  • *experienced players

  • nicely played. i enjoyed it very much. i play alto sax in a symphonic band and we are playing this song. if you thought this was difficult to learn you can just imagine what my band and i went through. we are 7th and 8th graders. its a difficult piece especially the key change at 66. though people may say middle schoolers cannot produce music as well as more experienced, i believe we can bring justice to this song. as i said before nicely played. i applaud thee.

  • FINALY! I LOVE THAT LOW BRASS SUPPORT! 5 STRAS GUYS! For a moment that person talking almost ruined the effrect this performance had. Love the volume starting at 1:44.

  • @fredlove2laugh Is this "stras" rating system a new one? Anyways, I almost got I heart attack.

  • That piccolo player is rockin' it out there. XD Way to represent!

  • I used to play 2rd trombone with a community band and this is the way we played it.

    Thanks for posting tis Band.Earl

  • HORRIBLE. That is the way to destroy a pasodoble. Why so fast? do you like to play Pomp & Circumstance March at this speed? ridiculous!!

  • WAY TOO FAST! but sounds better

  • It's not too fast, the written tempo is Vivace (very fast and lively).

  • this was almost too easy for my band to play, and i was in 6th grade.

now we're playing shadow rituals in 8th grade and Michael himself will be directing it at our state competition.

  • So the sound was phenomenal. I can hear no difference in that performance and the professional recording. Il

Your players' posture was not so well.

    Have a blessed day.

Oh, and @skamatt233: the name of the song is amparito roca, people just pronounce it incorrectly.

  • this is for sure how my Band preformed it! its fantastic!

  • WAY TO FAST OMG

  • @skamatt23 for some reason it's amparito on the music.

  • Band too loud, can't hear flute solo, but great job!

  • Amparita...NOT Aparito!

  • this is performed sooooo well... amazed.... :)

  • NO IT's NOT!!!!!!

  • My band is playing this song for Spring concert. I love it so much, it's always stuck in my head. Lol.

  • too fast, it all seems rushed when you listen to it fast. :\ not good. but pretty good. the percussion could be a bit quieter:\ it like thunder!! :\

  • I love this song but one of the French Horns (Horn in F) hates this song cuz he plays one note the entire time. XD Otherwise I love this song. At the bottom of my sheet music it says "Available for sale in every country EXCEPT SPAIN...." The song is nicknamed Spanish March XD...

  • We played this a few days ago for a concert, and we took it about this speed.. maybe faster. Our director is insane.

  • the trumpets have to be more present in their entrances and they could articulate more....there could be more dynamics.... their shouldn't be people talking during a performances.... performers should be dressed more appropriately....percussion needs to lay off a bit

  • Sounds like a circus march at this speed! Spanish bands never play it nearly this fast

  • WAY too fast to enjoy...This director is pushing his band students too hard. The sound he's getting is heavy and muddy, not clean. Of course the sound quality of the video is poor and maybe that contributed to the muddy sound.

  • AWESOME SPEED.

Thanks for not dragging it on for twenty minutes. :) it was awesome. good job.

  • A great paso doble, nicely performed, but too fast to suit me.

  • finally, a group that plays it at the RIGHT speed!!

  • i play trombone and can someone give me a few pointers on this song?

  • the key to this song on trombone is using alternate positions, using a light tongue, good dynamics, and lots of air. i played this song as a freshman and loved it! even though its pretty difficult at first

  • good job Baritones!!

  • amazing tempo. good job. one other band on YouTube plays it the normall speed.

  • BSHS is playing this in an up coming concert and it will be great!!! Were one of the best bands on the east coast!!!! and tempo isnt to fast at all idk what u guts are talkin about down there.

  • hahahahahaha that's the reason of my nikname. I think it's so fast jajaja and in the band where I play I do the flute solo.... this pasodoble is my favourite!!

  • wow, our band plays this WAY slower. haha

  • too fast

  • Umm, too fast?

That's actually close to the right tempo.

  • lol your band sucks if thats too fast.

  • best tempo ever rofl

  • It sounds really good,

the only problem is that you can barely hear the flute solo. With a band this size the solo should have been played by a piccolo.

  • outstanding.

i can't wait until my band starts working on this. i have the flute solo, too. ah!

  • o.o Beasts. My band is playing the same song a tad slower. I think that this is better, definetly means you have to have more control. Marginally much better than some of the slower tempos i've heard.

  • It sounds better at this tempo in my opinion. It also makes it much more interesting to play.

  • Having conducted this piece enumerable times, I can tell you that traditionally these type of works are played slower. However, this work tends to become lethargic at a slower tempo! very nice flute! Not easy to sing out in this section and you did quite well.

  • I'm a musician as well and this march is supposed to be vivace, lively not a funeral procession. Great tempo!

  • It must be played slower!!! I'm a Spanish musician and pasodobles aren't so fast!

  • Is sounds much better at this speed than at the funereal pace used by Spanish bands.

  • @Audinos Ok.

  • I loved playing this song!! So easy!!

  • This is a great song on a fair organ
