  • thanks to share this video.

  • I did a flashing LED with less parts :O)

  • is there any other way without 555 timer??

  • Comment removed

  • hi, i'm trying t turn a magnet on and off using a timer to control speed of the on/off...any ideas ?

  • thank u ! our project was a success ! :)

  • Using a bigger capacitor would have what effect on the circuit?

  • @555timercircuits is there any way to copy data from one chip to another ? Email me at mossjordon38@yahoo.com or message me

  • @907Customz Not with a 555. Try researching microcontrollers.

  • @555timercurcuits

What type of capacitor was that?

  • what voltage is the led that you're using

  • @yankovic1234 It's a standard 5mm LED. They can handle a range of voltage but MUST always be used with a current limiting resister (R3 in this flashing circuit) else they will blow..

  • Spent a lot of time setting up bread board left, right and upside down. Cant get the LED to blink. Have turned led around, cap around, and double check the double check. Any ideas of what I have done wrong.

  • @jerrycarter1944 stupid question but, did you check the 555 timer its self? and if so maybe the chip its self got fired or something.

  • @jerrycarter1944 Make sure the LED works and also that the 555 timer IC is round the right way.

  • Is there any way to make this blink faster?

  • @501stlegioncommander I believe if you change the resistors it will going faster/slower.

  • gracias por tu video me ayudo mucho y es de los que pocos sirven en realidad

  • the value of resistor 470k or 470 ohms ? plese reply

  • @zaiban03329777747 It is 470K ohms.

  • what up with the music. doesnt anyone talk?

  • cool, mine worked! it wasnt working at first and i flipped the IC and apparently that was the soultion

  • what is the name of this song?

  • @markusadolfo1 "Hey There Delilah" by Plain White T's :)

  • @555timercircuits thank you

  • Those breadboards are epic :)

  • @lonesoldier33 and epiccaly expensive. the one he is using costs about 10 bucks. cheaper than waisting pcb's but still

  • @jff0225 You can get them cheaper, but for any hobbyist a breadboard is essential. I have a few of them ;)

  • pfff I tried it twice, and I wasted 2 555's :(

they really smell when they burn man

and did you connect pin 3 and 4 with a 1k ohm resistor?!? that wasn't in the schematic.

  • @jasper487 The circuit which this video relates to has more information (like the schematic) on my 555 Timer Circuits web site (link provided above). Pin 3 is the 'output pin' and is shown in the schematic with the 1k resistor. Pin 4 (and pin 8) should be connected to the positive battery source. I hope that helps :)

  • Is there an alternative to 1uf capacitor coz I can't find one in my local store.

  • @huzi94 Yes, you can vary the capacitor. I suggest a 2.2uF.

  • after hours of searching and trying only this guide worked and it is perfect! thank you for bringing this for us. :)

  • @hellofromhugo Thanks for the comment. The 555 Timer is a great chip and my web site (linked from video description) has many more fun circuits to build. I also add more videos as I build them so subscribe to my channel if you want to know when more are done ;)

  • ooooo i have a doubt i did everything but i cant get the led to flash ....what could be??

  • @masterofyngwie Have you made sure the IC is around the right way? Make sure the notch is on the right hand side. It's hard to see in the video.
