One thng that ipod has over the zune is the itunes interface. The interface on the zune marketplace is much more difficult to get used to. Itunes is much simpler. My brother has a zune and I have an ipod nano. I've used them both and I'm gonna stick with the ipod.
Use the Flashlynx video downloader in along with the Koyote video converter. You'll be able to download Youtube videos and convert them to mp3's if you want to. If you wanna put DVD's on there, you need to use DVD shrink in combination with Media Coder 0.7. If you just wanna find random downloads of music and videos, I recommend using Frostwire.
buy an ipod touch if you have a nano!!! because you can but all your nano songs in the ipod touch... the zune hd is the same as ipod touch but ipod is a bit better. Trust me, I had a zune, it broke and i got an ipod touch and its the best thing i ever buyed.

Zune doesn't need to do that. It's called the Zune HD, and it's a Portable Media Player, not a PDA, like the touch. They're going for two completely different markets. If your going to compare players, compare the right ones.

Had my Zyne 120GB for a year now its changed my life. I can have ALL my music with me in the car, plane, office, garage etc etc. I have loaded a few of my favorite movies onto the Zune as well, and with the large screen they are actually watchable its great. So I love this thing, but here are the downsides in my opinion: 1. No graphic equalizer, and 2: for video the format MUST be mp4 only. Plus theres something ironic about being "different" with a device from the global dominator, Microsoft.

Did you hear the Zune Leap Year Story? Once, there was a leap year, and the CPU in zune didn't know how to handle it and all the Zune devices froze.

I have the 2nd generation zune and I gotta say I haven't had any problems with it. Granted its my third zune but my first two were 1st generations so obviously they've made major improvments. I like the sleeker look of it and the battery life, I've found is really good, When I've played it for an hour or so, it barely goes down at all.
The radio feature is pretty sweet too. I don't care about apps and stuff, I don't need to have internet 24/7.
sorry it took a while to reply but it was in my pocket when i went outside then when i got back in it was cracked in multiple spots. screen is very weak and not that sensitive. i wouldn't recommend it especially if you are getting it because of the touch screen buttons are just as good. I don't like trackball like this. I love the touch screen yp-p3/ipod touch. yp-p3 is close to a multi player. Offer subway map and calculator and sketchbook. such a practical

Id think twice befor i bought one of theose zunes.....the software sucks hard!!!! it makes you load all the media into the program which takes forever and it tries to put all the songs into albums....you cant just access the drive on the file system and put the media in the directories.........I am really dissapointed with it..im taking mine back after christmas and spending a little more money on the archos ...... I would not reccomend this product

I have a zune 80gb and love it. I got a zune just to be different and skew off from the ipod generation (had an ipod mini handed down to me). If you do get an ipod, just BE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR MUSIC! I lost all my music when my hard drive crashed, and I couldn't redownload my songs from itunes (you HAVE to buy them AGAIN). I backed it up on a flashdrive, but had to reformat it when I reinstalled winXP. Praise the zune software to allow me to drag my songs from my zune to my computer.
Zunes come with free engravings, that was one of the many artistic patterns you can get on the back, Brian didn't really mention it but it does shine in the light oddly in that shot.

See, you can just say "the nano beats the 16gb zune". End of thought. Zune's are better then Nano/Classic iPods by far. The combination of the Zune pad, Radio, easier to use interfaces, lower price, and a bigger screen are all reasons that the Nano doesn't measure up.

Here are the FACTS. The Zune 120 has a larger screen and wifi, which take considerably more battery life. The iPod Classic has a smaller screen, better battery life, and is MUCH smaller, and has iTunes' vast array of entertainment(MOVIES AND TV SHOWS), but lacks features like radio(WHY), and a ZunePad(oh wait! that's just Microsoft's cheap knockoff of the clickwheel!) I would suggest going to your local BestBuy to try out the zune in person, then go to your local Apple Store to try out the iPod.
I've had a 30GB 1st genertion Zune for about a year. In my opinion, the Zune 120GB is a great invesment for anyone that wants a lot of storage, good battery life, games, movies (you need to install Cucusoft to do this), podcasts, and the ability to share songs with other Zune users. The Zune does not share some Ipod features- it is still very large in size, not as sleek and the Zune marketplace is average. It is compatable with almost all digital media files on your PC. I strongly reccomend it.

i-Pod, the main idea is you should. If you found a way that you don't have to, then good for you.
Zune has Internet, and whys the battery life so important. You're not going to be listening to it all day.
When you go to bed, just charge it.

sorry it took a while to reply but it was in my pocket when i went outside then when i got back in it was cracked in multiple spots. screen is very weak and not that sensitive. i wouldn't recommend it especially if you are getting it because of the touch screen buttons are just as good. I don't like trackball like this. I love the touch screen yp-p3/ipod touch. yp-p3 is close to a multi player. Offer subway map and calculator and sketchbook. such a practical

About the same price range as a iPod classic. I'd get it, now that iPod only makes the classic with 120G. 120G is too big.

Id think twice befor i bought one of theose zunes.....the software sucks hard!!!! it makes you load all the media into the program which takes forever and it tries to put all the songs into albums....you cant just access the drive on the file system and put the media in the directories.........I am really dissapointed with it..im taking mine back after christmas and spending a little more money on the archos ...... I would not reccomend this product

I have a zune 80gb and love it. I got a zune just to be different and skew off from the ipod generation (had an ipod mini handed down to me). If you do get an ipod, just BE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR MUSIC! I lost all my music when my hard drive crashed, and I couldn't redownload my songs from itunes (you HAVE to buy them AGAIN). I backed it up on a flashdrive, but had to reformat it when I reinstalled winXP. Praise the zune software to allow me to drag my songs from my zune to my computer.

Zunes come with free engravings, that was one of the many artistic patterns you can get on the back, Brian didn't really mention it but it does shine in the light oddly in that shot.

See, you can just say "the nano beats the 16gb zune". End of thought. Zune's are better then Nano/Classic iPods by far. The combination of the Zune pad, Radio, easier to use interfaces, lower price, and a bigger screen are all reasons that the Nano doesn't measure up.

No not really i've been using my zune since march and the battery goes at lease for a day in its lowest settings and without wifi...but cnet is right WI-FI does kill ur battery! YEAH U SHOULD GET IT!!! WAYYY BETTER THAN IPOD CUSTOMIZATION WISE!

Low setting meaning like out of the 3 display back lighting options of high medium low choosing low and also for amount of time the back light stays on which range from 1 sec to always on choosing a low time period..... Here are the FACTS. The Zune 120 has a larger screen and wifi, which take considerably more battery life. The iPod Classic has a smaller screen, better battery life, and is MUCH smaller, and has iTunes' vast array of entertainment(MOVIES AND TV SHOWS), but lacks features like radio(WHY), and a ZunePad(oh wait! that's just Microsoft's cheap knockoff of the clickwheel!) I would suggest going to your local BestBuy to try out the zune in person, then go to your local Apple Store to try out the iPod.

I've had a 30GB 1st genertion Zune for about a year. In my opinion, the Zune 120GB is a great invesment for anyone that wants a lot of storage, good battery life, games, movies (you need to install Cucusoft to do this), podcasts, and the ability to share songs with other Zune users. The Zune does not share some Ipod features- it is still very large in size, not as sleek and the Zune marketplace is average. It is compatable with almost all digital media files on your PC. I strongly reccomend it.
