Holy Koran also speaks of Noah but as prophet "Nooh" and also about how he made a big ark an took a pair of each animal to the ark and then floods and some time on the ark and finally landed onto a mountain peek, its interesting that the stories of holy bible and holy torah and holy Koran are really close like the story of Jesus, loot and Abraham and Moses and others are also close. i think that Judaism, Christianity and Islam are Abrahamic religion and we all pray to the same god god of Abraham
@gregrutz: Don't try to use logic to argue with the illogical. HR already has his mind made up and in spite of all evidence to the contrary he will always believe in the flood, God, and heaven. If there is ANY evidence of god, I'm willing to listen but so far there is NONE, just strong faith and the definition of faith is belief without evidence.
@2;30 ''no Unconformity'' WHAT!?! There are major unconformities in the Grand Canyon. That is a flat out lie.
.
''Both marine and terrestrial sediments are represented, including fossilized sand dunes from an extinct desert. There are at least 14 known unconformities in the geologic record found in the Grand Canyon area.''

A giant GREEN HOUSE!! Does that mean they or we had GLOBAL WARMING back then? Is AL GORE and NOAH related? Is there a difference between a creator and creationist such pondering questions could drive a evilutionist crazy....=-( Later
@HolyRevelation if the flood covered the highest mountain how did they breath in the thin air. that would be evidence against the story. perhaps you hate science
@HolyRevelation Yes they are, we can measure the rate and tell how many millions of years they took to raise up. The same is true of sea floor speading. We can measure how fast the plates move.
@gregrutz That theory builds on the old concepts of continental drift, developed during the first decades of the 20th century. The continent's did not drift apart, the sea levels rose when the mid-oceanic ridges brook open releasing subterranean water.
If you believe that millions of years of drifting continent's is more logical than the sea levels simply rising up, then I can't help you.
@HolyRevelation The mid-Atlatic ridge is where lava comes to the surface. It was used in the 1950s to prove sea floor spreading. Read up on how they proved it.
They can measure how fast the continents are moving dummy.
@gregrutz Continental drift is only an old theory, not a fact.
The continents were not joined together in the past dummy, nor did they spread apart, the water levels rose.
Did you know that many buildings that use to line the coast before the flood are now under water?
The little bit of continental drift happening today is only the residual effects from when the subterranean water brook the Earths crust around 4 or 5000 years ago.
@HolyRevelation There are trees older than 5000 years old. The Chinese history goes back farther than 5000 years, many floods and not all of them died.
There is no evidence for oceans under rock. How did it get there? God put it there?
.
Did you know that many buildings that use to line the coast before the flood are now under water?
@HolyRevelation Overlap the tree ringa with another tree that died 4000 years ago, and overlap them by 1000 years so there is no chance of a mix up, and the rings now go back 7000 years with NO BREAK
@gregrutz While I'm not saying there was a global flood, one way to look at that line is that as the waters receded, the mountains that were under the water started to reappear after being covered for so long. It all depends on how you read it.
@Strife1969 ''that as the waters receded'' Receded to where? Where did the water go? Did it go back underground? NO. Did it go back into a hovind canopy? NO. Where did 10,000 feet of water go?
@gregrutz I only meant it about the way it was described, about the moutains being seen and such. Other then that, I have no clue where all of that water would go.
@HolyRevelation Wrong, People reject the flood story because of the lack of evidence. Bible packing Geologists went looking for evidence of a global flood over 200 years ago. They did not find any.
They found distinct layers of different kinds of rock with different fossil in them. Floods don't do that. They discovered it must have taken millions of years to make what we see. They knew the earth was Millions of years old before radiometric dating was invented.
@HolyRevelation The Ubaid culture lived in Mesopotamia in 5000BC and the flood didn’t obliterate their civilization.
Apparently the flood didn't reach China either as the Peiligang culture came into existence in 7000BC. This was quite an advanced culture and the Chinese were already accomplished farmers at this early date.
I hate your ignorance about common sense. There prob was "a" flood around 5000 yrs ago, and it was recorded by the Sumerians, Egyptians, etc. Maybe a family built a boat. But if you f**king think God did it to erase "the earth" you're prob wrong. I think there was a translation of "world" to earth somewhere...at that time the "world" simply refered to the lands that only whoever wrote it knew of.If u think God put a rainbow in the sky for a promise, you don't know optics!
Genesis is fiction:This is the teaching of amillenial covenant theology which is based on an allegorical interpretation of Scripture as opposed to a literal one This is the dominant teaching in most theological seminaries and has been for decades. As an example, there are 106 schools in the Christian College Coalition. Of those 106 only 5 teach a literal interpretation of the Genesis account of creation or that the flood was global
Coconino Sandstone is a geologic formation that spreads across the Colorado Plateau
This rock formation is particularly prominent in southeastern Utah. It is also in the Grand Canyon, where it is visible as a prominent white cliff-forming layer. Coconino sandstone appears below the Kaibab Limestone and the Toroweap layer. Coconino layers are typically buff to white in color. It consists primarily of sand deposited by eolian processes (wind-deposited) 260 million years ago.
@32asbgrtwah NOT ALL SEDIMENT IS FROM A FLOOD. The layers in the Grand Canyon were not made in a flood, it took millions of years. There was no global flood, no mud layer with all the dead bodies in it.
@gregrutz What you said is true and false, perhaps. They way I see it, to the people of the Middle East the world was pretty much Turkey, Africa, Iran, Iraq Assyria etc. That was their world. A flood that engulfed the Middle East was global for them. But other races of people (such as the Native American Indians) ) state a similar story that a man rescued all such animals and put them in a seaworthy craft.
@gregrutz I never said science was based on stories did I? But the stories of those 200 or so races were MYTHS!! Myths do not have any truth in them 90% of the time (in most cases no truth at all). Your just bringing in the term "science" because you are not understanding my point. Yes, you are right there was no global flood but there were only regional floods that SEEMED global to the inhabitants, particular of the people like Noah in the Middle East.
@gregrutz Oh and the mud layer? Well hmmmmmmm........ As I said this flood was regional NOT global. Geologists and archeologists have to find the right places to dig, perhaps?
@gregrutz It sound like you are ignorant of the fact that ancient human fossils HAVE been found from time to time that per date the flood. Further confirming that Earths climate was very different per flood.
Take for instance in 1997, near the Ethiopian village of Herto, Berkeley paleontologist Tim White found the oldest known modern human fossils. Because the skulls are much larger than those of modern-day humans, scientists have classified them as a subspecies, ie Giants.
