Is this a good system if not tell me what to improve... 3 10'' JL Audio W3V2, Running it on a 1000 Watt Sony Amp, I'm getting Hifonics door speakers 6X9 and 6.5 door speakers, Alpine 126BT, & A Bass Expander.
@patocazares14 it has to be ported for sure ported moves more air and hits hard but you dont get the sharp bursts like you do with sealed. If you listen to rap definitely use ported. I drive a 740il that is an 01 and I have a custom proted box with 2 12 w3's and it hits harder then a 13 sealed w7 and then my friends 2 13 w3's powered by 2 500'1's in sealed boxes
@jlaudiobmw740il 13w7 SEALED. my cousin has one with a 1000/1v2 and that is just as loud as 2 mtx 9500 12s fully powered. we have yet to hear it as loud as it will go. IF only the 135 amp breaker wouldnt pop soo much lol. the w3s are great all round subs

Its funny reading the posts about this video... Hell its now almost 2010 and I own a JL Powerwedge prefab box with the three 8 ohm JL W1v2 subs wired to a final 2.7 ohm impedance... I also have a 1000/1v2 and with the gain turned to 3/4 and bass boost at 1/2... on certain songs it could easily burn the voice coils out... and that sub setup can handle 900 w RMS max. That is one bad ass quality amp, I dont see why people buy overrated Hifonics shit... pretty much pawn shop quality- low damping...
I got the same setup, just in a extended cab toyota tacoma. when i film it with my digital camera, it does that whole wavy thing like yours does at 0:33 i guess it means got too much bass for the camera, eh?

dude i have exactly the same setup, belive me that amp is underrated like by 100,150 watts so be carefull with it, wire it to 1 ohm and youll see what those subs are capable of , theyll blow your mind if you got ported box be carefull with the gain you wont need much if you have sealed box theyll handle more power.

nice choice youll get the best from both worlds, SQ and SPL , i got a 1.6 farad cap for the brutus, the brand doesnt really matter you can get an expensive one but a cheaper one will do the exact same job so is up to you how much you wanna spend. I choose the brand metrick its pretty good actually. just get a digital one and youll be fine with 1.6 farad.

yeah to 1 ohm but the amp is a litlle bit more than 1/2 gain just eq your amp right a youll be fine listen to your subs theyll tell you how much they need, my box is 1.27 ft per sub sealed box, 3/4 inch mdf, 4 gauge db link wires, optima yellow top, stock alt.i think that the are getting like 500, 550 wats rms max. a lil advice use them with your trunk closed, if you dont is easier for them to blow.
You only need 1 farad per 1000 watts. Having a 3 farad capacitor with an 800 watt amp won't benefit you any more than a 1 farad will. : ) The main thing is to run larger wires going to the alternator pos. post, from the battery's ground to the frame/body of the car, and also to the engine block ground. A capacitor simply stiffens the voltage available to the amplifier- It doesnt do much more than storing a little bit of juice so the amp can pull a little more current (amps). GET BIGGER WIRES !
