sorry...simonxag...Hy Zaret is the traductor in english written in England during the last war (1943) by anna Marly for the music and emmanuel d'Astier de la Vigerie for the words " la complainte du partisan"is the name in french...
@waynecannington Why is everyone saying this? I've heard this song dozens of times and I promise you I wouldn't be able to sing one line from the French portion of the song. If they were recording a studio version I might say they could have tried the French bit, but seeing as how this is a pretty good live performance people should just take it for what it is.
loved this song for 50 years and now finally it came out as a bird from a cage. No but really fantastically performed. Sweden wish you love ,peace and happiness.war is over .....

This is NOT a Leonard Cohen song. It's by Hy Zaret and Anna Marly.

Good stuff, though 16 Horsepower's version has a real howl to it that makes it even more moving

Great cover, though I think they should have tried to include the French part.

This is not really a Leonard cohen song though. It was written in 1943 by Anna Marly and Emmanuel d'Astier de la Vigerie. Cohen just made it famous.

They should have at least attempted the French part. Disappointing.
