I saw this on cable a while ago and thought it was awesome, but the other day i was getting drunk and playing poker with a friend and was like we need some old parlor music like back in the old saloon days and he played a cd of some guys from 1932 and then i heard this same song, it was track 5 called stove pipe stomp this guy stole the tune but added some lyrics to it, its ok but i thought baby gramps made that song but now i know better. look up stove pipe stomp and compair the two
That has got to be the most amazing intro to any song that I have ever heard, hands down. He sure loves to show off, quite a lot. And the best thing about it is, it's not pretentious showing off. It's just fun showing off.
You hit the nail right on the head, Mool. Baby Gramps is a joy to watch because of the palpable joy he obviously takes in what he does (amongst other reasons to love him, of course).
AHHHHH THIS IS IT! THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I EVER SAW THE LEGEND HIMSELF! It was on public access a few years ago, and they showed his whole performance. You don't happen to have any other clips from it, do you? Man, this just made my night/day seeing it!
That was my show on public access, 4 songs. I have the dredge the others off tape somewhere. You should check his web site, as he plays the Laurelthirst Tavern in Portland many 1st Fridays of the month...and they go smoke free in 2009!
Man, you did a great job recording that. Great quality- both visual AND audio. I've been dying to see his performance of This Ol' Ball of Dirt again. Since public access doesn't list what's going to be on, I can't exactly set the DV-R to record the show if it pops up again. Hah, and his joke about how his guitar has virgin strings, virgin something else...but the body's been around the block a few times.
whats the name of this crappie song

It's just unmistakably grand.
