I love Wembley but the progress of this stadium is amazing. A lot of us Brits are knocking the games which is so sad because the world obviosly holds us in high esteem. Theres not that many countries let alone cities that have had th games 3 times so I'm proud and am gonna be there. I would have prefered the original concept stadium that was a wothy aesthetic rival to the birds nest but this one is growing on me.
Granted a reduced stadium would be more feasible given the likely attendances at events after the games but who is to say we won't now be able to bid for World and/or European Athletics Championships?
I agree, what is to gain from reducing the capacity? I understand that maintainence will be cheaper for a smaller stadium and if it remains as a purpose built athletics stadium it will most probably not reach capacity again, but it should remain as a monument to what will be a great games and a key event in the regeneration of that part of east London.
The upkeep costs won't make it economically viable to maintain the entire structure, it would become another Millenium Dome if it's not minimised, sadly
Whats the ceremony things going to be during the games, like china has all dancers and singers. i think we should make it BRITISH :) have like all the royal foot guards, fly overs and just show the world, although we are not classed as the super power, we are still some thing special, and powerful and british.
it really seams ugly....

Why take it down. London has been waiting for this for ages and were going to have to chuck it

we should spend more on 2012, I would pay higher taxes in order to make the games the best ever!
