i have enjoyed listening to Pastor Begg for years, on his radio broadcasts. God does some nice work thru his ministry, which is much appreciated by my household.
I forget the first tunes title but it is about romance...the words to the song start "where do I begin to tell the story of a love..." the second tune was "My Way" as in I did it my way
I love Alister's preaching on the radio.I am a former New ager and I am horrified at how churches have allowed the new age to enter thru the back door.Alister has none of it.I love his bible based teaching.

Shame on you, Begg. Shame on you! This is the kind of thing Calvin was writing about in his commentary on Ephesians where Paul writes of foolish talking and jesting. Check it out.
@tabsr15728 Alistair preaches a good gospel and a few minutes of using the humor God gave him...that's right, it's a gift from God...is not wrong. Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
First of all, I appreciate your concern for this matter and think more Christians need to share your general concern. However, I'm not sure we have enough information from this short video to rebuke Pastor Begg.
Additionally, intimacy between husband and wife (assuming that is what his comment was in reference to) is a gift of God and nothing to be ashamed of. He said nothing crude or crass. Am I wrong?
@cwedad No, I am sure Pastor Begg didn't mean anything by this....He was embarassed when he actually realized how his comment sounded. I have attended Parkside Church for about13 years now, and he is pretty straight laced!
@My3QTs I've never been to Parkside Church--I wish I lived in the Cleveland area so I could go there--but I have been listening to Truth for Life and I've found his humor to be subtle and self-deprecating, hence the comment at about 0:06 "...with my name attached to it, hence the mention of foolishness...and it'll probably just be my wife, asking me questions like, 'When are you coming home?'" It is hilarious when you can catch it!
@tabsr15728 Get a GRIP!! Why so uptight? He said nothing crude or out of line...I bet you could would even decribe a parade as just a traffic jam. You must be a REAL joy to be around...NOT!
I listen to Pastor Begg on a regular basis on my ipod and enjoy his style and content immensely. His humor only adds to the overall flavor of his message~~whoever said, Christianity was boring?? :)
I really like his accent! When I hear him on the radio, I always imagine his face to look like the actor who plays Pippin from Lord of the Rings (Billy Boyd)... now that I think of it, he actually kinda DOES look like him! LOL. Anyhoooo, Alistair Begg is my favorite teacher of all time! There are so many great sermons that are so down-to-earth and life-applicable! :)
I think he looks like Sir Paul Mcartney. I love to listen to "Truth For Life" on the radio. Wonderful teaching of the Word and when Pastor Begg sings a hymn you understand he loves to praise God. Maybe some day he'll sing "Hey Jude" or "Let it Be" (just joking) "Till there was You" is a good chose sence it has no secular trip up lines. No! Really! We sang it at my Church and it's perfect for praise and worship.
ha! wouldn't ya know! i'm an allister begg fan just as much as i am a beatles fan. it's very true...the paul mccartney thing and that many secular songs can be used to honor God. Don'cha' love it?
Yes! Love it! Pastor Begg quotes many old hymns. There is so much depth is the lyrics of the older hymns. He can also make a strong point by quoting lyrics from secular music. As this vidio shows he knows music just from the melodys.
Alistair rocks! Just went to the Green Campus opening and I think we will start going there to church. I love his expository preaching and adherence to Biblical doctrine.
LOL

@mtw4Jesus Theme from Love Story. You must be younger than 50 :-)

@mtw4Jesus The second song is "To God Be the Glory" by Andrew Crouch. The first line that he played states, "How can I say thanks
for the things you have done for me?"

what's the name of the 2nd song Keith Getty plays on the piano? It sounds familiar.
wetdry 3 years ago
It's the famous Frank Sinatra song, "My Way".
JKennah63 3 years ago
BTW, the first line of the song is, "And now, the end is here
And so I face the final curtain."

it is funny, but I'm wondering what the piano piece/song is that Keith begins playing at the "crucial" point... help lol!