@HolyRevelation Homo Giants?!? Let me check my list: Sahelanthropus tchadensis, Orrorin tugenensis, Ardipithecus ramidus, Australopithecus anamensis, Australopithecus afarensis, Kenyanthropus platyops, Australopithecus africanus, Australopithecus garhi, Australopithecus aethiopicus, Australopithecus robustus, Australopithecus boisei, Homo habilis, Homo georgicus, Homo erectus, Homo ergaster, Homo antecessor, Homo heidelbergensis, Homo floresiensis.
@gregrutz I'm glad that you're now admitting that many per flood human fossils have been found.
Now tell me the name of the mud layer with all those human fossils, ie dead bodies in it?
Based on geological and historical records, the great flood happened about 5000 years ago.
You're free to reject the flood, God, the Bible, geological and historical records but you haven't given me any ground to believe that your scepticism is correct.
@HolyRevelation Based on geological and historical records, the great flood Never happened.
Geologists proved there was never a flood. The Chinese historical records prove they didn't all die 5000 years ago. The Egyptinan History shows they didn't all die in a flood.
@gregrutz Can you not get it through your thick skull? I have told you time and again there was no global flood. It was a flood that was regional that SEEMED global. Let me give you another example: to the people of the Middle East, most of what we know today as the Middle East was their world. A huge flood may have occurred but that may have been regional but SEEMED global. And the mud layer? Think about it. You do now that water can wash objects away, right? The bodies may have floated away.
@HolyRevelation '' By 6000 BC Egyptians in the SW corner of Egypt were herding cattle and constructing large buildings. Subsistence in organized and permanent settlements in predynastic Egypt by the middle of the 6th millennium BC centered predominantly on cereal and animal agriculture. Metal objects replaced prior ones of stone. Tanning of animal skins, pottery and weaving are common. There are indications of seasonal occupation of the Al Fayyum in the 6th millennium BC. ''
Plate tectonics. There is not some shells washed up there, The whole top of the mountains IS an old Seabed, pushed up there over millions of years. GPS shows how fast the plates are moving.
@gregrutz Not possible. There is an incredible amount of shells on mountains all over the world, showing clearly the worldwide flood. Incremental millimeters per year over millions of years? The same GPS would show that the mountains would be eroded back down into the sea.
@earlysda There are no ''shells on mountains''. The top third of the Matterhorn is sea bed the is part of the African Plate. The tops of the mountains were below sea level and now the whole sea bed is the mountain.
.
Incremental millimeters per year over millions of years?
No one say that. Uniformitarianism say the PROCESSES are the same, NOT that it was slow, gradual or uniform. GPS shows Mt. Everest is still raising 1 in. per year.
@earlysda My 'Belief system' is called Science. The science of Geology shows the earth is millions of years old. They proved there was no global flood. Look at the evidence.
@gregrutz My belief system is based on a book that explains the evidence that we see all around us. Evolutionists' belief system is based on a multitude of books that are constantly "evolving" with little concern for the evidence.
@earlysda '' a book that explains the evidence '' No it does not. Geologists find distinct layers of different kinds of rock in random order all over the world. Floods don' do that.
Paleontologist find fossils sorted simple to complex, floods don't do that.
Science explains what we find in nature, your 2000 year old book has been show to be wrong many times. Galileo was one of the first.
Theories constantly evolve to match the new evidence.
@gregrutz Wrong on every count except the last. There have many theories come and gone to explain our origins. The latest flavor of "consensus think - damned the evidence" is called "Evolution". It is an impossibility, yet many have belief in it that theory which should shame those who profess to believe the word of God.
@1965panther1965 The sea creatures grew in the ocean, then the whole area was uplifted by Plate Tectonics over millions of years. The top of the mountain IS an old sea bed thousands of feet think. There are not just shells on the top of the mountain. Read a Geology book to learn more.
Try to think about this. If God blinks and misses a thousand of our years how long is one of his days? Could it be that heaven and earth were made in 7 of God's days that would equate to millions if not billions of our years. This would give God time to create man through evelution.
@jemp4704 Well in the bible God created each of the 7 days in human generations...so a Generation is a parent age when they have there child which is usually 20-25 years so if each of the seven days took 20 years plus that could be how you have such things as Dinosaurs...just me guessing but you have to think it could be possible.
@blacklion105 That is a possibility also. Many of our questions may not be answered until we meet our creator or have more information to go on. I still have problems with how old some of the first men in the Bible lived. I found that 21 generations covered over 1,500 years. That would take either God's will or some science that is more advanced than our own now.
@jemp4704 Come on, man! Think laterally! I understand you follow the bible (or at least refer to it), so do I. Strange, for an atheist. The men the four thousand years ago were just goat herders and cattle keepers. They did not live in cities of wealth but in villages and tent camps of squalor, filth and dullness. They ate the worst food all their life! And so they thought, well there must be something better to life than this. They created god and heaven as as symbol of hope.
@jemp4704 About what you also said. Be serious and start thinking, buddy! These men could not possibly live hundreds of years! It is impossible. Neither god's will and technology DO NOT come into the matter whatsoever. The bible writers stated that Noah lived until they were into his 900th years, for example. I see these ages as being a symbol of wisdom. One would believe that one gets older over time, yeah? So the ancients may have measured poeple's wisdom by their age.
the Chinese were cultivating rice over 10,000 years ago... that screws up all notions of floods or adam and eve... or floods since there are artifacts in a linear progression through early Chinese agriculture from then to now!
its amazing how man thinks if he cant prove it it did not happen hell the earth has been here long before us so has god obviously but oh no man knows it all sounds like satin himself look were it got him
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I only said scientist twice! ( if you're talking about me) But in all truthfulness, I believe in creation AND evolution. There's an episode in GENESIS after Cain kills Abel.Cain says to GOD, something like "now you're going to put me out in the world with all those people who will try to kill me for my crime"! How can there be people when Adam & Eve Cain Abel were the first people on earth? For the rest of you...open up a bank account.A memory bank! Remember on JUDGEMENT DAY what you said today!
Apes, (monkeys) did not turn into man!!! Whether it was over night, or over the course of millions of years!!! These days scientist are starting to "concede" that there was in fact a flood. Even when it comes to life on other planets! "The Drake Equation"!!! Some scientists are starting to admit that the planets and stars etc. are not by chance but by design.
