  • Amazing music! Which guitar do you prefer more? Schecter Loomis or Ibanez RGD2127Z?

  • @AmonadPL Thanks! That's a tough one I like them both. I would say the Ibanez suits me better. Cheers!

  • @guitarshredking Thanks. Yeah I know Keith's music he's awesome! Cheers!

  • 3:35 - 3:54 my face went from :O to >:D

  • i have the same guitar but i'm not as good as you

  • Hey Paul as usual your stuff is breathtaking and makes me want to dissolve my guitar in a tub of acid. Check out Keith Merrow on youtube sometime, his rhythm playing is +++ you will prolly dig it.

  • I freaking love the chorus to this song. Amazing!

  • I'm very lucky to have found your channel :)

  • This sounds like some stuff from Periphery Guitar player Misha Mansoor aka "Bulb". Great skills.

  • @SuperTensaZangetsu i was thinking the same thing

  • Hey Paul

what do you make of the bridge on this ibanez? NO ibanez 7 strings come with an 'edge' or 'lo-pro edge' that are not j custom :(.

In my experience the edge-pro was so sub par, and I've heard nothing good about any of their other bridges. Vai / satriani, and in fact most ibanez players tend to swap the bridges for Edge's or lo-pros i notice. Id love to find a ibo 7 string off the shelf with a DECENT trem that can take abuse!

    Sick stuff!

  • You definitely do a lot of things Rusty Cooley doesn't, not that he can't, he just chooses to be tasteless haha, great song.

  • i like this song

    i need a scale name : )

  • Hey Paul I've been interested in a 7 string for a while now, how do you like your rgd?

  • @BamPew look at his shirt? lol

  • what guitar is that your playing there?

  • This is a great track and album but, would sound a lot better with a more organic production, away from the Jeff Loomis/ Djent Djent Djent sound

  • his playing looks so comfortable.

  • very good job

  • Came back for another listen. :) I listen to your stuff all the time in my car.

  • Hey paul, is your tab for this song guitar pro

  • Peter Csak a.k.a KreepMaster sent me here! I love your work! Headbanging right here from Brisbane \m/

  • *this

  • Hey Paul, I have a question about your picking technique. You seem to alter the position of the pick alot with your thumb and index finger (when your thumb knuckle bends). When you alternate pick fast lines, does theis play a big role, or is it mostly wrist?

  • @GuardianOfFate12 Hey there. No, It's mostly the wrist for fast lines. I don't think there's much of benefit of the knuckle movement and it happens when I'm relaxed and the fact that I am essentially an economy picker too. Cheers!

  • Wowww nice!

  • 4 people accidentally hit the dislike button. :(

  • Jump to 00:28 for sex.

  • sounds like scar symmetry

  • Hi, my name is Abel. i'm a musician aswell and a big fan. i've recently tried my hand at recording some of my own music, wondering if maybe you can take a listen to my track and maybe give me some pointers, from a producers standpoint. if its something your willing to do i;d love to send the track over. • guys.. i'd stop asking for sounds and patches and settings :) the reason why it sounds like this is simple - his brain and his hands.. props Paul.. count me in as a huge fan of yours ;)

  • i love his face throughout... just like " ye im a boss i know"

  • Hey Paul, I really like your tapping technique. I am trying to perfect that technique for the last few months, but I still have a long way to go... Any tips? Thanks.

  • @2:19 made me kick my dog.

  • hey paul what distortion do u use in the line 6 big bottom tone? screamer?

  • @ljevaine Hey. Just the big bottom no stomp for rhythm.

  • @paulwardingham effin love the musicality bro! sweet djentality...

  • Hi dude how can i get your tone for podHD500?

  • what amp are u using to get that tone? it's amazing!

    cheers

  • My instructor has the RGD prestige and I've played on it, and it's a pretty incredible instrument, but the switch to me is in a bad location. It doesn't look like it bothers you in your videos, but do you ever struggle with it? lol.

  • You should join Scar Symmetry. You and Per Nilsson's styles are really similar, but still different enough to have a really sick contrast. You're both incredible guitarists, too. \m/ Love your music, too, man.

  • @MrCameronBarton Thanks very much mate. \m/

  • Can you PLEASE go to England and work on some music with Andy James. You guys on a track would be er, slightly perverse if I were to attempt to describe how epic it would be.

Seriously. I would gladly sell my liver to shout you a ticket to England and studio time... I know it's not that simple but *sigh*

  • @TrikQuestionS Actually I met up with Andy in the UK a few weeks back. We just had a beer though. lol

  • @paulwardingham

That's why I mentioned it mate, I saw! It would be such an epic collab.

  • beautiful.

  • just some better drum programming and sampling, would be my FAV album.

  • Nice clean playing awesome composition, great tone too!

  • OMG, thanks for uploading this Paul!, this is my favorite song of your album, I´m a big fan of yours and I´m waiting for your next album.

you are f***ing geat man!!! xDDD

  • @pheremoth Thanks for the support mate. Cheers!

  • How much does a sick 7-string like that cost?

  • @ItzR3zR4pt0r AUD$1700 - 2000

  • Hi dear Paul, since you've totally changed your guitar and pickups, from active EMGs to passive (i think V77) pickups, I'd really like to know if you are satisfied with your new pickup sounds as well as the previous actives. Or maybe you like your new pickups more?

  • @EhsanImani Hey Ehsan. To be honest I like both.

  • This is too damn good ha, it makes me want to stop playin guitar ha. Just bought this track on itunes. You rule Paul!

  • Thanks. They're the stock pickups.

