I have tried four times to make stockings heels but I have a few holes. Please tell me that happened to me, because I echo exactly what you explained it. By the way, you're a great teacher.

When doing the heel, how do you start the new color? I did the leg of the stocking red, now I want to change to the color that I did the cuff in.

What do you mean by go up one?

@kpkimball the lines on the board signify rows of stitches..... your stitches are going to build on the loom so go up one means the next row of stitches on the loom.....following the tutorial videos might help you to understand better too so search for christmas stocking and follow in order to help you along........
