  • hmm something seems off here. not doubting what is claimed but my 2006 GT has damn near the same mods. Exhaust, Intake, Tune and a 75 shot. Im still on stock gears and can take ls1 camaro's that are mostly stock (exhaust/intake)

  • @acexbox I read them. I don't make posts without reading prior comments. You say this modded mustang pushes 250hp at the wheels? Bro my stock 06 GT put out 269hp and 284ft lb torque..BONE STOCK. It hasn't been dyno'ed since the mods but with the nitrous, I would say around 350whp, give or take 10hp. So this car with all these mods is putting out less hp than it was stock?

  • @bbrewer5 uh no. lost power with higher numerical gears. it takes less energy to turn them. Not to mention it was using the NITROUS tune, which means timing was pulled a bit to compensate, colder plugs, etc.

  • @acexbox Still a little odd.. I run autolite HT0's which are a step colder than the factory plugs, and my timing has been retarded by 2 degree's to stop detonation.

    Just incase one of us are missing something here...is the 250hp on or off of spray, because the way you are telling it is that it was on spray. This could be more believable if it was just motor...

  • sounds like you put it on a incorrect dyno man sorry but i went to a tuneing event at a car show and watched a 05 07 and a 2010 3.73 gear gt dyno and the 05 putdown 230 even stock and with mods 245 after full exhaust intake and a tune. the 07 had 235 whp with a paper k&n stock and torque numbers were close to hp and the 2010 had 245 whp. watched all 3 car drive down the 1/4 mile at 14.0 and slower

  • @camarorswright how far above sealevel were you? maybe if you are 4000+ft above sealevel. most of them around here dyno at 260-270whp. 230hp would be a 24% drivetrain power loss which is flat out unheard of this day and age, especially out of a manual trans. These cars on average have about a 11-13% loss, not a 24%

  • man im telling you the 3v 4.6 engine was hardly a 300hp motor even when the bumped up to 315 in 08 or 09 i know alot about te mustang all years and i know that you roleing on a crown vic frame and you weigh in at over 3550 and i know that dynos can be wrong and a 05 puts down 23o whp stock makeing it hardly a 295 motor hp car and a 98 ls1 camaro will lay down 295 whp bone stock with ls1 intake this makes a race between the to not even close dont feel bad a 04 2v only dynos 215 whp at most.

  • @camarorswright bullshit. My stock 2009 GT AUTOMATIC Vert with 3.31 gears put down 261WHP 254 RWTQ. With intake/tune/exhaust/3.73's Im at 296 RWHP 291 RWTQ. This car ran a baseline 1/4 mile at 13.7 @ 102 and now with drag radials runs 13.1 @ 106.

  • @tacoma54 sounds like you need to hit dady up for some more bolt ons and a cam kit cause my 6-speed bolt on ss runs 12.4 on street tires spinning1st 2nd and some of 3rd not to mention im clocking at 115 radials would put me around 11.9 and my friend has a 2000 z28 with bolt ons 3.42 gears and 3500rpm stall automatic car running 12.12 at 114mph with street tires. and the z28 did this on pass times at z max drag way so suck it slow ford boy race u some iroc's or lt1 Z's more in your class

I can see where the 3v was beat by the higher speed roll and I'm not really sure why you would do a 40+ roll in those two cars. I have seen a local 3v with intake, exhaust, and tune take a stock WS6 by a car. I don't see a lid and cutout doing enough to take the same car with a 75 shot.

  • LOL do your homework on LS1's. They have broken into the 12's bone stock. The LS1 in the video wasn't stock FYI. The Mustang made 248rwhp on the motor which will NOT run with a 326rwhp LS1. Not to mention the Mustang was on 4.30 gears which hurts him from a roll. His nitrous pass was 348rwhp which was pretty much a spike. Which explains the results of the video. Even on a 150 shot we were neck to neck LOL. Yea the car wasn't running right IMO, but I still beat him. Sucks.

