There would be a lot of lag, but theres always a lot of lag in SL anyway. I think SL on the phone would be more for say business matters than pleasure. As in because of all the lag and slow movement, it would be ideal for a meeting on SL while you are out at work or stuck in traffic and what not. Or lets say you want to purchase something, or have to chat with somebody before a certain time. This is what SL on the phone will be good for. At least until they fix out the lag and controls better.

She is from the Philippians and he, from the Netherlands. about 6 months ago he moved to the Philippians to live with her. they are incredibly happy. They would have never met without second life. I achieved pretty much the same effect as is shown in the video using VNC virtual network computing software on the iphone (client) and my desktop PC (server). I scaled down the second life viewer to about the size of the iphone screen, and used the client camera and movement controls. Works pretty well, about 1 frame or so per second (via 3G)

Uh, dudes, the iPhone makes a great general 3D controller. Hook it up to the came or webcam equipped space (perhaps conferences) of your choice. iPhone or equiv as general game and 3D space nav and display.

Well SL might not crash but the lag would kick your ass. The SL client is running on a server so it's only the video being displayed. Still it's way slow cuz SL client updates visuals in real time.

1. "It" is not a game. It has no where near the graphics requirements of some of the games available today. It needs a good graphics card to make it look pretty but it perfectly capable of running at low-end graphics.

2. It does need a blazingly fast internet connection. This is because you're constantly streaming (pay attention) a fully 3Dimensional world. That is a lot of data.

3. The iPhone, though not my favourite, does have a good graphics processor and API. At 3G speeds, Second life is quite fine. My personal experience suggests 512kbps is sufficient, and 3G/HSDPA can give you a theoretical maximum of 7.2 Mbps.

Just gotta point out that your title is wrong. SL DOES NOT RUN on any cell phone, it runs on a provider's server & they stream it to your phone. Maybe if the title was SL running through a cell phone it'd be correct. Cool idea though for all of us who actually make real moneys off of SL.
