since you asked, how about giving some lessons on how to play different styles, like piano bar style, stride piano, ragtime, how to accompany while playing in a band, accompany someone who is singing and to accompany yourself when you are trying to sing.

  • were's lesson 14?

  • when i read music i put numbers to the notes and that way is really fast to read it.

  • I could not understsand what he says for the end (during the last ten minuts). What are we supposed to do which is in the scale book? Could anyone write it here please? Thank you!

  • hey, nice cat! !sprite!

  • dood you remind me soo much of my friend dillon, lol...just thought i wouldmention that

  • great video thanks

  • This was very helpful. I play/read music much too slow, looks like I will need to get a scale book, do you have one that you recommend. I'm looking on Amazon, but have no idea which one's good.

  • hope you already bought a book by now...but if you haven't almost any scale book would do. As long as it has a lot of scales. i think you should find that information in the description of the prodeuct.

  • This was my favorite video so far. It immediately improved my sight reading. Thanks, Andrew.

  • Where is my friend Jim Carrey aka LYPUR :-)

    He`s so lucky

  • heh :) well I put up a tutorial on how to play fur elise a few weeks ago

  • Well, you just need more monsquaz.

  • Are Virtuoso exercices really good for sight reading? (by C.L.Hanon) Thanks for all the tips.

  • Hi! First of all, thanks for the videos! I'm learning a lot with you. After watching them, I think I'm gonna change my teacher!

Well, I would like to ask you which is a book scale book for me to buy. Thanks!

  • ur cat is so adorable lol

  • aww thanks

  • can u help me with playing both hands please!! thanks nice cat by the way she looks like my friends!

  • For a very pretty song look up "The river".

  • seriously 30?

  • sounds like you're on your way there! have you thought about getting a teacher? or do you already have one?

  • hmm, i've never played that song, i've heard it before though! you must be quite good if you're learning that song! how long have you been playing?

  • Any thing you know that will make hands grow bigger becasue i can't hit both c's without hitting others becasue my hand isn't big enough...im 15m is my hand still growing?! AAA

  • hey i got an idea! u can teach us the placement of the left hand and how to play the left hand becauase im right handed. thank you.

  • Thanks you for your teaching us

  • blah, i spend almost all my time on my keyboard when im not: playing hockey, basket ball, base ball, or out with my friends, or playing guitar, clarinet, and drums, but i have most of the day to play my keyboard.

  • Your tips on how to structure practice time are very helpful. Thanks.

  • Thanks for the compliment. practice structure is as important as what you practice! if you don't practice properly, you'll be going nowhere fast! You need a balance of technique, (scales etc) repitore development (learning new songs) learning to play by ear, recognize intervals etc (ear training) and of course taking some time to goof off and have a little fun!

  • how are you gonna play with ear?

  • Cute kitty~

Thanks for the lesson! You've taught quite a few sets of scales so far...um.. could you tell me when do we get to use those? IT's kinda hard remembering all of them without actually using them. :P

  • The scales are used all the time:P you play the every day or two to improve you finger speed/quickness, i know it's a bit tricky to remember them, but that's why they're on video that you can watch anytime you want to go back and see. also there are scale books out there that have every scale in them written out for you ^_^

  • Good lessons. I haven't watched them all, but maybe you could show some exercises to help develop independence of the hands? That's a problem I keep running into, and I've been playing for a while. If you haven't already made a video like that, of course.

  • The best way to develop independence is to play with both hands at the same time, but at different speeds, (example: playing quarter notes with the left hand and playing eighth notes with the right hand)think of one hand leading and one hand following

  • Thank you so much.

  • Great Lessons :-) I'm currently teaching my daughter (6.5 yrs old) so any advice would be great. Also, great to hear you're a Rex owner! I have an '85.

  • Hmmm, you're trying to teach your daughter hey? well, i find teaching in general, if you can find a way to make things fun, and add images into the things you're trying to teach her, it will help ALOT in the long run, it'll keep her more interested in what you're teaching, and she'll think of piano time as fun time, not as AHH get me out of here!!
