rasmussen skews numbers all the time... know why rasmussen doesnt poll "americans"... but only what they consider "likely voters"? Because they lump democrats into the unlikely voters category... and thus it helps them to achieve their bias agenda. They also tend to load their poll questions.
Polls that actually ask americans what they think of the healthcare bill show that 65% of americans are in favor.
37% of Rasmussen likely voters identify themselves as Democrats, as opposed to 32% Republican and 31% not affiliated. The sample is approximately 45,000 people.
Don't make up things to attempt to validated your -skewed- point of view. :)
let me just ask you this.... why do they always make the distinction of "likely voters" why do they never just say "of people polled"?
If they just reported the answers they were given, as they were given... the poll would be much more democratic. Why else would a polling agency purposely exclude a good portion of their data?
Their entire sample is made up of likely voters. Why would they robocall unlikely voters, as they do not excercise their rights and therefore have no influence on policy?
depends... if you are a senator that cares more about reelection than what people want... go with likely voters. If you are a new senator that only cares about serving the people... then go with what the people want.
i am referring to the 1.2 trillion dollar price tag on the reform. you dont sound like you know the facts if you believe that it simply magically creates a public option that will not cost any money to the government. if this were the case do you honestly think that anyone would oppose it??
Why don't we take some of the trillions we hand to defense contractors to blow up and rebuild buildings in the middle east (and arm the warlords and black bag people we don't like), some of the billions we pay in interest to the Federal Reserve, some of the billions made through fraud and insider trading on wall street, and a little bit from the corporate interests that make a profit by denying people treatments? That might put a dent in the cost...
Republicans have killed thousands of Americans with their stunts and delay theatrics over the last 8 months. Enough is enough. The American people have spoken and they want health care reform with a strong public option. No more Republican nonsense in the US Senate. Call your Senator and tell him you want health care reform passed in the Senate through the reconciliation process.
The people he is speaking to genuinely don't give a damn about us who voted for them. They are completely and wholly owned by their corporate donors, the same ones that got "bailed out" on our dime after killing their companies with greed, and the same ones that want you to be forced to by private insurance, and still pay huge deductibles so high you will still go bankrupt.