I belive in God but there is scientific proof that man evolved from apes, our brains became larger and larger over millions of years, it's fact look it up. How do we not know Noah wasn't an ape like person? I don't see any reason why not.
Excuse me but what good did the Flood actually do? God wanted to get rid of evil people, then a few years after the Flood people are all evil again. Kilt all those people for nothing
Raiden36O: before i go to eat a banana can you repeat exactly how you proved that Noah didnt search for all the animals?
Gladly; first of all you will not find a single verse that would even imply that Noah searched for these animals, so that is one hint. 2nd, there are verses that gave hints that the animals came to Noah;
Gen 7:2 & 9 Of every clean beast THOU SHALT TAKE TO THEE by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. THERE WENT IN two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
These upper case letters imply that Noah was simply waiting for the animals to arrive and to accommodate them into the ark. As the Creator of course this feat will not be impossible to God.
That canopy od water filtered sunrays halting DNA damage and giving long life. Staurn was looked into and NASA admitted that planets can have watery canopys. After Noah's account, life spans dropped in half! Noah was rich, equivelant to Bill Gates today. I think it would help if you mentioned his evangelical attempts and that he gave builders and low class antedilluvians and equivelant to $150 per hour today to build the ark based on God's directions, for a floating box.
I know and understand that this is hard for you to believe it so let's just suppose that I am simply explaining the possible scenario and not convincing you to believe in it.
Raiden36O: Am i to understand that all the kangaroos swam accross the pacific ocean?
No; if memory serves me well, on earth's early stage (particularly the habitable period) science declared that there used to be land bridges connecting all the continents together before they were broken up through the ages and resulted in what we see today. If this is true then the logical conclusion would be all the animals that came in and out of the ark traveled through these land bridges.
When, exactly? Land bridges have been comprehensively trashed as an explanation when a better idea (continental drift driven by convestion currents in the mantle) came along. That's how science work - it IMPROVES as new evidence comes to light.
To confess one thing to you I was once a member for almost 3 years on a certain atheist community here on the net. I've never been an atheist even during this time but some people there felt it necessary to invite believers in their community to keep the community alive with conversation heated as the conversation sometimes maybe.
To their credit most of the tactical arguments that I am presently using I've learn from them in my time of stay with the group. In my opinion most atheist are nice people and living quietly with their lives. I even have a friend at work who admitted to me that he was an atheist but we never allow our differences in belief get in the way of our friendship.
From time to time we mildly discuss these subjects but if we came to a point where we feel we would be at odds to each other we simply dismiss the discussion and just continue with what we're doing. It's quite rare that I meet atheist like you who simply shrugs a heated argument and simply give way. I hope that there will be more like you, perhaps in some unusual way we would learn to live in peace. Cheers Bro.
One last attempt in hope to teach you some knowledge before you return to your "natural habitat;" Try to say the word "banana," say it; BA-NA-NA, BANANA. Lol
Yea i was walking home and i saw it, i thought it was small at first but it turned out it was huge and just really far away. When i came back the next day with my friend it was gone, i think the police took it as a coverup.
home... you mean you live in the mountains of Ararat? Is that area even populated? And the police took it away huh? You have any idea how heavy it was?
Yea and so is the bullsh*it story about a 600 year old drunk man building an ark the size of a small country, able to hold 7 of every clean animal and enough food for him and a million plus animals to live off for years.
Oh also the part about the suposidly loving God which you beleive in deciding to murder a billion people and a trillion animals. Hopfuly he decides to get rid of all the stupid people next time and floods your house.
Muahahaha.... just as I suspected; so predictable, muahahaha... and an idiot too, it was 2 pairs not seven, muahahaha... and it was not years but months, straighten up your info, muahahaha...
Now if you can prove that God has no right to decide about His creations then by all means do so. It'll be like telling your president he has no right to decide for the fate of a convicted man if death penalty is mandated in your country, idiot, hahahaha....
Um no actually your the idiot, it was 7 of every clean animal (exactly what i said), and 2 of every non-clean animal, look it up muppet. And also, according to the story it rained for 40 days and 40 nights, but then after that 40th day did the water that had built up just magically disapear, or did they have to remain on the ark for many more months waiting for the water to drain away? your an idiot, perhaps you should learn the facts about your stupid story a little more closley.
Just in case your too stupid to look it up ill quote it for you, whose the monkey now?
Genesis 7:23:Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.
You really should actually learn whats in the book you love so much before you call other people monkeys for not believing it.
Well you should be proud that I'm calling you a monkey; after all, that's what you've been insisting right? So I've made a mistake big deal, I'm only human you know? Unlike you playing god "monkeying" the genes? Get it? hahaha....
Did I hurt your feelings? Shouldn't you be proud that I'm calling you a monkey? That's what fools like you are actually insisting, isn't that correct? Are you denying it now?
Whats that? you have nothing to say about you being wrong and not actually knowing anything about the story? thats okay, i guess you can try to cover it up by acting like you hurt the other persons feelings, nice.
Well it's not knowing the exact story that counts for us Christians, it's the law that needs to be observe is what we follow. You see unlike heathens like you at least we know that it is wrong to commit fornication, adultery, false witness, kill, steal, etc. This is what's important and not knowing every detail in the book. But I know that these ideas meant nothing to people like you since you enjoy doing these things, huh?
"You see unlike heathens like you at least we know that it is wrong to commit fornication, adultery, false witness, kill, steal, etc. This is what's important and not knowing every detail in the book. But I know that these ideas meant nothing to people like you since you enjoy doing these things, huh?"
I was just agreeing with your post, so i guess you think your own argument is pathetic and childish, fair enough.
You didn't get my point. It does not matter who's argument it is anymore; I'm looking for more challenging topics. If all you can do is follow my lead then you're indeed childish and pathetic.
What i find most amusing about you, is that you call other people idiots and pathetic for getting the details of the story wrong, but then when it is revealed that it is actually you who is wrong, you say the details don't matter.
