  • The Romanian title of this tune is Foie Verde (Green Leaves). The hora form passed into the Jewish (klezmer) repertoire from the Romanian/Moldavian tradition, Jewish musicians (klezmorim) having worked extensively together with Romanian Gypsy (and 'ethnic' Romanian) musicians throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries.
