the creators (DREAM TEAM) are currently with NAMCO and hold their copyrights to the game while Square constantly requests a licensing for a remake which is rejected because DREAM TEAM will not receive any profit.
Square wants it to happen, but if you want a chrono like game you'll need to play some DREAM TEAM games now made by NAMCO

All that time Square gave a f*** about making a remake of CT, they just wanted to make cheap profit out of it porting it till boredom. And when a third party project came forward (Chrono Resurrection) Square sued them with a cease & desist. Square cares as much for a CT remakes as it cares for a FFVII or Xenogears remake. @skins4thewin, I believe what makes Chrono Trigger so special is that there isn't 13 of them. I would never wish Square to feed off this title like they do to Final Fantasy. Besides the way Square Enix is now, they would ruin them. Also Mitsuda is not affiliated with Square anymore, and you can't have a Chrono game without Mitsuda composing it imo. XD
I agree with the updated graphics, but voice acting? I think adding a voice would ruin how the character is many people's heads'. The charm of not having the voices is that you're free to give them your own, use your imagination to fill the gap. ;]
But, as for the music itself, it is amazing, as are all of the other CT remixes posted by zZeiss. Thank you so much for posting them on youtube for all of us to hear! :D

This song has something good about itself the other ones don't reflect, maybe it's because it has a greater meaning to the composer himself. And I guess it does, the remix is great so thanks Tosh because I'm sure Mitsuda would be proud of this mix. :D

If Chrono Trigger had been stripped of its graphics, battle system, and all the multifaceted brilliance of its gameplay, I would have delighted still to play through the whole thing just to hear the music. And thankfully that wasn't the case. We got one of the best video games ever made, one that will never see an equal. Magnificent.

I remember back when Final Fantasy 7 came out, I remember getting mad as hell because I wanted Square to make Chrono Trigger their Flagship Franchise instead of Final Fantasy.

I love this original song and this remix is just as amazing, although i don't know that it tops the original seeing as how Yasunori Mitsuda is a musical god.
Yeah it`s a good mix. I have my PSP modded up with all the emulators and when I go into the exit to save state or what or change game mode it puts on one of about 30 tunes. This song. Well the original being one of them. I can listen to it OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Great tune. Memories flood back in.

This is some of the best game music ever made. No question about it. What made Chrono Trigger so special was the varied emotional experiences evoked throughout the story, which is akin to any real-life harrowing experience. Life has more than one texture, and they include sadness, joy, humor, fear, confusion, rage, and ultimately, triumph. This song is a spectacular release of all that pent up emotion. A game and soundtrack that can never be duplicated.

o_O Really, i'd say the DS version is the only screw up... Chrono Cross was a great game, it was basically a side story to the Chrono series, it wasn't really a sequel. And besides, Chrono Cross had a great story and great music, story was good and held emotions, although the amount of characters really ruined the aspect of character evolution that Chrono Trigger had. They are both good games... It's just Chrono Trigger is better :D
personally i liked the idea of crono and friends taking a go at time/dream devourer but losing due to the lack of the chrono cross. i mean, crono and friends had the power to cross time and they never confronted D/T devourer? the magus thing was kinda screwed but i still liked it:) the dalton conquering guardia was stupid IMO

Everyone, myself included, want to see Square do a Chrono series i the same way they do Final Fantasy, an on-going series with sequels that do not completely connect with each other, but slightly do, but more so than Final Fantasy (either alternate times, or realities made by changes in the time stream) but sadly that will never happen, and if it does it won't be by as talented people as Chrono Trigger was.

Final fantasy 8 it had a wide variety of amazing music and story that is truly epic and Zenogears my fav. rpg with music as engaging as well as epic to say the less...Zenogears is perhaps IMO the best rpg ever created and the game was actually rushed
im not usually a big fan of Remixes but this one, god dam, just perfectly mixes new sound to the original in a way where its just awsome~ hard to explain lol. def my fav song in the Chrono Trigger Soundtrack.

@zZeiss or, you can go on google, type in " video to mp3" and then click on the first site that comes up. then, take the url of this video, and it'll turn it itno a soundtrack for ya ^^
