@Georg5555 lots of gain and feedback from the amp,. if you hold that note with a lot of gain and move your guitar really close to the amp (like right upto it)
@Georg5555 the studio version Gary use's a guitar fitted with a Fernandes sustainer pickup system, he could hold that note (and the live Parisienne walkways) for as long as he wanted ... even after turning the amp OFF
@dmb3305 Don't forget Peter Green and his tone on the Bluesbreakers instrumental "The Super-Natural" was rated as one of the fifty greatest of all time by Guitar Player. I do love this version by Gary Moore, but in any list of great blues guitarists you can't leave out Peter.
@muzieksamurai - Not quite the correct order my friend...... Santana developed his sound (like all of us musicians) by listening to and borrowing from many influences.... And Peter Green was one of Santana's biggest influences. Santana would later name one of his cds "SUPERNATURAL." But Greeny was i year older than Santana, and he developed the sound that Sanata later developed to make it his sound.
My wife's favourite Gary Moore song. It sends shivers down my spine too, what an awesome tune and an incredible interpretation by the master. May he rest in peace.
I know that, I was a bit under the influence of fermented vegetable juice while writing my original comment, thus posted it twice and then forgot all about it ;)

If heaven exists, I'm sure Gary is now jamming with fellow Irish bluesman Rory Gallagher making great music.
