  • Hey Gonzo how thin is the xfactor to fit I tight spaces like the door Cuase my door is a little tight top and bottom

  • can it really fit in ANY door as it is "advertised". i have a apt and only 2 doors i think would be able to fit.

  • how can you tell if i have the first gen or second gen?

  • thanks for the advice i will make sure i order online to avoid headaches with exchanges now

  • Will the available workouts burn fat as well as tone muscle?

  • Yes, as long as you're overloading your muscles and you're eating right.

  • can u make a video demonstrating the installation?

    thanx gonzo!

  • I did have plans on making a video on installation and maintenance, but all that got canceled. I think one of the related videos shows a bit of the installation. The installation is rather easy. Problems come up when you try to close the door and there isn't enough clearance. All the problems I've come across could be fixed. Each door is different, so it's tough to say whether you'll run into problems or not and whether you can fix the problem or not.

  • Do it really work?

  • If you use it and eat right.

  • I bought mines from modells about a year ago and I dont have any issues with the sound so all of the first gen cant be bad. Im happy with my purchase thanks for the heads up though great video

  • I just picked up an X Factor today at a local Walmart in Milwaukee and suprisingly it seems to be a 2nd generation since the 60 lb bands are located in the middle...maybe Weider finally started shipping them out in retail stores finally?

  • i have to say i brought this x factor to mix up with my p90x workout, just after 3 weeks i have noticed good changes of course with a good healthy diet plan, with a cheat day once a week, this x factor is awesome, there is so much workouts you can do and its not limited to one weight size only, this is like 210 pounds which is 95kgs. even better, you can get it up to 360 pounds thats like 151kgs i believe thats 60 pounds x3 on each side... once you get stronger and bigger .....

    i would say a+

  • so it looks like you've been using this workout system for over six months... have you noticed any additional cuteness? any further progress in cuteness?

  • Thanks for pointing out some things to look out for. I keep hoping the Tower 200 is the better machine because it has adjustable sides where you can move the pulleys up and down and change the angle of resistance. That is handy for getting the resistance angle against the muscle just right.

The price for the Tower 200 is around $ 140 - $ 150 on Amazon so that isn't too much more than the $ 100 for an X-Factor.

Sooner or later I will make a decision on which one to buy.

  • ok, which is better, TRX or this?

  • I haven't tried the TRX, so I can't really give a fair opinion. But I do think the X factor is better. For me it comes down to versatility. There are just so many things you can do with the X factor.

But I think it mainly comes down to the type of workout you're looking to do and which product is going to best allow you to do those workouts.

  • The only thing good I can say about this product is I got a good workout when nothing was braking. But I believe this item is dangerous and not worth the $105 I paid for it. Leaving right now and taking it back to Walmart.

  • I guess Walmart stores still have the 1st gen X factors in stock. Does you no good to return it because you'll just get another 1st gen. It's unfortunate. And as I've said many time before, the 2nd gen X factors don't have any problems at all. As far as the door hinge being ripped out, then I would have to say that the hinge wasn't attached as good as it should've been to begin with. If you have weak doors/hinges, then it's best to attached it so that the door opens away from you.

  • I have no idea of its a 1st or 2nd, but I will call Weider tomorrow and ask just for curiosity and let them know about there product. I took the X-Factor back for a refund, not an exchange. I do not trust this product after what has happened. I read on Weiders website they have a lifetime warranty on the bands. I figure because eventually they will snap, (they are rubber) so again, very dangerous. I am going to buy a home gym, seems more practical.

  • @G0NZ0x3 My hinges have 3 inch screws and were well placed (very strong). In Weiders video advertisements they show the X-Factor attached with the door opening towards them. Weider should not advertise in this manner, because it is not the safest way to have hooked up. I believe it is because they want to show it works in both ways of attaching to the door. If so, shame on Weider. I really wanted this item to work. just be careful.

  • @G0NZ0x3 hey man i'm planning to buy the x factor in a couple of weeks. I'm just gonna use it for triceps exercises and once a week for flies for the chest, do you prefer x factor instead tower 200

  • I have had 2 of these now. The first only lasted 4 days and I seen a rip on one of the 60lbs bands. Not sure if it was there before I used it. Took it back to Walmart and bought another one. This time it lasted 1 week before one of the 15lbs bands snapped. I used the X-Factor the next day with only using the 30lbs and 60lbs bands. Well this time the bottom door hinge ripped out the door frame.