jhamm999; yes people die, but the point is that there are so many out there who are dieing needlessly. you think we don't need to worry about them because of your mother, I don't think so.
my mom died in 2004 from colon cancer 7 mos after the operation. she had medicare, tricare, supplemental. the point is people die not from lack of ins, but the disease they contract. that is why he is an intellectual dishonest publicity whore.
You can die from a small cut on your finger if you don't treat it correctly. The study confirms that many thousands of deaths can be prevented with proper treatment. Are you against that?
we have a federal law that says even if you don't have ins. you have to be treated. so it's not a matter of getting care. if people feel inhibited in seeing a doctor you can;t blame it on anyone.
Righto ristoril. In case you haven't noticed jhamm999 bases every one of his decisions on what pastor tells him sunday morning. He, like most repugnicans/wingnuts, completely lack the ability to examine a situation, analyze the various solutions, and through education and critical thinking choose the best decision.
If you go the ER with chest pains and you're diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and blocking cardiac arteries you better either have some sort of good insurance, or you better get your affairs in order. They don't do cardiac bypass in the ER and they are under no obligation to give you that surgery for nothing.
im sure your mom would not want other sick and dying people to get free healthcare too. afterall, the weak should just die from the "disease" they contract. of course, we dont want any intellectual and dishonest publicity whores coming around and helping us--screw it! let everybody who has a disease just die slowly, and we won' t have to worry about it. that way, your mom can rest in peace :)
yeah my 84 year old mom who raised 8 kids think people should help themselves. also your lucky you didn't say that disrespectful shit about my mom to my face tough guy. otherwise you would be in need of some medical help you prick.
Define what is wrong with being poor? (other than not having the necessities of life).
Mentally ill people do not necessarily have mentally ill offspring.
The majority of locked up criminals today are drug sales related (or economic crime) - someone trying to earn a living by selling what the public is buying. So we lock them up and we pay for their upkeep, maintenance and health care.
the majority miscarriages happen in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy too. Surgery for miscarriage is a short procedure to empty a womb...During the procedure, your surgeon will pass a soft plastic tube through your cervix into your womb. The pregnancy material is removed by suction which in the US cost you money to do if it natural or otherwise
Hey jhamm999, You're ranting and raving here about abortion, yet you have a wholesale objection to health care reform.
Maybe you can clear something up for me. I've never been able to figure out why backwards, uneducated, ignorant conservatards like you only care about people BEFORE they're born?
again you read me wrong. i support healthcare reform, just not one that includes a govt takeover. reform it thru the private sector. also explain this to me. obama, pelosi and the bunch say the govt option will be self sufficient thru premiums p-aid from people who want to join. if that is the case then why is it going to cost 1 trillion dollars?.btw we care for both the woman and the unborn. that's why there are crisis pregnancy centers.
You're so full of shit. There has been no, and is no, realistic way to reform health care through the private sector. It's just a GOP talking point. As such, you're against any sort of meaningful health reform.
You still didn't answer my question: why are you against measures that will provide basic, affordable healthcare to every U.S. citizen?
how do you know if it has never been tried? we can make a law that allows people to buy ins. across state lines. i did answer your question, just not in the way wanted me to. of course if you love govt run healthcare there is a country just 90 miles south of florida you can go to.
"e can make a law that allows people to buy ins. across state lines."
Another GOP talking point that solves nothing. The largest insurance companies already operate in nearly every state, but are forced by state law to abide by their requirements. Are you really in favor of taking power away from the States and giving it to the fed. gov? Hmm?
You bozo, health care reform is not a gov. takeover of health.
I haven't seen you in a few weeks, and I gotta say you're not any better informed.
explain then barney frank saying to a constitutient that a public option is a backdoor way to a single payer. btw it is not about taking power away from a state. if you could get the same coverage for less money from another state why not?
dude even tho Im not a U.S. citizen I'm all for the the health reform...a little vid to show you how we run our heath system in the UK... watch?v=BbAWNnGSVCw
well lets look at the other side of the coin. The child is born, the parents can't afford heath insurance, the child gets sick, they don't go to the hospital, child dies, so before its born " we gota protect the most defenseless and helpless" but when the child is born "you on you f**kin own kiddo if we can't profit from your birth" but "if you manage to live to military age we can send you somewere to profit from you death. dehumanizing is'nt?
excalty!! a conservative republicans way of thinking which is happing right now in the U.S. tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock! another child has die in the U.S. because the parents can not afford heath insurance... pro-life = free health care to all U.S. citzens
The debate is on Health Care Reform. My point was that you fight to prevent abortion but you don't fight to offer that child affordable and adequate health care when it is born. Nowhere did I mention a mother or a father abandoning their child. Also abortion is a choice by the woman carrying the fetus not government trying to kill unborn babies. You seem really good at missing the point.
then why the canard about defending for themselves?. isn't it the parents responsibility to care for them? the govt has no place to fund abortions was my point.
He doesn't comment on his district because he is TRYING to pass health care reform as opposed to the people he named who are trying to prevent health care reform.
Look there no point trying to explain yourself to Jhamm999... heres why, "lives of the unborn" that just doesnt make sense, kinda like "the lives of the undead" ya see were I coming from...
Abortion is legal, and I'd rather a woman that has decided to get one be safe and have it paid for so she can get it safely done as opposed to not being able to afford and going to a non-professional only to possibly get an infection and die. We can't prevent these women from making what is rightfully their choice but we can make sure they make their decisions in a safe environment and have proper resources to protect them from infection.
well lets consider the natural way a woman has an abortion. A miscarriage is a pregnancy that ends before 24 weeks, which is before most developing babies are able to survive outside of the womb. why do we not care about them given that they too have a heartbeat and brainwaves ?
or they just claim to be in order to avoid the wrath of the far too paid attention to religious commandos. And when they do this in order to avoid confrontation with these bullies, they use this acquiescence as proof that what they 'claim' is the living proof.
Hey, ya gotta admit, witch doctors have had tens of thousands of years of practice, they know just how to keep the tribe buying into their bull shit......it IS a sweet job after all.
Why are men who never want to support anyone so concerned about abortion? I really don't get it? You don't want the government in your health care business - why the fuck don't you just stay out of others?
@colossus48 - bullshit. If Bush would have invaded for humanitarian he should have just said so. Here's why he told a different lie: humanitarian reasons would have only worked with liberals, because most conservatives don't give a rat's ass about humanitarian missions. Well, unless it's for white people and then it's okay.
The second reason your wrong can be reduced to one word: Darfur.
I didn't say why they went in there. I said why I supported the war in Iraq. Tyranny was removed, now it is up to the people to make for themselves, which they are doing, the kind of government they would like.
You just want to talk bad about Bush for something...
I answered your question and you took my answer and ran in whatever kind of direction that you wanted...that is kind of nutty behavior.
@colossus48 Did you know that the Bush War has resulted in the deaths of approx. 1/2 million Iraqis? Saddam didn't come anywhere close to those numbers. I thought humanitarian missions were intended to help people, not kill them. I guess that's why I don't understand "conservatives".
Since you're on the humanitarian kick: What about Darfur? Why didn't we send troops there? Could it be because there isn't an oil there?
It is about tyranny and freedom from oppression, not body counts, but since you brought it up, Saddam killed over 200,000 at one time, and many others whenever he wanted. That 200,000 number is 2/5ths of 1/2 million, but that isn't the point, tyranny is.
We haven't sent troops to Darfur, because we are already spread very thin! Not that we would but that is a good reason. Anything else you want to blame on Bush, or assume about me?
Did colossus48 type "Tyranny was removed"? Am I reading that right... I thought bush invaded Iraq base on them having weapon of mass destruction yano, the ones that...well...were never found!!
@djpitchperfect You read it right. When I asked him if he supported the Boosh War for Cronie Enrichment he answered with his nonsense about it being a humanitarian measure.
hahaha.... yeh thought colossus48 was just another victim that dosn't have a clue...humanitarian measures? yup went to iraq to spread love & peace I wonder did they take there rainbow flags too?
Tyranny was removed" Am I reading that right? I thought bush invaded Iraq base on them having "weapon of mass destruction".. yano..the ones that...well...were never found!! if you want a reminder type weapon of mass destruction & click search above.