I didn't pretend to be a believer at first, so who's the hypocrite? The problem with you is that you try to deceive people, but when you realize that your idiotic tactic does not work you then resorted to blaming your adversary to recuperate from your failed attempt.
Generally your given statement concerning your so-called "discovery" is a direct mockery of my belief, perhaps a reaction to my given statement that you've read.
But my reaction was due to ragemanchoo82's statement; "In this case it does. its called quack science. The same flood that created the grand canyon is also the Noah flood? BULL. SHIT." I don't make statements simply out of whim; but when my belief is attacked, you can be sure that I'll retaliate vigorously.
The problem with you is that you didn't read the entire thread first before you react. So if you receive negative responses you've no one to blame but yourself. You undermine believers simply because you believe there is no God. If you want to prove your case then present your argument directly and logically. Counter the issues circling around this topic including history, archeology, and scientific aspects to prove your point.
Committing ad hominem is a fallacy so there is really no point in pursuing this aspect, that's why I've asked if you have no better argument to offer. It's simply a waste of time to engage on childish disputes when there is something more important matters to attend to. Detail may vary concerning topics or issues, but the point on every topic or issue is the essence behind them.
and im not sure if you relise this but you dont actually have an argument. Ive presented the obserditity of a 600 year old drunk man building an ark the size of a state, travelling the globe collecting every type of animal, leading them back to this giant ark and putting them in cages, and this lone ark housing millions of animals, plus enough food to sustain them for at least a year. All youve done is call people who dont beleive idiots.
Again there are misleading information on your statements. The Bible never stated that Noah traveled around the world to collect these animals, these are the exact statements;
Gen 7:2 Of every clean beast THOU SHALT TAKE TO THEE by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Gen 7:9 THERE WENT IN two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
If you are to understand the essence of these statements, the animals came to Noah, since it has not been mentioned that Noah roamed around the world to gather these animals.
Concerning sustenance; there are alternatives aside from their natural food. The carnivorous animals, if indeed at that point they are, can survive on milk alone provided by animals that produce them. The plant eating animals is what Noah and his family labored to stock in the ark
provisions for these animals and for them > Gen 6:21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
This is aside from the fact that it rained for quite a long time. Therefore naturally these animals will hibernate slowing down their metabolism decreasing the necessity for food sustenance. And again you are misleading readers because there is not one verse that you can produce to prove that Noah was ever a drunkard. Noah drank of the wine > Gen 9:21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
There is a big difference between a drunkard as you are implying in your statement and those who drink occasionally. Unless you are a total retard you know this and understood it perfectly.
Raiden36O: "All youve done is call people who dont beleive idiots."
That's because there is good reason to call them as such. All that people like you do is to find fault in our belief to promote yours. You even go to the point of mocking our belief without even addressing the history, archeology, moral and scientific aspects of our belief; branding them as nonsensical, acting as if you're the authority to be consulted concerning these issues.
In reality people like you are nothing more than braggarts who try to push believers around, intimidating and mocking religious believers simply because that is where you get your "kicks." You have no real argument to offer; notice it yourself. Whenever people like you engage an argument you typically start by dismissing our reference for our defense, branding it as fairy tales, illogical, nonsensical.
This is because you knew that if you ever have the "balls" to face these issues you have no chance to win your argument. Face it, you are a joke on every reputable discussions. Without your arrogance you'll be a whimpering idiot lost at words to defend your concept. Now, you said that I have no argument; let's test if your argument is really something worth considering. Here are verses concerning the story of Noah;
Gen 6:19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. Gen 6:20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.
Gen 7:2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Gen 7:3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.
Notice that on Gen 6:19-20 God clearly commanded TWO OF EVERY SORT, yet on Gen 7:2-3 of every clean beast and fowls of the air shall be taken by sevens, but then again on Gen 7:8-9 only two of every sort went in to Noah's ark. Did the writer of Genesis made a mistake? Or was it your understanding of the verses is the one having a dilemma? Let's REALLY see IF you have an argument.
Wow your pretty angry, its amazing you were able to write an essay about wether it was 2 or 7 animals. Is that your argument? that it was only 2 animals so therefor the story is true? it makes no diffrence wether it was 2 or 7 because the number of animals which Noah would have to find and put on the ark would be impossible anyway. Anyone with half a brain an an understanding of logic can see that the story is impossible with or without your 'hibernating' animals to conserve food lol.
At this point you're really proving yourself to be a monkey after all; since only people with the IQ of a chimp wouldn't understand what I said when I've proven that Noah didn't search for those animals. Only people with enough sense and understanding can even grasp the comprehension required to understand such a statement.
Find someone else to bother Raiden, you're a joke and forever will be a joke in serious discussions. It is beyond your capability to comprehend such things since your understanding will never go beyond peeling off bananas and chasing she-monkeys around in hope to continue your pathetic existence. Return to the forest and play with your "playmates."
One last attempt in hope to teach you some knowledge before you return to your "natural habitat;" Try to say the word "banana," say it; BA-NA-NA, BANANA. Lol
The thing i find most hilarious about Noahs Ark though is why god made noah build this huge ark the size of a state and travel all accross the world finding 2 of every animal taking years of preperation just because he was going to flood the earth.
Why didnt he just flood the earth and create the animals again afterwards. It would take him what 1, 2 days tops to make all the animals so why didnt he just do that? i guess hes a bit lazy, A few days work is too much lol
one piece of evidence that is very true, is that anyone who refutes that God could have anything to do with the flood, do so with extreme anger. Weird!
@ 1:50 geologic column... catistrophic HYDROLIC burial. WRONG !
The Coconino Sandstone in the Grand Canyon was deposited by WIND. Not all Sedimentary rock is from water !
@2:35 NO unconformity. THAT IS AN OUTRIGHT LIE. THERE ARE MANY UNCONFORMITIES IN THE Grand Canyon. It is the most studied rock on earth.

