I have a 4 yr old staffy called Laila. She used to be owned by a burglar them he got arrested and he didn't care about the dog do she went to the pound :-( luckily my mum found her in the kennels after no one claimed her! She is the sweetest and most good natured creature on this planet and it makes me sick to this hsppen. Ps I couldn't watch this video without balling my eyes out.
I've got a beautiful staffy called Bonnie, I got extremely emotional at the part when they talked about jumping out the car then turning around to find out that there so called 'owner' had left them there to later on be euthanized!! :(( Staffys are the most calm animals and would not even try to hurt there owner and anyone else!!

We picked up our staffy from a pound, he was looking at death row, it takes alot to upset me but this is probably what happened with mine, and i think now the home we have given him and all the patience caring and time, he has turned out to be simply the best dog we have had. When he looks at us, you can see it in his eyes how safe he now feels.

staffie's and pitbulls are a big dog. they will fight to defend themselves/thier family. a miracle happened a few weeks ago. a few chavs who i had an argument with at my school ambushed when i went down an alleyway. out of nowhere my dog hears my scream (about 4 houses away) starts barking at speeds towards me (read comment above for next bit no more space)

It is shocking to read and some people seem to have an opinion based only on the media. If you had actually owned and loved a staffy you would not class them as a dangerous dog etc - with any breed it is the owner that makes them dangerous. Staffies are the best breed. The problem I think has come from some young people who like to have them as a statement and to feel tough and people are cross breeding them on purpose - perhaps we should make neutering compulsory except for breeding kennels.

When Saba was brought my sister was only 4 and i was 8. Now im 14. Every night Saba sleeps down in my room under my arm. After school saba paitently waits for us to return and is smoothered in kisses.
As a general rule, it's not the dogs which are the problem, it's the owners. Yes there are genetic predispositions in some breeds towards aggression etc. But as you say, if the owner doesn't know what they're doing or buys the dog for image alone, the whole situation becomes a nightmare. And the only innocent party is the dog :(
south today 08/12/09 brighton and hove council seek a ban on staffordshire bull terriers. this breed has been responsible for 70 dog attacks this year and is this UK,s most abandoned breed. rescue kennels find this breed to be the hardest breed to rehome due to its " inherent " aggressiveness !

a staffy is a type of dog......most people get them confused with Pitballs. Staffys aren't what everyone makes them out to be. Those people just dont have a clue what they're talking about, and even the media gets it wrong when their is a "Staffy" (whish is actually a Pitball) attack as they look very similar

It doesnt take a lot to make a staffy happy .A warm bed a full belly and lots of love .Its not a lot compared to a life time of devotion and faithfulness.
some people dont seem to care, i had my staffy dog for 12 great years but sadly i had to put her to sleep afew months ago and i miss her like crazy people need to understand that cute little pup you buy grows up needs lots of exercise love and care just like a child and in return you will get 100 percent love and commitment
Man alive! Talk about a video thats sure to make you cry! It's so true! My husband is currently deployed for 6 months and my 2 staffs are always there to cheer me up! I could never dump my dog somewhere, it breaks my heart to think what that dog must be thinking when his owner drives off.
This is such an amazing breed of dog as I have one myself, they aren't nasty unless you make them like that. They aren't a status symbol they are a bloody loving and caring creature!!!

