No matter how new and high tech those EMDs come, they always have that distinctive chugging. The GE's chug too, of course, but it's smoother, and less heaving (for lack of a better word).
Thats an awesome catch on the first train in the video. That seconded Dash-9 unit #739 was the first locomotive BNSF painted in the Heritage 2 paint scheme. The unit was also featured in a 1999 Pentrex production Runnin the Highline where the video featured a cab ride in that unit over the Gateway Sub in California.
Engineers must really enjoy railfans and never miss a friendly hogging!
I noticed something interesting. On 4135, 739 and 764 units the front door is on left side. But 7262, 8291, 8306 and 8278 have their doors on the other side. Why is this?
Thanks again, not sure about the door issue? THe railroad is getting use to use rail fanning from that location. I think as long as your a good distance from hurting yourself they are happy to see you. I have been turned in a few times but this location seems safe to just hang out and watch the trains roll by with out the fear of being turned in.
Yes. I agree that trains are very dangerous by default but they are so beautiful!!!
By saying turned in you mean being sucked by the air turbulence caused by the train. Dont you? I think things could turn into worst if one is not far enough from the rails. They could be thought of as a dangerous Beauty!
Yet again you are doing a great job!
We do not have trains like yours so keep on these HDs coming!!!
No turned in the the Railroad Cop's. I was turned in to the BNSF police on a shoot I did a few years back. I have since made friends with a few of the guys that enforce the laws on the rails so I hope if it happens again it is someone i know that is called.
I will try to keep them coming but it may take a while for the next batch.
Awesome movie rdw283!! I loved seeing the MAC's. Im a CP Fan and I take an interest in the UP and BNSF engines too. I live up in Canada so I see alot of CP and CN and the odd retired BC Rail engines. But yeah I love the UP and CP SD90MAC's and AC4400CW's. Good video! Added it as a fav.
We get so many SD90's through Spokane. AI bet on any one day out of the 15-18 trains on the UP 10 - 12 have the 90's as there power. Ites also nice to see the CP Rail AC4400 with these but I didn't catch any of those the day I was there.
HI TRAIN FANS GOOD VIDEO. ARE YOU FROM SPOKANE I LIVE DOWN TOWN AND WATCH THE TRAINS EVERDAY KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. A DEVOTED FAN.

Because the ES44C4 models were designed that way. Theyre brand new with only 25 off the shelves. Maybe the retro style came back.