Here's the solution:
Let the registered dumocrats "opt in" on their IRS form this year to your government health scare plague, and go ahead and tax them for it.
AND
Let the Republicans "opt out" on their IRS forms and in doing so they can opt out of having their private insurance TAXED.
Use the taxes you already get from income to cover the uninsured and leave it at that!
Fair enough?
Honestly, you can pay for abortions and skip mamograms etc..for...'them'.

New Rasmussen Report (11/11/09):
74% of voters rate the quality of care they now receive as good or excellent
53% of voters believe Healthcare Reform will have the opposite effect
50% of voters oppose the bill in its current form
28% of voters are currently willing to pay higher taxes
25% of voters strongly favor the reform effort
Don't skew the numbers, Grayson. It's clear the majority of Americans do NOT want PelosiCare's welfare state.

Isn't it the conservatives that feel the need to impose their values on everyone else. I guess you didn't follow the Schiavo case very closely. She was on life support numb-nut...quit being an idiot, it doesn't help YOUR cause. Do some research...besides fox news.

jhamm999; yes people die, but the point is that there are so many out there who are dieing needlessly. you think we don't need to worry about them because of your mother, I don't think so.
edmctigue 2 years ago 4
you miss my point entirely. insurance is not some kind of shield that guards you against dying. nor is the lack of it going to kill you.