  • @SirGlockALott so which one you think is better tower 200, or weider x factor

  • @yordano41 Same quality. I would go with the X-Factor because of price. Like I said before, it will give you a very good work out just be careful.

  • @SirGlockALott yeah i was thinking the same thing i'm planning to buy in a couple of weeks, but i'm just gonna use it for triceps exercises and once a week with flies for the chest

  • Thanks Gonzo. This video helped me with resolving my x-factor issues.

  • what are the model numbers of the Gen 1 and Gen 2 to make sure I get the Gen 2 if I buy it in the store?

  • Please see description for answer to this question.

  • If i open the box in the store can I tell the difference looking at the unit?

  • Please see description for answer to this question.

  • How can you determine the difference between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 when looking for it locally in the stores? Would you post the model numbers of both so I would be assured I am buying the 2nd Gen?

  • do any stores sell this product?

  • so is there a 1st and 2nd generation? which is better???

  • It's nothing official. It's just the terminology I use to describe the difference between the 1st batch of X factors and subsequent batches of X factors. The first batch had some problems with the pulleys. It's been fixed along with an increase in the resistance. But to answer your question, the "2nd gen" is better.

  • I had a problem with my X-factor in that I got two right sides. I called weider and got a replacement, and noticed the tensions were very different between the first vs second set, especially in the 60lb band, it is very noticable.

  • Okay, I received a 2nd X-Factor sender from Weider no charge. I was very excited until I tried it. Only the 15 lb top band is making popping sounds.Noticed that round smooth screw was turning & none of the other screws move on the other pulleys. I wonder if that' the problem. Plus the resistance on that one is much lighter anyone have any suggestions esp since customer service sent a new one for free. do i just deal with it or maybe exchange my other one @ sports auth & see how it works.

  • You might want to try some WD-40. When I got my new one, some of the pulleys were still making a slight squeaking noise. WD-40 fixed that, but if the pulleys themselves are badly manufactured, then WD-40 won't fix that. In regards to the resistance, it might be that your bands were cut longer than normal. You can shorten them, but I don't recommend it. Take the frames off the door, straighten the bands, and measure them from end to end. Let me know those measurements and I'll get back to you.

  • I just bought the X-factor and it rocks...no noise...great resistance

  • If I had not found your page, I would not have known that the X-Factor was not supposed to make those squeaky noises.

I purchased mine a month ago and after reading your comments, I was on hold w/Weider a very long time today but got a very nice lady in Customer Service. Told her that I purchased @ Sports Authority. She told me to send a copy of the receipt and she would send another X-Factor. Also said it sounded like a pulley issue. Will see what happens but hope she comes thru.

  • Have you looked into returning it. I'll have to call Weider and verify this, but I think if you're outside the retailer's return period, and still inside the 90 day manufacturer's warranty, then you should be entitled to a product that is free of defects. And if you have bad pulleys, then that falls under that category. I don't know the exact steps and requirements for every situation, but it's worth a try, if in fact someone does actually have a defective product.

    (Continued in Description)

  • Good Video, I bought my X-Factor from Dicks sporting good about a month ago and it has the same exact annoying problem with making that loud clicking noise. In the commercials its as quiet as a mouse, but the ones they sell for mass production are cheaply and quickly made. Plus I had to sand down a small portion of the corners of my door frame to fit the X-factor on my door. It does NOT fit ALL doors. If anyone else has these problems call up Weider directly instead of where u purchased it.

  • I bought mine directly from Weider. If you bought yours from somewhere else, you will have to deal with them. And chances are you will have to return it. You might even have to return it even if you got it from Weider. When I called they first verified my order, then I had to wait on hold for a while, then they finally put in an order for a new one. I fully explained everything to them and I was very polite the entire time. Don't try to scam them for a free X factor. It won't work.

  • alright cool i bought mine directly from the site too i was just wondered how long did it take them to ship it to you??

  • did you order your x-factor directly from the weider site?

  • Couple of questions.. the promos show them doing some pretty dynamic exercises like jump squats with a shoulder press or overhead squats while you jump into low squat. have you tried any of these exercises with the bands and do they actually have enough resistance to give you a good power workout?

  • Hey man thanks for the video I got a question though do we get to keep the old x factor for free?

    did you return yours?

  • so if i bought the x factor and it was from the "1st batch" there would be no way for weider to send me 1 from the "second batch" or i would have to return it fro possibly another defected x factor??

  • amother great video man keep up the good work