@2;30 ''no Unconformity'' WHAT!?! There are major unconformities in the Grand Canyon. That is a flat out lie.
.
Both marine and terrestrial sediments are represented, including fossilized sand dunes from an extinct desert. There are at least 14 known unconformities in the geologic record found in the Grand Canyon area.

Many "Willfully Ignorant" people reject the fact of the flood, NOT, because of lack of evidence but because they just hate the Bible.

@HolyRevelation if the flood covered the highest mountain how did they breath in the thin air. that would be evidence against the story. perhaps you hate science

@thoughtpattern0 I love science, perhaps you hate God and the Bible.
Do you not know that the Bible says the mountains rose up at the end of the flood?
HolyRevelation 9 months ago
@HolyRevelation ''the Bible says the mountains rose up at the end of the flood?''
Wow, so it is wrong again !
gregrutz 8 months ago
@gregrutz Do you not know that the mountains are still slowly rising up today?
Wow, so it's right again after all! WINNING
HolyRevelation 8 months ago
@HolyRevelation Yes they are, we can measure the rate and tell how many millions of years they took to raise up. The same is true of sea floor speading. We can measure how fast the plates move.
There was no global flood.
gregrutz 8 months ago
@gregrutz That theory builds on the old concepts of continental drift, developed during the first decades of the 20th century. The continent's did not drift apart, the sea levels rose when the mid-oceanic ridges brook open releasing subterranean water.
If you believe that millions of years of drifting continent's is more logical than the sea levels simply rising up, then I can't help you.
HolyRevelation 8 months ago
@HolyRevelation The mid-Atlatic ridge is where lava comes to the surface. It was used in the 1950s to prove sea floor spreading. Read up on how they proved it.
They can measure how fast the continents are moving dummy.
gregrutz 8 months ago
@gregrutz Continental drift is only an old theory, not a fact.
The continents were not joined together in the past dummy, nor did they spread apart, the water levels rose.
Did you know that many buildings that use to line the coast before the flood are now under water?
The little bit of continental drift happening today is only the residual effects from when the subterranean water brook the Earths crust around 4 or 5000 years ago.
HolyRevelation 8 months ago
@HolyRevelation There are trees older than 5000 years old. The Chinese history goes back farther than 5000 years, many floods and not all of them died.
There is no evidence for oceans under rock. How did it get there? God put it there?
.
Did you know that many buildings that use to line the coast before the flood are now under water?
ZERO
gregrutz 8 months ago
@gregrutz Do you really think it's just a coincidence that the oldest trees on Earth are around 5000 years old?

Do you even believe that I exist?
HolyRevelation 8 months ago
@HolyRevelation Overlap the tree ringa with another tree that died 4000 years ago, and overlap them by 1000 years so there is no chance of a mix up, and the rings now go back 7000 years with NO BREAK
=====NO FLOOD
gregrutz 8 months ago
@gregrutz While I'm not saying there was a global flood, one way to look at that line is that as the waters receded, the mountains that were under the water started to reappear after being covered for so long. It all depends on how you read it.
Strife1969 8 months ago
@Strife1969 ''that as the waters receded'' Receded to where? Where did the water go? Did it go back underground? NO. Did it go back into a hovind canopy? NO. Where did 10,000 feet of water go?
gregrutz 8 months ago
@gregrutz I only meant it about the way it was described, about the moutains being seen and such. Other then that, I have no clue where all of that water would go.
Strife1969 8 months ago
@HolyRevelation But all the evidence proves there was no global flood, it is called Geology, a science.
gregrutz 8 months ago

@HolyRevelation Wrong, People reject the flood story because of the lack of evidence. Bible packing Geologists went looking for evidence of a global flood over 200 years ago. They did not find any.
They found distinct layers of different kinds of rock with different fossil in them. Floods don't do that. They discovered it must have taken millions of years to make what we see. They knew the earth was Millions of years old before radiometric dating was invented.
gregrutz 8 months ago
@HolyRevelation The Ubaid culture lived in Mesopotamia in 5000BC and the flood didn’t obliterate their civilization.
Apparently the flood didn't reach China either as the Peiligang culture came into existence in 7000BC. This was quite an advanced culture and the Chinese were already accomplished farmers at this early date.
gregrutz 8 months ago
@HolyRevelation

