One of the most powerful songs written about the worlds situation in rock music. In a few lines Alvin Lee says alot. It is also a great piece of musicianship. It applies today just as it did then. The only lyric I would change so it says " Tax the rich, feed the poor so that theres no poor no more."

@MrPow19 then you changed the sentiment. He's paraphrasing Jesus actually... even Tim Rice said it in Jesus Christ Superstar: "there will be poor always, pathetically struggling, look at the good things you got..."

@dompy1 tee hee... actually... your lyrics are all over the Internet... if they are 'correct'... then the song is totally different than I thought... its not just that line... omg... i'm one of those people then, singing a totally different song all these years!! haha... but i still love the song, altho' i can only play the rhythm guitar, not the lead at all.
