We Chinese people understand better than anyone else in the world that in terms of military power there is no way we can surpass the US. Even closing the gap is difficult. yes the F-22 was designed in 80's and we are 20 yrs behind. As a chinese myself I also don't think we can produce a better fighter.But with all the money and intelligence now, we can at least build a fighter that can stop other countries bullying us - Defense.
