Hey Paul as usual your stuff is breathtaking and makes me want to dissolve my guitar in a tub of acid. Check out Keith Merrow on youtube sometime, his rhythm playing is +++ you will prolly dig it.
what do you make of the bridge on this ibanez? NO ibanez 7 strings come with an 'edge' or 'lo-pro edge' that are not j custom :(.
In my experience the edge-pro was so sub par, and I've heard nothing good about any of their other bridges. Vai / satriani, and in fact most ibanez players tend to swap the bridges for Edge's or lo-pros i notice. Id love to find a ibo 7 string off the shelf with a DECENT trem that can take abuse!
Hey Paul, I have a question about your picking technique. You seem to alter the position of the pick alot with your thumb and index finger (when your thumb knuckle bends). When you alternate pick fast lines, does theis play a big role, or is it mostly wrist?
@GuardianOfFate12 Hey there. No, It's mostly the wrist for fast lines. I don't think there's much of benefit of the knuckle movement and it happens when I'm relaxed and the fact that I am essentially an economy picker too. Cheers!
Hi, my name is Abel. i'm a musician aswell and a big fan. i've recently tried my hand at recording some of my own music, wondering if maybe you can take a listen to my track and maybe give me some pointers, from a producers standpoint. if its something your willing to do i;d love to send the track over. Thanks!
guys.. i'd stop asking for sounds and patches and settings :) the reason why it sounds like this is simple - his brain and his hands.. props Paul.. count me in as a huge fan of yours ;)
Hey Paul, I really like your tapping technique. I am trying to perfect that technique for the last few months, but I still have a long way to go... Any tips? Thanks.
Craaaaaazy lick from 4.35 - 4.55. I could listen to your stuff all day long man. Once I´m here, I´d just like to request Orbital Decay from you to play like this. Got a tattoo based on your album cover, a little modified version ofcourse on my arm last week! Sore as hell lol
My instructor has the RGD prestige and I've played on it, and it's a pretty incredible instrument, but the switch to me is in a bad location. It doesn't look like it bothers you in your videos, but do you ever struggle with it? lol.
You should join Scar Symmetry. You and Per Nilsson's styles are really similar, but still different enough to have a really sick contrast. You're both incredible guitarists, too. \m/ Love your music, too, man.
Can you PLEASE go to England and work on some music with Andy James. You guys on a track would be er, slightly perverse if I were to attempt to describe how epic it would be.
Seriously. I would gladly sell my liver to shout you a ticket to England and studio time... I know it's not that simple but *sigh*
Hi dear Paul, since you've totally changed your guitar and pickups, from active EMGs to passive (i think V77) pickups, I'd really like to know if you are satisfied with your new pickup sounds as well as the previous actives. Or maybe you like your new pickups more?
Can it be that you are using some modes of melodic minor?
My guess would be the Dorian b2 mode out of the Melodic Minor scale mixed with some Phrygian and Aeolian out of the classic Major scale? And also some whole tone...
But I´m not sure, please help me! Your style is simply stunnig... I find it really interesting.
@paulwardingham dude are you serious? it's quite obvious that your big influence is Scar Symmetry.. djeez, atleast give them some credit for your 'inspiration' lol..
