I have heard of people not wanting to but an inverter close to the hard drives, do you think an inverter can give off anything that would interfere with normal computer functions?
I really didn't like the side panel of my HAF 932, so I replaced it with Acrylic.. I use the casters aswell because its a pain to lift and why would you have it on a desk its too tall to use the front ports
Interesting about the castors. What a cool choice. And the door hinge? Why don't case manufacturers do that anyway? That is well ingenious. The water cooling thing is way too advanced for me.
I know how to do this but I was wondering if you can do this with the 15 inch logisys cold cathodes? These are sound activated, but I could care less about the sound activation! Would they work on the switch in non sound activated mode?
Nie job man...I have the haf 932 black edition and im going to be doing some wiring and lighting pretty similar to yours...i will post a video when im finished.
so far, im modding my cooling and im gonna build from that, i was wondering if u would try this, im replacing the 230mm fan on the side panel with 4 120's and the top 230 with 2 120's and putting a 140mm on the bottom, i also want to see if i can fit liquid cooling in there with all of that, wut do u think? will it fit?
I found vertically mounting the red logisys cathode lights looks much better, but that was on a 900. Personally for me I think the best mod on this case is the light switches ^^ good job.
BTW excellent mod with the hinges. Thats excellent! Overall great job on your case, and you're right video/pictures just dont do the lighting any justice....
i have this case, and to get rid of the orange glow in "red" cold cathodes go to Fred Myers, or bi mart... or what ever. And find Red auto break replacement tape. it gives it a blood red glow
he man great build and mods...i was wondering if i would replace the big fan on the side for 4 120mn fans then interconnect them and connect them to the psu would they run full speed or lower? and also is it bad for the fan to be constantly running at full speed?will it reduce the fan's life?so what would be better connect them to the psu or to the mobo?
i totally agree those wheels suck when i got my 932 and fitted the wheels, about a week after one broke, a month later cooler master sent me 4 new ones. nice build, going to make another 932 build when nvidia releases its dx11 gpus .
ps you should powder coat the inside of the case black or something will look much better with the red cathodes
Its an amazing case & i love what you've done with it. I love the 2 cathode lights on the door. Its got me thinking about doing a similar setup with my HAF 932.
The 1st thing i'll be doing is turning the side panel into a door which will be really helpful when i install the 2 cathode lights at a later date.
yes it is very large, and deff something i wouldnt be putting on the floor eather... i have one myself as you will see in my video responce and it gathers dust quite quickly and i have mine on a table... not to mention putting expencive hardware on the floor isnt the smartest idea... id rather pick mine up by hand as rolling it around cant be good for the drives, but nice setup you have
It's not a problem. Dust doesn't collect more than any other system and vibration is null with the hard mat and wheels. I would say it's personal preference whether to have a case on the ground or not (was my only option in this case plus I think it's ugly to have a case elevated and dominating the landscape in one's office area).
@JoeMommaRox see I am the opposite I'm painting my 932 I just got last week & I think I'll have to put it on the floor since my current case is 15lbs & this case is 30lbs so I doubt my desk supports its weight :( I don't like it being on the floor at all but sadly it is my only choice. Your entire comps looks fantastic by the way! Beautiful machine. Seems like the industry started green, switched to blue now we r slowly switching parts & lights to red. lol.
I recently made a filter mod for my 932 and it works great, haven't had any dust problems, before 1 day after cleaning i would have dust in the case, now its been 2 weeks and their is virtually no dust inside, I have 10 fans inside the case and the comp is on the floor and the dust collection was insane
I have a hard mat beneath my system and when I need to bring the tower out the legs on carpet would have meant putting strain on the case by lifting or whatnot. This is a very large full atx tower with fluid in it and a lot of hardware and rolling it out from the corner I have it in is more effective on a vinyl hardmat vs carpet and peg legs.
legs were purchased from Home Depot (to replace the crappy plastic ones that came with the case). They are more industrial and have ball bearing rotation.
@dirtbiker8120077 I just added information to the hinge mod in my sidebar. I followed the mod that this guy did ... actually in his info bar there's a link to a site with very detailed instructions.
But I had to kind of figure out some of it on my own ... some eye balling played a big roll so I'm afraid I might not be very informative. I picked up smaller hinges than he did because I was going for lower profile.
I have been looking for a clip or pic of cathode tubes mounted underneath a case like this. I have a 922 and want to do this. How cool would it be to wrap them in mesh rectangle "tubes". Mesh like the drive bay blanks.
That would be cool. might make a nice effect like fingers of light radiating from the base. Interesting.
I mounted mine through trial and error. At first was done with adhesive tabs of velcro ... but gravity prevailed. Later I tried hot glue ... but heat and gravity once again one this battle. I finally decided to zip tie one end of each tube through the mesh area near the PSU ... then dropped a bit of super glue to the other end and attached to the case. It's holding strong still.
i also have the haf 932, and i also want the 4 120 mm fans on the side, but i only have 1 case fan socket left in the motherboard. Can i interconnect the 4 fans and plug them in the motherboard socket? or can i connect the fans directly to the psu? i have the gigabyte odin pro 800w. please help!
Doing so would make them run slower. I wouldn't personally suggest combining them (although two interconnected might lower the fan speed to the benefit of being less noisy). Hope this helps.
Oh, if you don't care about speed control via motherboard/windows then I would just splice each to it's own male molex on the 5v line or share a couple per line ... probably your best bet for achieving the 4 fans you want installed.
The temps I took yesterday may be off (this is a precursor to the disassembly and rebuild of the system ... moving to i&7 based system).
In the process I discovered INTENSE buildup of material which is inherintly existent in the Feser-One coolant.
I assume my temps I took before the switch-over were a bit high but will take new readings as soon as I can finish this new setup and post the video to include temps etc etc.
2x120mm fans on the top pushing out against the radiator (which is suspended inside the upper part of the case). There's 2x230mm fanse sucking from the side door and front of case. There's no real suction problems since there's tons of ventilation and noise isn't a problem with the large fans as they run lower RPM with more volume of air circulated. The position of radiator is ideal since heat can't "pool" in the case (heavily ventilated top are of the case shoots the heat right out the top).
people always make videos of how to wire the cathode switches, but could you tell me how you mounted the swtitches onto the case. was it just a drill?

check my more recent video for the full specs of the current setup ... but no more upgrading for a while ... this beast is PLENTY meaty as is.
JoeMommaRox 2 years ago
mobo/mem/cpu were upgraded since this video was made at around 880
two waterblocks alone were around 200 I think.
case was a lot ... but there is a lot of little things ... cdrom certainly was not 80 (as someone implied).
basically JUST going to an i7 system meaning new mem/mobo/cpu ran nearly 900
wheels ... time ... fluid ... time ... it all adds up.
JoeMommaRox 2 years ago
not 900 ... 830 ... my bad
