it was a draw the moment china entered the war the chinese pushed us and our allies all the way past the 38th parallel. general macarthur asked president for authorization to us atomic weapons on chinese cities. president said no. macarthur went to congress. president fired him and put another general in command. that general pushed chinese and north koreans back to 30th. fighting prolonged along that line then called for a ceasefire. signed a truce with them hence the war ended in a stalemate.
Many Americans seem to believe that they liberated Korea from Japan's brutal rule and American must be seen as heroes from Koreans.
But if so, why did the U.S. leave Koreans to a more brutal rule than before? The first South Korean President, Syngman Rhee was a dictator and soon started torturing and massacring Korean people. He was supposed to be fighting against communism, but what he did was no different from what the great leaders in North have been doing.

@09GTAplayer In hindsight the USA really screwed up in giving vietnam back to france, the USA had supported Ho Chi Minh during WW2 and after they abandoned him he turned to the soviet union. Of course the USA did not realise back then they would be in a war in vietnam.

@babykevinxoxo Actually it was South Korea, with US aid, against China and I think Russia backed North Korea. The war never ended, technically it has just been a 50 year cease-fire since the time it began, as no peace treaty was signed. North Korea was far more capable at defeating the SK and USA armies, but it ended in a draw.

Developing countries are rising but they will also eventually decline and we will be top again, and the cycle repeats. Of course this isn't going to happen tomorrow it takes 100's of years for each 'turn' of the cycle (unless there is a world war).

Bombing the shit of a country such as the Korean War, Iraq War of 1991, Bosnian War, and Kosovo War, Iraq War, and Afghanistan actually achieves a lot of things including destroying large amount of military targets and not to mention it even demoralized and even weakened enemies forces. US has the best military hardwares in the world but they are inexperienced fighters in the Land Battle Field, especially in the mountainers and forest areas. Look at US in the Korean War & Vietnam War. They have lost both the wars to the Chinese, despite their best military hardwares. US soldiers simply can't withstand the hardships...

A more strictly controlled Capitalist welfare state (i.e. benefit, if your ill. Could also be on school attendance record, if you couldn't be bothered to learn a skill and contribute to the society why should the state support you) with a strong manufacturing industry is the way forward.

Developing countries are rising but they will also eventually decline and we will be top again, and the cycle repeats. Of course this isn't going to happen tomorrow it takes 100's of years for each 'turn' of the cycle (unless there is a world war).

Bombing the shit of a country such as the Korean War, Iraq War of 1991, Bosnian War, and Kosovo War, Iraq War, and Afghanistan actually achieves a lot of things including destroying large amount of military targets and not to mention it even demoralized and even weakened enemies forces. Air-support is very useful in a lot of things.

I'm of course serious. US is only good in a flat ground land battle field b'cos of their advance military hardwares and back-up by the air & sea superiorities. US has the best military hardwares in the world but they are inexperienced fighters in the Land Battle Field, especially in the mountainers and forest areas. Look at US in the Korean War & Vietnam War. They have lost both the wars to the Chinese, despite their best military hardwares. US soldiers simply can't withstand the hardships...

If you call that a good strategy, then I have to disagree. If not for their numbers, the UN (NOT only the US) would have, most likely, been able to hold their ground, thereby changing history.
