man getting distrubed in vid-making by his ever worried spouse.......WHAT!? Miss, please leave him alone with his hobbies, they are there for a reason....
@hitachi088 The flame is kerosene. Preheat uses methyl alcohol but this burns out in less than 1-minute. A clean will fit burner with a good jet orifice is capable of exceptional efficiency
You killed a 111 for this mod? Wow... I hope it was just a spare burner you used. But it was a very well executed "home-made" mod. The only shortcoming is that the fuel tank gives just about 20 min. of boil time for the likes of the stove, Ranger, 199, etc.
I picked up several "spare" burners cheap. One converted into a KAP arctic burner w/ Trangia 25 and another became a DIY 199. The others are very safe and will stay that way. 20 minutes used wisely is still several meals backpacking.
any reason why optimus dropped the wire pot supports for the cross piece over the burner?
the older ones were wire then they switched to the cross. I guess it helps hold smaller pots and cups etc, but just wondering if it affects performance?
This stove is burning kerosene(paraffin) it requires a preheat cycle using alcohol(methyl spirits) to properly vaporize the fuel. The Optimus 199 came OEM with restrictor tubes that allowed its use with white gas or alcohol.

check base-camp in United Kingdom or Spiritburner and search posts for x-pot support. A member (BernieDawg) has a template that can be downloaded
hope this helps
