All that OC (pepper spray) does is force the protesters eyes shut. It can kill but only if the protester has asthma or is on illegal drugs. But since drugs are illegal we don't have to worry about that and since the LEO has to pull the OC out of a pocket the person with asthma has a perfect opportunity to get away!

Then the license to protest is null and void because you have moved it. Therefore, when the police say we want nobody closer than 5 metres from the fence - they can do that. Anything that entails protection of world leaders can be implemented immediately - that is what happened. People just view this as US AGAINST POLICE, which just stupid. People need to do as they are told.

I don't think YOU fully understand. The view point is not "Us against police", It's more like: what gives the ontario government the right to give the police militant absolute power and to put thousands of cops on the street at the tax-payers expense?
Protesters were outnumbered two to one, is there really a need for use of excessive force?

@drfeelgoodTO, it was to protect the world leaders and yes they are allowed to have the power to put laws in place as fast as they want to. To stop militant protesters I say go ahead beat them senseless and throw them in jail. Would that worry me - no. Problem, good protesters stay there when militant rioters start instead of moving away, which is stupid on their part. Well done Ontario government.

@drfeelgoodTO, isn't it amazing that all generations think they have the answer to all our woes, and yet not one of them has worked. We have always had the pecking order and it will always be there, and man WILL oppress man to his injury. You are no different to the generations before you so just get use to it as your answers will never help the masses. Too bad, that's life and if you were in power you would be pulling the same stunts you accuse others of. No new ideas, already done, too bad.

@aleemiles I agree. Humans are animals. Why wouldn't the more capable prey on the less able within a species? It is a natural phenomenon. If all of today's elite were eliminated, they and their abuses would be replaced in a heart-beat by other powerful and abusive people.
All social animals are as horrid as they are capable of being under the right circumstances.
Chickadees would kill and eat us if they could.

@momentinpassing, it is amazing how people today cannot see this point and think THEY will make a difference and can change how things are done. People have thought this way since politics and King ships began, it will not change. It is good to see that there is another person who can see what is really happening.
