Some of the Megs are better than the English version... but the gospels sound best in the English version... the other countries just don't get the style. :(

Hello, I have a question. o n o

I learned basic French, and I noticed something odd.

In sentences like "je n'oserai", I know that the "ne/n" part is used to make it negative, but I was also taught to add a "pas" to it. Like, "je n'oserai pas" or something like that.

Is the "pas" a formal thing? I've seen other lyrics like that, and none of them have a "pas" in it.

I love learning this language, so, I'm very curious. Thank you very much!

@JollySock hey, well i don't really know to explain but i'm gonna try anyway. as the "ne/n'" is to make the sentence negative, sometimes we don't put the "pas" because in songs or poems it can make the verse a little too heavy if we use both. with or without the "pas" the sentence is correct, so you will be understood. i hope this helped you a little

Je suis francophone et je trouve que les chansons francophones ne sont pas représentatives de la grandeur, de la beauté des paroles que d'autres langues nous proposent entre autres les langues plus évoluées,... =)ex: Les langues slaves qui utilisent un vocabulaire plus recherché et des tournures de phrases plus poétiques! Is it sad that this song (and others) actually helped me in French I? It helped me get the pronunciations down and now that I've actually gone through the class, I'm very proud to say that I can translate a little of it lol I feel like a dork but a very happy dork.

I really like it but in Spanish the translation of mal is bad and on French you translated it as hurt-I don't know anything else, besides that it's great!

@lCENSOREDI The original poster was actually mistaken. Mal can also mean hurt, sick, and can be an emotional state as well (In Spanish). He/ she probably has a limited understanding of the language. But like someone else said, this song isn't in Spanish.

I don't know why, but whenever I listen to songs in multiple languages the French version always snags 1st or 2nd place! XD I know you're not a native speaker or whatever, but gosh, being around people who spoke the language often I KNOW that you did a great translation of the song. :D

The vid itself is the only thing that's buggy - the lyrics need to pop out more and the volume is very low (which is a problem for people who like to sing but aren't very good at it. ^^;)

@musicalbookwrm48 you might want to get a program like Audacity (free), then extract the audio from the movie file, raise the decibel balance in Audacity and then put the audio file back into the video file using iMovie (Mac) or Windows Movie Maker.
