I don't think I've ever seen a cat do the flehmen thing before, so I'm looking up videos to see if I can learn how to recognize it. It is much easier to spot when a stallion does the flehmen response around a mare in heat. ;)
I had the impression from the vids and photos I've already seen that cats open their mouths when they flehmen…but not always? Goodness, I've been around cats my whole life—some of my best friends have been cats—and I'm just now trying to learn about this…
