This issue about censorship and media control worries me. In our society, those things shouldn't happen anymore, in a democracy where we are supposed to express ourselves, our ideals, thoughts and feelings. AT&T shouldn't cut the Bush's part.

I have loved Pearl Jam since I was 11----in 1991. I even have the stickman tattoo. However, Eddie Vedder lives in some kind of parallel universe now and I can't relate to him at all anymore. Good thing our troops are protecting all of our asses so dipshits like him can run off at the mouth.
Well congrats to the dude from AT&T who did this: now we all know what happened because most of the Ten Club members I know didn't even watch the podcast. It's like those parental advisory labels > they only draw more attention...
Haha...there is some irony here of course. The stories are legion among regular posters who have been censored at one time or another at the Message Pit, the ten club's forum. I'm sure it's just because...they know what should be shown on the internet.
...and all you sycophants: I know "it's diferent".

What the hell are you talking about you freaking idiot. AT&T is the private sector and not the Public. They actually are responsible to Their customer who BUY their service, and have SPONSORS to protect in this CAPITALISTIC system. Do you have a brain?
In the UK we have certain private media organizations that have no sponsors and are paid for by us- they are far superior to anything competition. In a democracy how can you censor to protect 'sponsors'? There shouldn't even be any sponsors. And what kind of sponsor is gonna be offended by 'George Bush leave this world alone'?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
there is a public sector and a private sector and its what makes the US the biggest and strongest in the world. yah thats right, you follow us not us to you. thats why nothing in your socialist country is superior to what we have, despite what the liberal propagandist tell you. I'm sorry that our news programs are just as bad and biased as yours, but history will treat Bush kindly. Anyway, what if Eddie said F*** all black people, then what would've happened?
I dunno how you can call the uk a socialist country. I'd still say our country is fairly right wing. Just not as far right as the US. I've been over there quite a few times and the news programs scare the hell outta me. They use all this patriotic bollocks to brainwash people into thinking whatever they want them to think. It's just a flag, dudes. Get over it.
I don't think racism should be censored either. If Eddie had said that then it would be plain that his views are unfounded and people would realize this and make their own mind up. There is no rational argument for racist views but there are countless for why George Bush Jr (much like his father) should leave America alone. Comparing "leave this country alone" to "f*** off blacks" is just ludicrous.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
What about the health care? Count all the other social programs there are. By the way, nobody is comparing racism to Bush or even comparing the same topics. this is about freedom of speech in a private and public sector. yah, in a public sector I agree that this shouldn't happen, but in the private sector this rule doesn't apply. Example: I don't have to listen to what you say and AT&T is just protecting their target market, like any other business would do.
I'm sorry, but what the fuck are you on about? Socialist? History will treat Bush kindly?? There are many things superior in the UK (it has a name) like a system where there are more than just two choices of who leads the country. And 'you follow us'? Yes, to some extent the UK is similar to the USA, but there's an entirely different mentality here. If Ed said 'fuck all black people', then so be it. We wouldn't censor that, we would strongly criticize it. Go back to your Republican rally, jerk.

look if you can't have a rational debate and go writing the F-Word like you do then we cant debate. see, you can say the F word but I dont want to hear it just like many customers the use AT&T. This is called the private sector. oh and by the way I'm an independant and very libertarian on speech issues. you have missed my whole point becuase you want to flare me so bad with all of liberal nonsense.
So you're slagging me for being libertarian on speech, and then claim to be a libertarian, then refer to my 'liberal nonsense'. Sorry, but I've lost off.

Come on, use your own brains and don't worry about what am irrelevant rock band says.
@unc2002 it really must shit you that pearl jam are still around 3yrs after you made this stupid comment..obviously you know absolutely nothing about rock history..maybe you should learn..or read a little:)..oh btw..i bet you hated the fact that pearl jam continues to release #1 albums 20yrs into their career and sell out stadiums
I assume those who posted here, are not the same ones posting the "towelhead" comments on the flying "terrorist" video. You all seem much smarter here.
If the NSA's Bushfascist partner AT&T didn't cut F-bombs during the same webcast they would be lying in their press release that their intention is that they only censor-out swear words. Can someone post evidence or proof profanity got thru? If so, what is their excuse for that?
I think Interpol was also "edited by mistake" the night before. Anyway, AT&T didn't provide a "terms and conditions" to which we agreed when we watched this webcast. there was a warning about viewer discretion advised, that doesn't mean AT&T has the right to use their discretion about what we can or can't see. This is the tip of the iceberg - in five years when you can't access what you want on the internet, then you'll be up in arms and wonder why nobody tried to stop it.
It's quite ironic that many people are saying that PJ is "whiny" over this issue, and yet you are probably the same ignorant asses that would complain if copy written material were pulled from this very site or bitch and complain if your post to this site were pulled for censored language. You should probably think about your own actions and reactions before posting such mindless myopic comments in judgment of obvious violation of our basic civil rights.

AT&T is a freaking phone company. They paid money to these effete slobs and were promoting their phone services, which would feature the sponsored slob's music.
