@southpaw7890 Ford finally got it right with the new 2011 5.0 motors. Motors have a 11.0:1 compression and still can take a supercharger at 9psi and make 600 rear wheel horsepower! Still $35,000 is a lot for a new gt mustang

@southpaw7890 the problem with the 4.6 2v's resides in the heads themselves. a new set of heads is a huge gain on these cars.

@Storm7289 I agree 100% The heads suck, put a set of new trick flow 2v heads on these motors and you will gain 80rwhp.

@Storm7289 Yea which is a steal :) Heads, cams, and coilovers/ tubular control arms, tubular k member are my next mods. Hoping for 350rwhp with the heads and cams, and 75mm TB, JLT fender mounted cai, and shorty headers.

@Storm7289 I already have the jlt fender mounted cai and 75mm bbk tb installed. I had a ram air intake before but with it sucking all that hot engine air I ended up losing about 8rwhp in the midrange and 5rwhp on the top. The stang I barely drive in the rain and isn't my daily, but if it was I can see where it would get really dirty, fast and be very sketchy in the rain.

Yea i had it on the dyno @ db. I was surprised the numbers were that high also, my my aem cai didnt come with a heat shield.:( I got one of the first aem ones on the market so maybe thats why?

@Yamaha170 The JLT should have cooled things down. The JLT I have on my Cobra keeps the Intake Temp down to around 70 during the day and 50-60 degrees at night. Keeps the air charge really cold. I got those temp numbers from my SCT tuner during a Data Logging session...

stock 99-04 mustang GTs produce 213-218 Rwhp i have seen many videos here on youtube just search 1999 mustang review and a video will appear where they compare GT with comaro. . 305hp comaro produces 286RWHP and GT 218RWHP with manual tranny

@khan3184 All depends on the dyno and temp and many variables. For instance a dynojet would read about 12% higher than a dyno dynamics dyno. But most stock gt's ive seen have been between 225 to 235rwhp on dynojets. Im sure some gts do make around 215rwhp

@khan3184 218rwhp on the windsor engine u know 99-00 but romeo engines 01-04 have more agresive cams off of the lincon's engines and produce from 230rwhp to 240rwhp and 270rwtq my 02 did 233rwhpand 272rwtq bone stock

i believe a stock 99-04 mustang gt will dyno at 235 to the wheels

@MustanGT2003 Yea thats right. This was on a dyno dynamics dyno which reads 12% lower than a dynojet. So really power is closer to 275rwhp and 308tq. Still not very fast. Needs a supercharger or turbo :)

I have the same color mustang but it's a 04 40th aniversery. I have a vortech v2 sq s-trim pushing 10 psi bbk shorties which I hate mac offroad h pipe 40 series flowmasters aluminum driveshaft 3.73 gears 75mm holly throttle body msd cops it has 384 hp at the rear wheels and 350 torque with a slight exhaust leak

@SuperMustang2004 Nice solid numbers man! Next summer im going to get a vortech v3 or procharger for sure. Going with a centrifigal thats self lubricated so I don't have to tap that oil pan. Supercharging is the only way to go for affordable power!

hmm I'm not sure, I'll let you know if I can burn out or not whenever I actually decide to push my car, havent even gotten over 4000 rpm probably, but thanks for the information about the hp being at the flywheel, i didnt know you lose that much hp by the time it actually gets to the rear wheels, but im guessing my car would dyno somewhere around yours since i have nearly identical add ons as you, thank you again

Oh, yeah I've noticed that, I just recently got mine though, probably about 3 weeks ago and I havent tried to burn out yet (guess that won't work) but tell me how the other tires your going to get work, and thats a pretty good gain from a tuner, how much hp was it rated at? because i believe the 2002 gt's came stock with like 260 hp? and with all of the add ons you have like me it must be higher not 244 but thats the real wheels does the dyno give you your actual hp?

@ummblah123 Well thats the problem with the Nittos they dont grip for my car...maybe I got a bad set of tires?? IDK Yea 1999-2004 Mustang GT's came with 260hp and 302 Torque but that was at the flywheel so around 225rwhp is what a stock Mustang would put down on the dyno. With my mods, Im right where I should be power wise. So I can't complain

Wow, I basically have the exact same car as you man, same exact color, nice and shiny like yours, except my exhaust tips are flowmasters but I have 4.10 gears as well mine, is a manual though, is your's? I also have a cold air intake, don't have the tuner though, is it worth it at all? 500 dollars seems like a lot, how much did it help you out? I also have the Nitto NT555's what do you mean by its hard for you to hook them up? but anyways like your car, it looks nice.

@ummblah123 Yup Mine is a manual also. I gained only a peak of 5rwhp with my tuner but gained 35rwhp in the midrange and 40tq in the midrange with the tuner which I could really feel. So I think it was worth it, you can get by with a $380 tuner which will do the same job, I just wanted one that displayed my cars informaition such as torque and horsepower.

@ummblah123 No matter what I do to to try and get my Nitto tires to launch they spin out too much and I can't get traction. I've tried burnouts, no burnout, low tire pressure, high tire pressure, nothing seems to work. Im buying some 315-30-18 Hoosier R6 DOT drag radials which I know will hook up. Thanks!

Thanks, Yea not too loud and a great sound. You will really feel a big difference will the gears especially to 60 mph. I have a hard time hooking up with my Nitto NT555s so for sure go with the drag radials.

Hey was wondering if the SCT LiveWire was worth the money or could you find something better? I have a 98 boss that im doing time runs on a 1/8th and want to get some idea about the tuning and stuff. thanks.

I like the SCT Livewire but for 580 bucks its really steep. I like that I can constantly monitor my engine, fuel, air, horsepower etc... But really I didn't need the Livewire, I could have got by with the 320 buck SCT Xcailber 3 tuner. It took me a while to get used to using the tuner but now I finally think Im getting used to it. I got some good increases in power with this tuner but after taking this car to a professtional he really made power. Hope that helped.

That sucks dude about the hail damage. I love laser red but my all time favorite color would be Sonic Blue which was found on the 03/04 Cobras. Thats the color I would pick!