It consists primarily of sand deposited by eolian processes (wind-deposited) 260 million years ago.
gregrutz 2 years ago 2
@gregrutz And? Your point being?
32asbgrtwah 8 months ago
@32asbgrtwah NOT ALL SEDIMENT IS FROM A FLOOD. The layers in the Grand Canyon were not made in a flood, it took millions of years. There was no global flood, no mud layer with all the dead bodies in it.
gregrutz 8 months ago
@gregrutz What you said is true and false, perhaps. They way I see it, to the people of the Middle East the world was pretty much Turkey, Africa, Iran, Iraq Assyria etc. That was their world. A flood that engulfed the Middle East was global for them. But other races of people (such as the Native American Indians) ) state a similar story that a man rescued all such animals and put them in a seaworthy craft.
32asbgrtwah 8 months ago
@32asbgrtwah '' a similar story '' Science is not based on stories. What is the name of the flood mud layer with all the dead bodies in it?
gregrutz 8 months ago
@gregrutz I never said science was based on stories did I? But the stories of those 200 or so races were MYTHS!! Myths do not have any truth in them 90% of the time (in most cases no truth at all). Your just bringing in the term "science" because you are not understanding my point. Yes, you are right there was no global flood but there were only regional floods that SEEMED global to the inhabitants, particular of the people like Noah in the Middle East.
32asbgrtwah 8 months ago
@gregrutz Oh and the mud layer? Well hmmmmmmm........ As I said this flood was regional NOT global. Geologists and archeologists have to find the right places to dig, perhaps?
32asbgrtwah 8 months ago
@gregrutz It sound like you are ignorant of the fact that ancient human fossils HAVE been found from time to time that per date the flood. Further confirming that Earths climate was very different per flood.
Take for instance in 1997, near the Ethiopian village of Herto, Berkeley paleontologist Tim White found the oldest known modern human fossils. Because the skulls are much larger than those of modern-day humans, scientists have classified them as a subspecies, ie Giants.
HolyRevelation 8 months ago
@HolyRevelation Homo Giants?!? Let me check my list: Sahelanthropus tchadensis, Orrorin tugenensis, Ardipithecus ramidus, Australopithecus anamensis, Australopithecus afarensis, Kenyanthropus platyops, Australopithecus africanus, Australopithecus garhi, Australopithecus aethiopicus, Australopithecus robustus, Australopithecus boisei, Homo habilis, Homo georgicus, Homo erectus, Homo ergaster, Homo antecessor, Homo heidelbergensis, Homo floresiensis.
When was there a Flood?
gregrutz 8 months ago
@gregrutz I'm glad that you're now admitting that many per flood human fossils have been found.
Now tell me the name of the mud layer with all those human fossils, ie dead bodies in it?
Based on geological and historical records, the great flood happened about 5000 years ago.
You're free to reject the flood, God, the Bible, geological and historical records but you haven't given me any ground to believe that your scepticism is correct.
HolyRevelation 8 months ago
@HolyRevelation Based on geological and historical records, the great flood Never happened.
Geologists proved there was never a flood. The Chinese historical records prove they didn't all die 5000 years ago. The Egyptinan History shows they didn't all die in a flood.
Geology does not back it up.
History does not back it up.
Common Sense does not back it up
Physics does not back it up.
In fact they all prove there was no global flood.
gregrutz 8 months ago
@gregrutz Can you not get it through your thick skull? I have told you time and again there was no global flood. It was a flood that was regional that SEEMED global. Let me give you another example: to the people of the Middle East, most of what we know today as the Middle East was their world. A huge flood may have occurred but that may have been regional but SEEMED global. And the mud layer? Think about it. You do now that water can wash objects away, right? The bodies may have floated away.
32asbgrtwah 8 months ago
@gregrutz Of what you also said, give me some proof that says that geology, history, common sense and physics don't back up the biblical flood.
32asbgrtwah 8 months ago
@32asbgrtwah Geology: There is no flood mud layer. Floods don't make distinct layers of different kinds of rock. Geology proves millions of yrs.
History, The Chinese and Egyptians have a long history with lots of floods, they didn't all die in one.
Common Sense, Kangoroos only live in Australia, Why? Why didn't they hop to America too?
Physics, Where did 29,029 feet of water go. How did the salt water fish survive in rain water? How do you get all those animals AND PLANTS on a boat?
gregrutz 8 months ago
@gregrutz Get over it, they all prove there was a global flood, about 5000 years ago.
You're an enemy of God, Science, History, Common Sense and Truth.
If you want to reject the flood, go right ahead, if you want me to reject the flood, you need mental help.
HolyRevelation 8 months ago

Subsistence in organized and permanent settlements in predynastic Egypt by the middle of the 6th millennium BC centered predominantly on cereal and animal agriculture. gregrutz 2 years ago
Then how do you EXPLAIN Mr. Geologist, how fossils of sea creatures and shells exist on mountain tops?
1965panther1965 1 year ago
@1965panther1965
Plate tectonics. There is not some shells washed up there, The whole top of the mountains IS an old Seabed, pushed up there over millions of years. GPS shows how fast the plates are moving.
gregrutz 1 year ago 3
@gregrutz Not possible. There is an incredible amount of shells on mountains all over the world, showing clearly the worldwide flood. Incremental millimeters per year over millions of years? The same GPS would show that the mountains would be eroded back down into the sea.
earlysda 1 month ago
@earlysda There are no ''shells on mountains''. The top third of the Matterhorn is sea bed the is part of the African Plate. The tops of the mountains were below sea level and now the whole sea bed is the mountain.
.
Incremental millimeters per year over millions of years?
No one say that. Uniformitarianism say the PROCESSES are the same, NOT that it was slow, gradual or uniform. GPS shows Mt. Everest is still raising 1 in. per year.
gregrutz 1 month ago
@gregrutz Your belief system is incredible, as there is no evidence supporting it. I'd rather believe the evidence, thank you.
earlysda 1 month ago
@earlysda My 'Belief system' is called Science. The science of Geology shows the earth is millions of years old. They proved there was no global flood. Look at the evidence.
There is no evidence for a 'canopy of water'.
gregrutz 1 month ago
@gregrutz My belief system is based on a book that explains the evidence that we see all around us. Evolutionists' belief system is based on a multitude of books that are constantly "evolving" with little concern for the evidence.
earlysda 1 month ago
@earlysda '' a book that explains the evidence '' No it does not. Geologists find distinct layers of different kinds of rock in random order all over the world. Floods don' do that.
Paleontologist find fossils sorted simple to complex, floods don't do that.
Science explains what we find in nature, your 2000 year old book has been show to be wrong many times. Galileo was one of the first.
Theories constantly evolve to match the new evidence.
gregrutz 1 month ago
@gregrutz Wrong on every count except the last. There have many theories come and gone to explain our origins. The latest flavor of "consensus think - damned the evidence" is called "Evolution". It is an impossibility, yet many have belief in it that theory which should shame those who profess to believe the word of God.