my mom died in 2004 from colon cancer 7 mos after the operation. she had medicare, tricare, supplemental. the point is people die not from lack of ins, but the disease they contract. that is why he is an intellectual dishonest publicity whore.
jhamm999 2 years ago
You can die from a small cut on your finger if you don't treat it correctly. The study confirms that many thousands of deaths can be prevented with proper treatment. Are you against that?
calrak 2 years ago 3
we have a federal law that says even if you don't have ins. you have to be treated. so it's not a matter of getting care. if people feel inhibited in seeing a doctor you can;t blame it on anyone.

only in emergencies situations, which for many diseases, namely the two biggest heart disease and cancer... is too late

Righto ristoril. In case you haven't noticed jhamm999 bases every one of his decisions on what pastor tells him sunday morning. He, like most repugnicans/wingnuts, completely lack the ability to examine a situation, analyze the various solutions, and through education and critical thinking choose the best decision.

jhamm999 2 years ago
no if you go to a hospital with a heart condition you have to be treated.
jhamm999 2 years ago
If you go the ER with chest pains and you're diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and blocking cardiac arteries you better either have some sort of good insurance, or you better get your affairs in order. They don't do cardiac bypass in the ER and they are under no obligation to give you that surgery for nothing.
kaysandesses 2 years ago 2
they would refer you to a cardiologist then. but they would not just kick you out.
jhamm999 2 years ago
im sure your mom would not want other sick and dying people to get free healthcare too. afterall, the weak should just die from the "disease" they contract. of course, we dont want any intellectual and dishonest publicity whores coming around and helping us--screw it! let everybody who has a disease just die slowly, and we won' t have to worry about it. that way, your mom can rest in peace :)
Penfish2k 2 years ago
yeah my 84 year old mom who raised 8 kids think people should help themselves. also your lucky you didn't say that disrespectful shit about my mom to my face tough guy. otherwise you would be in need of some medical help you prick.
jhamm999 2 years ago
You people are so caring about babies being born or not but we still allow very poor, criminals, or mentally ill to have kids.
That is the worse child abuse.
wetweasel56 2 years ago
Define what is wrong with being poor? (other than not having the necessities of life).
Mentally ill people do not necessarily have mentally ill offspring.
The majority of locked up criminals today are drug sales related (or economic crime) - someone trying to earn a living by selling what the public is buying. So we lock them up and we pay for their upkeep, maintenance and health care.
billvestal 2 years ago
Nothings wrong with being poor but a lot is wrong with bringing children into the same condition.
Mentally ill people have no business RAISING children.
What's wrong with your brain? You saying it's ok to sell drugs as long as there are buyers for it? If you have kids you will NOT think that way.
wetweasel56 2 years ago
the majority miscarriages happen in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy too. Surgery for miscarriage is a short procedure to empty a womb...During the procedure, your surgeon will pass a soft plastic tube through your cervix into your womb. The pregnancy material is removed by suction which in the US cost you money to do if it natural or otherwise
djpitchperfect 2 years ago
way to dehumanize a child there. pregnancy material. wtf?
jhamm999 2 years ago
Hey jhamm999, You're ranting and raving here about abortion, yet you have a wholesale objection to health care reform.
Maybe you can clear something up for me. I've never been able to figure out why backwards, uneducated, ignorant conservatards like you only care about people BEFORE they're born?
kaysandesses 2 years ago 2
again you read me wrong. i support healthcare reform, just not one that includes a govt takeover. reform it thru the private sector. also explain this to me. obama, pelosi and the bunch say the govt option will be self sufficient thru premiums p-aid from people who want to join. if that is the case then why is it going to cost 1 trillion dollars?.btw we care for both the woman and the unborn. that's why there are crisis pregnancy centers.
jhamm999 2 years ago
You're so full of shit. There has been no, and is no, realistic way to reform health care through the private sector. It's just a GOP talking point. As such, you're against any sort of meaningful health reform.
You still didn't answer my question: why are you against measures that will provide basic, affordable healthcare to every U.S. citizen?
kaysandesses 2 years ago 3
how do you know if it has never been tried? we can make a law that allows people to buy ins. across state lines. i did answer your question, just not in the way wanted me to. of course if you love govt run healthcare there is a country just 90 miles south of florida you can go to.
jhamm999 2 years ago
"e can make a law that allows people to buy ins. across state lines."
Another GOP talking point that solves nothing. The largest insurance companies already operate in nearly every state, but are forced by state law to abide by their requirements. Are you really in favor of taking power away from the States and giving it to the fed. gov? Hmm?
You bozo, health care reform is not a gov. takeover of health.
I haven't seen you in a few weeks, and I gotta say you're not any better informed.
kaysandesses 2 years ago
explain then barney frank saying to a constitutient that a public option is a backdoor way to a single payer. btw it is not about taking power away from a state. if you could get the same coverage for less money from another state why not?