  • @paulwardingham wow, usually Ibanez's stock pickups sound like shit. Pretty cool.

  • Hey dude, what pickups are you using on that prestige?

    Amazing playing btw.

  • Hell yes Solution. 45!

  • Hey Paul!

    What scales are you using?

Can it be that you are using some modes of melodic minor?

My guess would be the Dorian b2 mode out of the Melodic Minor scale mixed with some Phrygian and Aeolian out of the classic Major scale? And also some whole tone...

But I´m not sure, please help me! Your style is simply stunnig... I find it really interesting.

    Cheers! \m/

  • @schalke1905 Hey. Yeah there's some, aeolian, melodic minor, phrygian dominant and diminished. Cheers

  • Awesome stuff man and an awesome shirt you got there ;). Need vocals! :(

  • do you like megadeth? your playing reminds me of marty friedman's on those lead parts. wicked, dude!

  • @MA1S0 Cheers! I grew up listening to Megadeth and Marty's playing was a big a influence on me for sure. \m/

  • @paulwardingham dude are you serious? it's quite obvious that your big influence is Scar Symmetry.. djeez, atleast give them some credit for your 'inspiration' lol..

  • Hey Paul. I was just wondering what monitors you used to mix your CD on? Also, do you use a subwoofer when mixing or just the main speakers?

  • @MeTuLHeD Hi. Mackie HR824's. No subwoofer. Cheers!

  • Awesome work Paul! This album has really inspired me in my own work! Inspiration is priceless, so thank you!!!!

  • Hey paul me and my band want to do a cover of this song. how do you recomend we aproach the song?

  • this tone is the most epic ive ever heard out of a pod. what kind of pickups are those? amazing song btw it gives me the chills at 4:17 everytime.

  • Stupendo

  • SOLUTION .45 \m/ \m/

  • yeah I was about to say this seriously reminded me of a more Djenty Soilwork... haha

  • I especially like the riff at 2:39 and the excellent lick from 4:35 to 4:44, they are simply sublime.

  • do you have any plans on using the axe fx mr. paul?

  • Paul, this video did it for me. Seeing how extraordinary your playing is, it has inspired me to finally tell myself: I need to do this for a living and for the rest of my life. This is the final door that I'm shutting that makes my decision of going to major in music. To have knowledge in music that helps you create this music is incredible.

  • Hey Paul, i'm curious is to what tuning this song is in?

  • So, What strings did you use?

  • Very cooooooooooooool!!!

  • hey, if you dont know of Andy James, you HAVE TO check him out. he is my fav guitarist and you play very similar to him. cheers to you dude. you are sick also.

  • 4:52. What an amazing lick Paul! What scale is that going up? That sounds absolutely amazing!

  • i got a technical question: for longer picked runs, do you use alternate or economic picking? btw great work, i really like the new album!

  • @BinbagBadger Thanks. I generally use economy picking for lead runs. Cheers!

  • @MrFrancescosmusic Thanks!

  • hey paul you are like the greatest guitar player i have ever heard and watched! i dont even play guitar but damn your amazing , can you explain to me how you make your drum tracks so i can do that for my band?

  • Dude, I found your channel through Christian Reign Grey. You are F'ing ridiculous. Great playing, and writing man!

  • Help me, can't stop replaying!!!

  • Of course John Locke from Lost playing modern metal is EPIC. What did you expect?

    Amazing work, man.

  • @migpolli04 "It's not a studio... It's a place where miracles happen."

  • a buddy of mine told me to listen to your stuff. So i got your album yesterday and i was blown away right from the start. i havent stopped listening to it, and Ghost in the Machine is by far my fave from it. Can not wait for this tab to come out! Nicely done dude, and also stoked for the next album now :)

  • you made a good work with all the songs man, congratulations, if u upload an other song like this one, will be amazing

  • @metalmasster Thanks man. \m/

  • It's amazing the tightness you have. - especially in the rhythms. I'm a rhythm guy - only been playing for 3 years. So I'm not as tight. But I can hear very, very slight variations, I think, in the left and right channels...so I assume you record the L and R separately. I can hear a big difference when I record mine since I'm not as tight. Btw, I'm Brandon who emailed you and said I feel like I'm in 2050 when listening to this album. ;)

I love slight alteration you gave your solo near the end.

  • @TheFireball100 Thanks for your comment Brandon. Yes left and right are recorded separately. Cheers!

  • Andy James recommended checking you out and I can see why. Love your stuff, great feel and technique. You're a real inspiration, mate! I'm going to buy your album for sure!

  • @enrmn Thanks a lot mate. Cheers!

  • @paulwardingham are those stock pickups? Or did you replace the pickups?

  • Nice work, mate!:) I am a fan !

  • @vansmunin Cheers!

  • hey dude do u have tabs for this song?? i really wanna progress on my solo-ing! thanks CHEERS!

  • @moparaddict72 A tab for this song with backing track will be available from my website next week. Cheers!

  • Your tracks are fucking sick! I fell in love the 1st time I listened to them. You create such fucking awesome songs!

I will be helping myself to a CD once I get enough money :-D!

  • @taxi911 Thanks for your support. \m/

  • just, great!!! I have a x3 too, can you tell me about your presets??? maybe by email??? THANKS DUDE!

  • It's so much easier to play on a pod than a tube amp... or any amp for that matter. Not that you couldn't, I just doubt you could be as clean.

  • Man wtf. Guitarist like you inspire me but also make me feel like giving up haha. How do you get so good. Did you take lessons? I wish someone like you was in Denver so I can take lessons from.

  • killer!!