@1965panther1965 Great Point sir!!
VIKING33NY 1 year ago
@1965panther1965 The sea creatures grew in the ocean, then the whole area was uplifted by Plate Tectonics over millions of years. The top of the mountain IS an old sea bed thousands of feet think. There are not just shells on the top of the mountain. Read a Geology book to learn more.
gregrutz 1 month ago
Try to think about this. If God blinks and misses a thousand of our years how long is one of his days? Could it be that heaven and earth were made in 7 of God's days that would equate to millions if not billions of our years. This would give God time to create man through evelution.
jemp4704 2 years ago
EVOLUTION: not evelution. And if you read the bible, one day is like 1000 years. SO creation could have taken 7000 years. Read your bible.
1965panther1965 1 year ago
@jemp4704 Well in the bible God created each of the 7 days in human generations...so a Generation is a parent age when they have there child which is usually 20-25 years so if each of the seven days took 20 years plus that could be how you have such things as Dinosaurs...just me guessing but you have to think it could be possible.
blacklion105 11 months ago
@blacklion105 That is a possibility also. Many of our questions may not be answered until we meet our creator or have more information to go on. I still have problems with how old some of the first men in the Bible lived. I found that 21 generations covered over 1,500 years. That would take either God's will or some science that is more advanced than our own now.
jemp4704 10 months ago
@jemp4704 Come on, man! Think laterally! I understand you follow the bible (or at least refer to it), so do I. Strange, for an atheist. The men the four thousand years ago were just goat herders and cattle keepers. They did not live in cities of wealth but in villages and tent camps of squalor, filth and dullness. They ate the worst food all their life! And so they thought, well there must be something better to life than this. They created god and heaven as as symbol of hope.
32asbgrtwah 8 months ago
@jemp4704 About what you also said. Be serious and start thinking, buddy! These men could not possibly live hundreds of years! It is impossible. Neither god's will and technology DO NOT come into the matter whatsoever. The bible writers stated that Noah lived until they were into his 900th years, for example. I see these ages as being a symbol of wisdom. One would believe that one gets older over time, yeah? So the ancients may have measured poeple's wisdom by their age.

Raiden36O: before i go to eat a banana can you repeat exactly how you proved that Noah didnt search for all the animals?
Gladly; first of all you will not find a single verse that would even imply that Noah searched for these animals, so that is one hint. 2nd, there are verses that gave hints that the animals came to Noah;
r0sscun 3 years ago

Raiden36O: Am i to understand that all the kangaroos swam accross the pacific ocean?
r0sscun 3 years ago
No; if memory serves me well, on earth's early stage (particularly the habitable period) science declared that there used to be land bridges connecting all the continents together before they were broken up through the ages and resulted in what we see today. If this is true then the logical conclusion would be all the animals that came in and out of the ark traveled through these land bridges.
r0sscun 3 years ago
'Science declared...'

I've never been an atheist even during this time but some people there felt it necessary to invite believers in their community to keep the community alive with conversation heated as the conversation sometimes maybe.
r0sscun 3 years ago
To their credit most of the tactical arguments that I am presently using I've learn from them in my time of stay with the group. In my opinion most atheist are nice people and living quietly with their lives. I even have a friend at work who admitted to me that he was an atheist but we never allow our differences in belief get in the way of our friendship.
r0sscun 3 years ago
From time to time we mildly discuss these subjects but if we came to a point where we feel we would be at odds to each other we simply dismiss the discussion and just continue with what we're doing. It's quite rare that I meet atheist like you who simply shrugs a heated argument and simply give way. I hope that there will be more like you, perhaps in some unusual way we would learn to live in peace. Cheers Bro.

