Visited summer 2010. Most of the ship is open to explore compared to other battleships I've visited. One of the displays showed that the Bismark's guns outranged it by several thousand yards. Katrina floated it off its mounts. Other good stuff to visit at the park as well: air museum and submarine.
@jrwjrw88 The Bismark class had a maximum gun elevation of 30 degrees ranging out to 39,940 yards firing a 1,800 lb shell. The Alabama had a maximum gun elevation of 45 degrees ranging out to 40,140 yards firing a 1,900 lb projectile. But in service, the Alabama carried the new Mark 8 16" projectile weighing in at 2,700 lbs which at 45 degrees ranged out to 36,900 yards. She gave up 3000 yds to the Bismark's maximum gun range for an extra 900 lbs per round.
We have the Battle Ship Alabama BB 60 here in my hometown of Mobile Alabama. I'm proud to be in the small number who assisted in it's procurement and removel from the mothball fleet in Bremerton Washington to Mobile, by becoming a Rear Admiral in the Alabama Navy. I fly my two star flag on my wall above my computer.

@USSWISCONSIN64 He was a radio operator in the radio room. He loved it on board, "it was like it's own floatiing city at sea."
