I cannot help but respond to these absurd comments, I suspect whoo689 has never created a business that employed hundreds if not thousands of people in America, well Mr. Marcus has and I have. I can tell you the government is your enemy punishing you before you even open the business. For example, I am launching new vitamin manufacturing in Las Vegas, NV and before I could get building permits that cost XX dollars I had to pay the county run water department a rip off $65,000 tax for drains!
Isn't it ironic that the people with the MOST RESOURCES as businessmen seem to be BITCHING THE MOST about Obama's policies?? COME ON... If anyone should be bitching, it's small business. Yet... where ARE the small businessmen to complain on any of these shows? I don't see em! All I see are Richie Rich's complaining and whining as if they're gonna be poor tomorrow.
These guys are so full of it. Bloomberg just recently did an excellent piece SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT on "Obama's regulations." Check it out. The truth of the matter is, FAR FEWER jobs have been lost, and the costs are way overstated, when compared to the Right's and businessmen's rhetoric. This guy's so full of it. "Oh, I'm so overregulated!" Please... In fact, Reagan and Bush Sr. had higher regulatory costs in the same time period!! Yet no one claims they "overregulated."
The big businessmen and the Right are simply looking for easy answers to this economic crisis, rather than getting to the BOTTOM of why more companies aren't hiring faster. They want easy outs. They don't wanna be bothered to actually THINK hard about the situation and come up with real solutions. I mean, REALLY? The whole reason why we're still in this mess, which was CAUSED BY THE BANKERS PRIMARILY, is because government is now "doing too much" whereas it regulated too little before?
So... what IS the right amount of regulation? If we regulated too little to prevent a collapse BEFORE, and we're supposedly "regulating too much" now, it seems like WE CAN'T WIN, at least according to the Right and business.
Hell, the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that only about .2% of jobs, on average, have been cut thanks to "regulation", at least according to what the employers say.
These guys just felt so ENTITLED to a big "pro-business" environment all throughout Reagan up until the end of Bush's 2nd term that once a president comes along who actually passes a few big regulations, they GO BALLISTIC. It's a shock to them. They were so used to gov't catering to them all the time that they can't handle it.
It has little to do with "overregulation" or any of that bullshit. When your co. makes 1/2 a billion or BILLIONS in profits, I can't take this whining seriously.
I mean, with THAT kind of money, I don't see how you couldn't afford to pay for the increased regulatory costs and still have lots of left over. Why don't assholes go to major totalitarian and 3rd Word states where the gov't has HUGE business restrictions on entrepreneurs? Then they'll realize how absurd their whining about "overregulation" in America is.
In fact, actually HAVE a small bank owner or two come on your shows, Fox Business and/or CNBC. HAVE THEM talk about how "disastrous" Dodd-Frank is! Don't have some big business jackoff like this guy talk "for them." HE'S NOT EVEN IN THE BANKING SECTOR! He does RETAIL
Oh, please... Show me even TEN "small banks" that have gone under because of Dodd-Frank. This is just another anti-gov't, anti-regulation scare tactic. Ok, wise guy. If you oppose Dodd-Frank, then how would YOU regulate Wall St. to prevent another crash??? Put up or shut up. Repealing a 'bad' bill that's supposed to do something crucial but leaving NOTHING to replace it would be disastrous!
Agencies like the SEC have BARELY IMPLEMENTED Dodd-Frank! It can't be THAT big a 'killer.'
Go back to school. USA was more successful with out PONZI defrauding people like you... for 50 years 1930'd to 1980's. Be for the PONZI SCAMMING Banks decided not to have any morals at all in 1981! And buy off all of our politicians to deregulate them. Look what we have now! Financial institutions that have no morals about stealing 1000 trillion dollars NOT JUST BILLIONS that is a quadrillion. Can you say 1000 trillion ten times fast?
And making the poor people pay for their PONZI SCAMS. Then charging poor people month fees that are out rages. Just to put your money in there banks? Or 25% to 30% on credit cards? So they can do their BANKER PONZI SCAM all over again.
We don’t need multi billion dollar companies like yours or Walmarts. We need small MOM & POP stores. I remember your company was first open. I started to see thousands of other business close there doors because of you!
More over how many billions of taxpayers subsidies have you stolen from the poor people? Government hand outs… I know. Why not JUST SPEAK THE TRUTH! Your rich and you like the fact that other people don’t have money to even buy food. Or to buy products from your big corporation. Because you refuse to pay your workers anything. Or pay your fair share of taxes. So you can get more welfare for your big corporation.
If you like JUST THE TRUTH TV. VOTE THIS COMMENT UP!!!
democrats are too cowardly to speak against the Obama or even each other.
And guess what, all that "it's paid for " talk is simply closing tax loopholes, decreasing charitiable giving deductions for 200k+ earners, and other tax cuts---which is weird because they forget whos money it is. Letting someone keep more of their money doesn't mean you are "spending" and when you stop letting them keep more of their money, it's not a "savings" which you can pay for a bill!!
And yet the left still won't listen to reason......here's a man that lived the American dream and created a huge franchise from the ground up and he's telling us that the left is KILLING the American dream.
