@CT3087 actually most of them were sailors, their main source of food was FISH because of the little ice age that struck and killed the scandinavian crops, this lead to a shortage of tradeable goods. the scandinavians then migrated on mass to england, mostly the danes, into the newly setup city that is now known and london. raiding began at the dawn of the 9th century and lasted several hundred years. the viking age lead us into the feudal age which kicked off the middle ages of kings.

Sometimes a "job" to do some money. Sometimes a way for criminals and violent to run away from justice and do what they most like.Sometimes a way to conquer glory and honor.

To go Viking was a part of life of a real Norseman.