I have the most gorgeous staff in the world he was bought when i was only 1 and a half years old he wouldnt harm a fly he still hasnt he is soo protective over me he saved my dads life ! a dog bit my dad and then along came my hero of a dog and he bit the alsation that bit my dad although my dog was hurt a little he was still okay it was his birthday yesterday accaulty and although he is quite old you could still see the puppy we had years ago as if it was only yesterday x
our billy had his six month check with the vet last tuesday she said god look at the size of him already 48 pounds of pure muscle most of it is between his ears but thats a given . Sbt over the sbl
Hello again billy is 56 pounds now he has a half black half white face with a red eye and a black over white body he is 7months old today .the vet says he should make about90 pounds . Big for a staffy but thats what he is . good vid but its so sad
Bravo, truly beautiful video. My staffy is rescued, I took him in at 2, he's now 3. All the wealth in the world coouldn't buy him off me now - he's my companion. He shares every moment he can with me. What some heartless people cannot see is the love in a staffies eyes, the willingness to please you at whatever cost and the love they need so much - they never look beyond the hard image. My god how our little billy has grown but we love him more with every ounce he is 5 and a half months old now . When he was a small pup he was horrid biting all the time and not at all freindly but we stuck with him and now my god what a dog he is becoming he is nearly 3 stone already house trained and a lovely big soft chap he does at least 2 miles a day off lead so his size isnt fat
Staffies are the best dog breed ever. We lost my Mother some months ago, and we got a 2 year-old Staffy to my Father, by recommendation. She, Catarina, is a therapist dog, she wont´t let you get too melancolic, she always around, and on our laps. I love her and she loves us with all her heart! BT

I work in a kennels with loads of dogs...Adoption, lost and found and boarding and its sooo sad, theres loadss ! of staffys. Half of the staffys i see in the boarding section i know are going to be put to sleep because of how they were trained to attack...Even though they are the sweetest things ever !. A staffy i fell in love with called Kara was put down not to long ago because her owners trained her to attack. She was a softy to me though ;[

The problem I think has come from some young people who like to have them as a statement and to feel tough and people are cross breeding them on purpose - perhaps we should make neutering compulsory except for breeding kennels.

it brought tears to my eyes. I ahve three staffys and they ae goorgeous and loving. One even comes to work with me in an autistic school. and she is gentle with the kids. one of the kids even started to talk becaus eof her. how can anybody be cruel to these dogs. they are so trusting and loving .

ive been reading these comments and i DO NOT agree with the ones who say that Staffys should be banned.
I recon it all comes down to their nature. If a staff is bred and sold to fight of course its going to attack anything in its path.
but a Staffy that is bred with a good temperment and sold to a loving caring home will be the best friend anyone wants.
i have a 5 year old Staffy whos been the only dog for 5 years and this year we brougt home a Maltease X Mini Poodle (Moodle).

continued.... Everyone warned us against getting another puppy epsically one that had Poodle in it. But Saba, the staffy, has been like a father to Honey. Saba lets Honey jump on his back and Saba lies down and lets Honey sit on him....
When Saba was brought my sister was only 4 and i was 8. Now im 14. Every night Saba sleeps down in my room under my arm. After school saba paitently waits for us to return and is smoothered in kisses.

As a general rule, it's not the dogs which are the problem, it's the owners. Yes there are genetic predispositions in some breeds towards aggression etc. But as you say, if the owner doesn't know what they're doing or buys the dog for image alone, the whole situation becomes a nightmare. And the only innocent party is the dog :(

south today 08/12/09 brighton and hove council seek a ban on staffordshire bull terriers. this breed has been responsible for 70 dog attacks this year and is this UK,s most abandoned breed. rescue kennels find this breed to be the hardest breed to rehome due to its " inherent " aggressiveness !

today a four year old boy was mauled to death by a staffy and the granmother badly injured trying to save the child.yet another child has to lose its life so morons can strutt around playing the " big i am ". how many more children have to be injured and killed before this breed is rightly banned. the pathetic defense these morons spout that its the " irrisponsible owners and not the dog " wont wash anymore. the statisic show this breed is a menace to society and an insult to the canine world.

what a fantastic poem it brought tears to my eyes because unfortunatley this is the ugly truth about this beautiful breed of dogs. i have a beautiful staffie HARLEY. he is the most loveable, adorable, voictrus funny dog. i couldnt ask for a better breed of dog. if you are looking for a loyal, loving best friend you will definetly find it in a staffie. i will never buy any other dog but a staffie. what the papers say about these dogs are all down to the owner not the breed!!!!!