well lets look at the other side of the coin.

We must protect the unborn but leave them to fend for themselves once they are born, I get where you are coming from Jhamm999.
shogofuji 2 years ago
why would you aoutomatically think the mom would desert the child?
jhamm999 2 years ago
why do you think that's what I'm talking about?
The debate is on Health Care Reform. My point was that you fight to prevent abortion but you don't fight to offer that child affordable and adequate health care when it is born. Nowhere did I mention a mother or a father abandoning their child. Also abortion is a choice by the woman carrying the fetus not government trying to kill unborn babies. You seem really good at missing the point.
shogofuji 2 years ago 4
then why the canard about defending for themselves?. isn't it the parents responsibility to care for them? the govt has no place to fund abortions was my point.

also-line 16 page 96 section 213. under ins.ratings rules.
jhamm999 2 years ago
Abortion is legal, and I'd rather a woman that has decided to get one be safe and have it paid for so she can get it safely done as opposed to not being able to afford and going to a non-professional only to possibly get an infection and die. We can't prevent these women from making what is rightfully their choice but we can make sure they make their decisions in a safe environment and have proper resources to protect them from infection.

considering that the child in the womb has a heartbeat and brainwaves in the first ten weeks doesn't mean anything to you?
jhamm999 2 years ago
well lets consider the natural way a woman has an abortion. A miscarriage is a pregnancy that ends before 24 weeks, which is before most developing babies are able to survive outside of the womb. why do we not care about them given that they too have a heartbeat and brainwaves ?
djpitchperfect 2 years ago
you really do not know the difference between a miscarriage and a abortion? sad.

kaysandesses 2 years ago
For different reasons than WMD.
Google "Saddam's Crimes Against Humanity" - click the FDD link - Watch the 4 videos listed if you can stomach it
colossus48 2 years ago
@colossus48 - bullshit. If Bush would have invaded for humanitarian he should have just said so. Here's why he told a different lie: humanitarian reasons would have only worked with liberals, because most conservatives don't give a rat's ass about humanitarian missions. Well, unless it's for white people and then it's okay.
The second reason your wrong can be reduced to one word: Darfur.
kaysandesses 2 years ago
I didn't say why they went in there. I said why I supported the war in Iraq. Tyranny was removed, now it is up to the people to make for themselves, which they are doing, the kind of government they would like.
You just want to talk bad about Bush for something...
I answered your question and you took my answer and ran in whatever kind of direction that you wanted...that is kind of nutty behavior.
colossus48 2 years ago
@colossus48 Did you know that the Bush War has resulted in the deaths of approx. 1/2 million Iraqis? Saddam didn't come anywhere close to those numbers. I thought humanitarian missions were intended to help people, not kill them. I guess that's why I don't understand "conservatives".
Since you're on the humanitarian kick: What about Darfur? Why didn't we send troops there? Could it be because there isn't an oil there?
kaysandesses 2 years ago
It is about tyranny and freedom from oppression, not body counts, but since you brought it up, Saddam killed over 200,000 at one time, and many others whenever he wanted. That 200,000 number is 2/5ths of 1/2 million, but that isn't the point, tyranny is.
We haven't sent troops to Darfur, because we are already spread very thin! Not that we would but that is a good reason. Anything else you want to blame on Bush, or assume about me?
