I've seen this fucking thing as well. About 6 months ago, I live in Australia btw. I was observing the night sky with my friend with his telescope. We thought this thing was a satelite at first but this fucking thing was moving too randomly to be a satelite. I THEN saw ANOTHER one (Or possibly the same one?) while I was sitting out on my back patio with my girlfriend and another friend on Friday night of the same week around 9:45 PM. It traveled from West to East, faster than the helicopters or planes, again at a steady pace. At first my friend thought it was a helicopter, but I pointed out it was just a solid bright red dot, nothing blinking or anything. It then disappeared while we were watching it, REappeared, then disappeared AGAIN.

Ok... so I saw this thing as well. I can't remember what day exactly, but it was a couple months ago. First time I saw it was on a Monday at around 9:00 PM in the hills of Whittier, CA. I noticed it as I was walking out from class, climbing the sky and it had a red tail on it. As I stared at it a couple friends came out and saw it too. It lost the tail, kept going up at a steady fast pace for another minute or so then disappeared right before our eyes.

I watched 3 of these in London on New Years Eve... and was with a former air traffic controller at the time. It was the weirdest thing any of us had ever seen. We watched them for about 5-7 minutes before they faded out of sight. I saw one like in the vid, then one appeared far away and moved to join the first... then one just appeared out of no-where forming a triangular pattern. Then after a few minutes they disappeared. I saw this exact same thing about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks into Jan 2009. in broad daylight slowly, steadily moving across the sky. and then it just went out. fireworks don't move like that, nor do they stay lit for that long while moving through the sky. compare it to the actual fireworks in the background.

i don't think this is an UFO, big ships have a sort off distress signal, that when they're in danger, they shoot up a red light in the air, and it moves very slowly(for your eyes). it's called a flare i think.