Did I hurt your feelings? Shouldn't you be proud that I'm calling you a monkey? That's what fools like you are actually insisting, isn't that correct? Are you denying it now?
r0sscun 3 years ago
Whats that? you have nothing to say about you being wrong and not actually knowing anything about the story? thats okay, i guess you can try to cover it up by acting like you hurt the other persons feelings, nice.
Raiden36O 3 years ago
Well it's not knowing the exact story that counts for us Christians, it's the law that needs to be observe is what we follow. You see unlike heathens like you at least we know that it is wrong to commit fornication, adultery, false witness, kill, steal, etc. This is what's important and not knowing every detail in the book. But I know that these ideas meant nothing to people like you since you enjoy doing these things, huh?
r0sscun 3 years ago
Yes you are correct, anyone who does not believe in Noah's ark enjoys killing and stealing from other people.
Raiden36O 3 years ago
Aww... this is getting childish. Have you no valid argument to offer? Your argument's pathetic, you know?
r0sscun 3 years ago
That wasnt my argument, it was yours
"You see unlike heathens like you at least we know that it is wrong to commit fornication, adultery, false witness, kill, steal, etc. This is what's important and not knowing every detail in the book. But I know that these ideas meant nothing to people like you since you enjoy doing these things, huh?"
I was just agreeing with your post, so i guess you think your own argument is pathetic and childish, fair enough.
Raiden36O 3 years ago
You didn't get my point. It does not matter who's argument it is anymore; I'm looking for more challenging topics. If all you can do is follow my lead then you're indeed childish and pathetic.
r0sscun 3 years ago
What i find most amusing about you, is that you call other people idiots and pathetic for getting the details of the story wrong, but then when it is revealed that it is actually you who is wrong, you say the details don't matter.
Your very hypocritical
Raiden36O 3 years ago
I didn't pretend to be a believer at first, so who's the hypocrite? The problem with you is that you try to deceive people, but when you realize that your idiotic tactic does not work you then resorted to blaming your adversary to recuperate from your failed attempt.
Generally your given statement concerning your so-called "discovery" is a direct mockery of my belief, perhaps a reaction to my given statement that you've read.
r0sscun 3 years ago
But my reaction was due to ragemanchoo82's statement; "In this case it does. its called quack science. The same flood that created the grand canyon is also the Noah flood? BULL. SHIT." I don't make statements simply out of whim; but when my belief is attacked, you can be sure that I'll retaliate vigorously.
r0sscun 3 years ago
The problem with you is that you didn't read the entire thread first before you react. So if you receive negative responses you've no one to blame but yourself. You undermine believers simply because you believe there is no God. If you want to prove your case then present your argument directly and logically. Counter the issues circling around this topic including history, archeology, and scientific aspects to prove your point.
r0sscun 3 years ago
Committing ad hominem is a fallacy so there is really no point in pursuing this aspect, that's why I've asked if you have no better argument to offer. It's simply a waste of time to engage on childish disputes when there is something more important matters to attend to. Detail may vary concerning topics or issues, but the point on every topic or issue is the essence behind them.
r0sscun 3 years ago
and im not sure if you relise this but you dont actually have an argument.
Raiden36O 3 years ago
Again there are misleading information on your statements. The Bible never stated that Noah traveled around the world to collect these animals, these are the exact statements;
Gen 7:2 Of every clean beast THOU SHALT TAKE TO THEE by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Gen 7:9 THERE WENT IN two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
r0sscun 3 years ago
If you are to understand the essence of these statements, the animals came to Noah, since it has not been mentioned that Noah roamed around the world to gather these animals.
Concerning sustenance; there are alternatives aside from their natural food. The carnivorous animals, if indeed at that point they are, can survive on milk alone provided by animals that produce them. The plant eating animals is what Noah and his family labored to stock in the ark
r0sscun 3 years ago
provisions for these animals and for them > Gen 6:21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
r0sscun 3 years ago
This is aside from the fact that it rained for quite a long time. Therefore naturally these animals will hibernate slowing down their metabolism decreasing the necessity for food sustenance. And again you are misleading readers because there is not one verse that you can produce to prove that Noah was ever a drunkard. Noah drank of the wine > Gen 9:21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
r0sscun 3 years ago
There is a big difference between a drunkard as you are implying in your statement and those who drink occasionally. Unless you are a total retard you know this and understood it perfectly.
r0sscun 3 years ago
Raiden36O: "All youve done is call people who dont beleive idiots."
That's because there is good reason to call them as such. All that people like you do is to find fault in our belief to promote yours. You even go to the point of mocking our belief without even addressing the history, archeology, moral and scientific aspects of our belief; branding them as nonsensical, acting as if you're the authority to be consulted concerning these issues.
r0sscun 3 years ago
In reality people like you are nothing more than braggarts who try to push believers around, intimidating and mocking religious believers simply because that is where you get your "kicks." You have no real argument to offer; notice it yourself. Whenever people like you engage an argument you typically start by dismissing our reference for our defense, branding it as fairy tales, illogical, nonsensical.
r0sscun 3 years ago
This is because you knew that if you ever have the "balls" to face these issues you have no chance to win your argument. Face it, you are a joke on every reputable discussions. Without your arrogance you'll be a whimpering idiot lost at words to defend your concept. Now, you said that I have no argument; let's test if your argument is really something worth considering. Here are verses concerning the story of Noah;
r0sscun 3 years ago
Gen 6:19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. Gen 6:20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.
r0sscun 3 years ago
Gen 7:2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Gen 7:3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.
r0sscun 3 years ago
Gen 7:8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
Gen 7:9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
r0sscun 3 years ago
Notice that on Gen 6:19-20 God clearly commanded TWO OF EVERY SORT, yet on Gen 7:2-3 of every clean beast and fowls of the air shall be taken by sevens, but then again on Gen 7:8-9 only two of every sort went in to Noah's ark. Did the writer of Genesis made a mistake? Or was it your understanding of the verses is the one having a dilemma? Let's REALLY see IF you have an argument.
r0sscun 3 years ago
Wow your pretty angry, its amazing you were able to write an essay about wether it was 2 or 7 animals. Is that your argument? that it was only 2 animals so therefor the story is true? it makes no diffrence wether it was 2 or 7 because the number of animals which Noah would have to find and put on the ark would be impossible anyway. Anyone with half a brain an an understanding of logic can see that the story is impossible with or without your 'hibernating' animals to conserve food lol.
Raiden36O 3 years ago
Raiden36O: Wow your pretty angry, its amazing you were able to write an essay about wether it was 2 or 7 animals.
So its clear, you are an moron with the IQ of a chimp and cannot even addressed the challenge, therefore no sensible argument to offer. Pitiful...
Raiden36O: Is that your argument? that it was only 2 animals so therefor the story is true?
Obviously I'm wasting my time on an idiot.
r0sscun 3 years ago
Raiden36O: it makes no diffrence wether it was 2 or 7
Ohohohohoh.... so now it makes no difference huh? I thought I was wrong in declaring just 2?
Raiden36O: because the number of animals which Noah would have to find and put on the ark would be impossible anyway.
r0sscun 3 years ago
At this point you're really proving yourself to be a monkey after all; since only people with the IQ of a chimp wouldn't understand what I said when I've proven that Noah didn't search for those animals. Only people with enough sense and understanding can even grasp the comprehension required to understand such a statement.
r0sscun 3 years ago

Raiden36O 3 years ago
one piece of evidence that is very true, is that anyone who refutes that God could have anything to do with the flood, do so with extreme anger. Weird!

If you can't dazzle them with brillance, dazzle them with B.S. What a load of old codswallop.

Actually, those scientists are in the extreme minority. :p

Being in the "extreme minority" doesn't necessarily make one wrong!

In this case it does. its called quack science. The same flood that created the grand canyon is also the noah flood? BULL. SHIT.
