  • drugs hellllpp erasee the built up shadoww, makes things easier tobe aware of because most of the past is forghotten thanks to the mystical experience

  • "Meditation, by itself, really won't take care of shadow elements . . ."

Not necessarily true. Certain types of body-sensing sitting practices address "shadow elements" very effectively as they arise in the body -- which they inevitably do.

What IS true . . . is that those practices are pretty slow-developing ("inevitably" can be a long time) and not everyone is temperamentally suited for them.

Good psychotherapy is admittedly quicker (if you're temperamentally suited to it . . .).

  • Meditation is not slow developing, in fact, it is the only things that has showed to cause development on a consistent basis, unlike psychotherapy and many other approaches.

For shadow practices specifically, the 3-2-1 Process and Self-Inquiry are recommended.

    Are we misunderstanding one another?

I'm suggesting . . . that body-sensing meditation practices act INDIRECTLY against shadow and so take a longer time.

Ideally, psychotherapy leads to the original experience whose ongoing denial is the source of the shadow's energy -- and so DIRECTLY reduces that energy.

Body-sensing meditation, on the other hand, leads to experience of the shadow's energetic manifestations in the physical body -- and so INDIRECTLY reduces that energy.

  • Right, but research didn't show psychotherapy to directly do that either.

That's why there are things like the 3-21 Process and scientology (kidding).

Actually, I found a lot of the Dianetics "spiritual technology" pretty worthwhile looking into in it's own right.

It's just advisable (generally speaking) to do so . . . independently of the Scientology religious framework.

  • @greenrate Interesting, Thanks!
