  • This is a failure, you didn't understand the very basics of wood in general and this floor in particular...

  • omg a woman doing parquetry now ive seen everything

  • @menace2merrylandsz You should see me change a tire! See my car maintenance videos.

  • @fettuccinetube no you cant change a tire thats way to complicated for a woman

  • Laying your floor whilest on LSD...

  • hello we were wondering how the floor turned out in the end? You mentioned at the end of your film that you would do an update to say how it held up to use when the house was rented. How did the underlay work and were you happy in the end with the final look?

  • @belalionne So far so good. The floor stays in place but there is definitely a difference between the part that was glued and the part that is on the overlay. It feels like you are "on firmer ground" where it is glued. The part on the overlay moves a bit and feels not as firm underfoot. I´d say that due to the small size of the parquet fingers it is best to glue. Floating parquet works if you need a somewhat temporary solution. At some point I will glue it all down and then varnish.

  • @fettuccinetube Thanks!

  • @belalionne As far as how it looks, it looks good!

  • I put in a wood floor years ago. I used planks that were 8 feet long and 12 inches wide. I said if I ever do another wood floor, I'll use the smallest pices of wood posible. You can work with the small pices so much easier.

  • @redcat362 Thank you Redcat! I do love to do how-tos. I have had plenty of years to accumulate knowledge so getting older is not as bad as I thought it would be! Parquet is so beautiful, as long as one is careful to put the pieces in lined up. It starts to get messy if the pieces start misaligning.

  • Good to see you with another how too video. I think how too's are the best thing you tube has going.

  • @redcat362 I am probably going to do a deck for the pool this year. Stay tuned!