  • ok, for one, a buddy of mine has a 2000 formula(LS1 same as the camaro) he has a lid, long tube headers, o/r y pipe, and catback, he is making less hp than my 07 GT with long tubes, cai, o/r prochamber, borla stingers, 3.90 gears, motion delete plates and underdrive pulleys, we run almost identical on the street or track, i am about to be spraying 100 shot and so is he, there is no way that slowmaro is going to pull that stang on a 75 shot, i dotn believe it for a second....

  • To add to this post, I really think Ford, Chevy and Dodge all make great performance cars. These duals are tiring, because, either they pit one car that is more expensive and has more horsepower than the other, or it is modified in some way. This is true also if the mustang wins. I just viewed many UNFAIR contests, where mustangs blew away chevy's and dodge's that were either handpicked poorer models, or flat out less expensive models.

  • Great cra to build off of (no shit) heads cam intake exhaust pulleys and a good tune and your looking at close to 450 hp slap a 100 shot on there and you have a real contender. Good luck with that. I just want a 490 or even a 500 hp naturally aspirated modular engine basically a stroked and poked 4.6 to a 5.1 or damn near a 5.2. I will then add a dual stage N.O.S kit. that should be fun. n/a engines seem to be more responsive.

  • Great car man I am a old GM guy 1st car was a 77 Z28. Now I own a 2002 mustang GT that I bought through Military New Car sales. It was one of those cars that was built right you know what I mean. I had a Bubby at my last CMD with a 99 Z28 bro I dogged him from a 45 rolling onto the highay passing his ass in a hurry then I would repeatedly kill him ligt to light, time after time. it had the LT1. I drove it and was not at all impressed. It was nice to look at though wht w/blk stripes 6spd.

  • A 99 Z28 has a ls1 not a lt1 and a 2002 gt aint gonna rock a 6 speed ls1 unless the driver cant drive stick. 260 crank horse power aint shit dude. Hands down the ls1 reasponds well to mods just like the 03-04 cobras NOW those cars are tough! I was a ford guy back than.i owned a 96 gt and lt1s would walk all over me to make matters worse even a 96 impala ss gave me a close race.   • I hear ya , it may not have been a 99 but I know it was a LT1 and it had a 6 speed and it hit the rev limiter at a disappointing 5200 rpm. He threw me the keys one day after we had raced and I really must say that my car was the faster. a 96 only had like 220 hp at the crank. They were weak as hell I am surprised the SS did not kill you. Now I bet there are people in here that would argue that as well. Serious as a heart attack. I beat him at every light I had a CAI and a tune.

And a H/C/I LS1 can make easy 450+rwhp.

  • Acexbox is right, you'll loose. I've handed many a Mustang it's ass with my N/A lightly modded Z28. Mustangs are girl cars, it's not my fault Ford underpowered them. You do the math. 3800lbs with driver, 300hp. Camaro, 3620 with driver 325 stock HP. My LS1 traps 108 at 3200ft corrected D/A, all motor. Most stangs here usually trap 98 or so.

  • an 06 07 mustang gt will give a stock ls1 camaro a very close race so say it like it is not like you s like it to be,as if that car s gonna beat a g.t on the bottle.

  • Just look at the trap speeds, there is nothing close about it. ET's dont matter from a roll. The Mustang did make 348rwhp on the initial hit after that it dropped. It's just a spike on the dyno sheet. That's how the Mustang lost. Not to mention the 4.30 gears killed it.

  • listen an 07 gt with nitrous is a twelve second car so this run is bullshit cause that camaro is a 13.5 at best,there is no juice on that stang.

    The Z28 in the video went 13.0 @ 110mph. The Mustang went 13.7 @ 102mph with intake and tune. Dont speak out of your ass.

  • listen first off watch your language secondly no stock ls1 camaro or other runs twelves,thirdly a mustang gt on juice will kill a stock ls1.I am a car dealer and i boght a stock ls1 automatic z28 ss this summer 1999 it ram 13.6 at 104 my 06 gt does as good and its stock ,so add nitrous and it is no longer a race
