yes, there are 3 of them, form the start you can pay with Hajime Saitou, Himura Kenshin and Sagara Sanosuke, but if play and pass the whole game without usin "Desperation Mode", in this video as example, without being Battousai you automaticaly unlock Shinomori Aoshi

This is like of like Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles, because if Naruto gets hurt too much in battle, he goes Kyuubi mode and berserk - If Kenshin gets too pissed off, he goes Battousai mode and berserk. ^.~
