I think the Doctor has missed the point that the 10 points are about mindsets rateher than the nitty gritty of thinks like seatbelts. If they put in seatbelts, they'd need to include things like mobile phones, indicating properly, steering well, not speeding, not picking your nose whilst driving and basically the new 100s of commandments would just be a regurgitation of the Highway Code. I hope the Catholics have more important things to do :o)

Seat belts are important, but more important -- the reporting of this document was very sloppy. Part one was about drivers, part two about pastoral care of prostitutes, part three pastoral care of street children, part four pastoral care of the homeless. 3/4 of the document was ignored and the whole thing reported as some sort of comical idiotic listing by the Vatican of new drivers commandments.
