The idiot factor is high in the comment section. Anyway, I liked the bike and videos you have put up here. How hard is it to get parts? The only thing that I don't like about the Maicos are the right hand drive system running so close to the rear brake pump. Is that an issue?

@Jacare1973 Not hard to get parts once you know where to go. If cant get parts locally just get from Germany, for the older bikes. MI will have their own parts website when the bikes are released. I have not had any issue on my 04 Maico 500.

Mark should sell his maico and get a simple 250 2stroke which has got more power than mark ever will use. Beginners should not ride big bikes. Either they will hurt themselves or just look like a goon rider.

Don't know what the possible top speed is though, these are geared for motocross and actually have the exact same gear ratios as the 500, so top speed would be the same without a different setup. Accelleration though would obviously be faster on any compariable gear setup between a 500 and a 700.

@tobyeo Well if they are geared the same, wouldn't the two stroke rev higher? giving a higher top speed. especially if they are geared low, so reaching the rev limit isn't a problem.

@mynamesmitchel The 700 2t and 500 2t? They are both 2t and the larger bores usually rev lower than the larger bores.  Essentially, the top speed of the 700 and 500 would be equal given the same secondary drive, the 700 would just accellerate faster.

@robociock The bigger they are, the deeper the sound and the lower RPM range they generally rev to. An exception is the KTM495 since it's a short stroke big bore. Most bigger CC/CM engines use multiple cylinders instead of one big one.
