Why can't anybody leave this show with a happy ending? Simon was the character with the most morality and he still was doomed to a tragic ending. I mean couldn't he change the future. This ending sucked.
What video editing software did you use? Because I've been looking for a while for a program that lets you do the effect that you have from 0:08 - 0:31, where there are multiple clips on screen at one time.

This was lovely. And I think it's a great song for the both of them together, because they were both flawed characters who ended up bringing out the best in each other, making each other more human, caring, and courageous.

This stupid death loop is no fun and I hope they fix it at some point but I do kinda love that the writers followed through with the storyline they created and didn't come up with some last minute deus-ex-machina just to get a happy ending. Even if it means we're all devastated for a while :(
@mfirefly10 Thank you very, very much. I do admire the writers for being willing to go there with the epic, tragic ending, but the when and how of it all did not work so much for me. So I very much hope they revisit it at some point, if not to make it all better, then at least to sew up some of those plot holes. Although I really hope they do make it all better and somehow a happy ending is still possible for those two, because it makes me so sad.

@sweetiepie1019 I saw on twitter that Robert Sheehan was going to be in a few eps in the next series, I don't know if that's been confirmed though :S On twitter there's been a lot of talk and on the E4 Misfits site they are hinting at a return for my otp but that wouldn't be series 4 as Iwan and Antonia have confirmed they won't be in series 4, so here's to hoping for Simon and Alisha's return in series 5 :)

Amazing video! Beautiful. Also, Alisha is in a time loop. As long as Simon keeps going back, then the time of her death (when he leaves) to the point where they meet the virtue mind control girl (where he comes back) is in a loop. Things like Nikki meeting Curtis and dying or Rudy appearing, EVERYTHING repeats itself. So, while the other characters get to carry on and live past the loop, BOTH Simon and Alisha are fated to die in the loop. Simon dies when he gets shot.

Alisha is just dead. She's not part of that, any more than Nikki or Shawn or Ollie.

He's the ferryman guiding his friends over troubled waters, he can't help the bumps and bruises they get along the way. But he gets them to their destination and braves those waters again to come back to the woman he loves. He promised he'd never leave her and he won't. Let the world move on he's staying her with her. Whether its Curtis and Sam, or going back to stop the milk guy's killing spree, or the Nazis coming back or going away, in the world of Misfits, there seems to be an abundance of examples that show that Simon wanted to, he could most certainly change the outcome of his and Alisha's fate.
@djsosonut Now, if your argument is that he thinks he shouldn't change time, I'd like to know, why not? The woman he loves dies, and so does he, and his friend's girlfriend for that matter. Can't go too much worse if he attempts to tinker with a little, can it? And if there is a good reason, a line of dialogue that says something other than "It has to happen like this," one that says WHY it has to happen like this, seems appropriate.

If he could travel back to the moment where Alisha got her throat cut, another him would already have been there to stop the blade and she would have never got her throat cut. He would then be destined to go back in time and stop that blade. All of this was a rerun, before it happened. At the end of it Curtis, Kelly, Nathan, Rudy, Marnie, Seth are alive. He and Alisha are dead, but in the loop they're happy and unaware.

And just because he can only loop, not go back, doesn't mean he can't change when he loops to, or what he does when he gets there. Again, timelines have changed on the show before, there isn't any reason why this is an exception that I see.

All the interconnecting parts.Remember how the little change Curtis made to his life almost killed everyone or how Fred caused the Nazi's to take over.Changing things doesn't always make them better. I'm happy with how happy they were with each other and their friends. Cause it isn't just their deaths that is repeated.

To answer your "why didn't he stop the crazy chick question" though - if he went back to THAT moment then there'd be two of him running around and having to share Alisha (bc all three would then be alive) UNLESS of course he saves her and then continues to the past where he makes he dies, but why would future him head back in the first place if Alisha was alive? It's all about keeping the timeline right
@catt021 The real question here... when the hell did Las Vegas happen? They never went! They still just have that picture from his previous time loop but him and Alisha never actually went so how many loops ago was that picture taken?
@catt021 I'm guessing Simon and Alisha went to Vegas with Nathan and Marnie and left them there when they came back. That's why Simon said Nathan is "still" there and why in 3x01 Alisha walked past the Vegas picture it looked newer and shinier and less smudgy, like it had been taken recently, not traveled through time and pinned on a while and kept in a purse and everything. To me, that's a much smaller, easier explained plot hole-ish thing.

And I love them together, but wouldn't the more important thing be keeping her alive rather than them getting together? If the timeline got screwed up and they never hooked up, we could spend the next season or two watching them somehow, unknowingly find their way back to each other.
This otp didn't deserve a time loop. I thought it was all supposed to be fine. I hoped they eventually would break the 'curse'. To prove Superhoodie wrong. Instead, as you said; Simon is stuck into a time loop, not Alisha.