a staffy is a type of dog......most people get them confused with Pitballs. Staffys aren't what everyone makes them out to be. Those people just dont have a clue what they're talking about, and even the media gets it wrong when their is a "Staffy" (whish is actually a Pitball) attack as they look very similar

wev just saved to staffys to from being put down after some crule porson threw em out 2 girlsthe vet says there no good for breading because thay hav breeded to mutch but we said we just wanted them for family pets now we hav 3 staffs 3 jack russles ,japanise-aceater and thay get on fine and my horses chase them like crazy there so loved staffys are the best dogs eva they are wat you make of them P.S great vid

Man alive! Talk about a video thats sure to make you cry! It's so true! My husband is currently deployed for 6 months and my 2 staffs are always there to cheer me up! I could never dump my dog somewhere, it breaks my heart to think what that dog must be thinking when his owner drives off.

I have the most gorgeous staff in the world he was bought when i was only 1 and a half years old he wouldnt harm a fly he still hasnt he is soo protective over me he saved my dads life ! a dog bit my dad and then along came my hero of a dog and he bit the alsation that bit my dad although my dog was hurt a little he was still okay it was his birthday yesterday accaulty and although he is quite old you could still see the puppy we had years ago as if it was only yesterday x

Hello again billy is 56 pounds now he has a half black half white face with a red eye and a black over white body he is 7months old today .the vet says he should make about90 pounds . Big for a staffy but thats what he is . good vid but its so sad

Bravo, truly beautiful video. My staffy is rescued, I took him in at 2, he's now 3. All the wealth in the world coouldn't buy him off me now - he's my companion. He shares every moment he can with me. What some heartless people cannot see is the love in a staffies eyes, the willingness to please you at whatever cost and the love they need so much - they never look beyond the hard image. People are what gives this breed the bad name not the dogs, put bad owners down not mislead staffies! SAVE SBT

My god how our little billy has grown but we love him more with every ounce he is 5 and a half months old now . When he was a small pup he was horrid biting all the time and not at all freindly but we stuck with him and now my god what a dog he is becoming he is nearly 3 stone already house trained and a lovely big soft chap he does at least 2 miles a day off lead so his size isnt fat

Staffies are the best dog breed ever. We lost my Mother some months ago, and we got a 2 year-old Staffy to my Father, by recommendation. She, Catarina, is a therapist dog, she wont´t let you get too melancolic, she always around, and on our laps. I love her and she loves us with all her heart! BT

Aww i luv this vid...i hav two staffy's and they wouldnt hurt a fly, i got my boy Tommy who the vet thinks is about 4yrs old, about 3 months ago coz sum loser was beating him and had this huge link chain around his neck that weighed heaps! he is the nicest boy ever and he so cuddley, he just needed attention and my girl Lola we've had since she was 6 weeks old and she's just adorable...staffy's t the best dogs ever!

I work in a kennels with loads of dogs...Adoption, lost and found and boarding and its sooo sad, theres loadss ! of staffys. Half of the staffys i see in the boarding section i know are going to be put to sleep because of how they were trained to attack...Even though they are the sweetest things ever !. A staffy i fell in love with called Kara was put down not to long ago because her owners trained her to attack. She was a softy to me though ;[

i loved this video it made me cry the first time i watched it. my staffy is called cheeko he is white with a black patch on his left eye. he has fathered 5 pups which all went to good homes. it has made me think about not breeding again. i get a lot of offers from people with bitches cause my cheeko is a sexy wee man u dont see many staffys like him. the pups he fathered were stunning. keep up the good work. save our staffys cause they are truely amazing

it just makes me cry when i think of how people treat dogs so badly. its a truly beautiful vid and so well done - but it does have that effect. you changed my mind about breeding. i was getting a bitch so we could breed and just keep the parents as pets but i think id spend my life worrying about where the pups were and if they were being looked after properly.
